Investigating the casino

Cortez arrived at Toledo, Just as Santiago instructed he didn't take charge and let the casino continue to function as it had always been. It's nine in the evening and the Casino is packed with men and women who are willing to waste what they have worked for. Cortez sat in a corner, he took a sip from his scotch and continued his job.

Around midnight, the casino was still packed, he began to wonder how the money they'd been receiving every month was small, the scumbag who is managing this place is surely stealing from their boss which is a dump move to make.

Cortez decided to start his investigation, he didn't want to stay here in Toledo for more than two days. He went to the bar and decided to start with the bartender. "Good morning Alex," he smiled.

"Don't you mean good morning? Cortez." Alex replied. Everyone who works for Santiago knows the other but the only difference between between those who don't go on missions with him and those who take care of his other businesses is that they don't know him. They've never seen him as Santiago before, all they know is they are working for a man who doesn't want to be known by the world.

"It's past twelve Alex, it's morning." He beamed but the smile wasn't a friendly one.

"What do you want Cortez, I have work to do." Alex puffed out.

"I just want to ask you some questions. How much do you make from selling at the bar?"

Alex knows best than to disrespect or ignore Cortez, Cortez is his senior and is working directly with the big boss. Disrespecting him is disrespecting the big boss.

"I make one hundred thousand dollars a day here sometimes it goes up to one hundred fifty thousand dollars." Alex shrinks, he doesn't know why Cortez is asking and he doesn't care.

"One cocktail for me, do what you do best Alex." A lady dressed in revealing clothes said she stood watching Alex without batting an eyelash.

"Of course," Alex smiled and winked at her.

It was evident that they were flirting with each other, Cortez watched them communicate, and he wondered how many of the girls who had come here had ended up in his bed.

Alex handed her the cocktail, She took a sip and smiled "Good as always." She smiled, placed the drink on the counter and opened her clutch, she took out some dollar bills and placed them on the counter, pushed it to Alex and said,

"For the awesome drink you made me." She took out another and dipped it in his pants, "your tip." She winked and left to get a drink.

"How many of them have you screwed?" Cortez asked.

"Enough to make me a nation if I wasn't using protection. Any more questions?" He asked.

"Do you know how much you make a day in this Casino?" His voice was low so as not to attract the wrong person.

"Seeing as you are asking I'll take it that the boss is suspicious. It's about time, this casino makes an average of fourteen million dollars a day, but the person managing this casino is living off the money. He just bought himself a new house and car, he even booked a trip for him and his girlfriend. He changes his girlfriends like girls change their clothes."

"So he is stealing the boss's income?" Cortez asked just to be sure, passing the wrong information to the boss might lead to the death of two people, him and the niño de puta running this place.

"Yes he is, first I thought it was his salary because the big boss is paying well but then I realized that our salary can't get us two houses and three cars in a short period. One house is a yes because I know that if I am receiving half a million for being a bartender then he is receiving bigger for running the Casino. But that's not the case, he has two houses and three cars in his name."

Cortez smirked "he has bitten more than he can chew... Don't tell anyone about this." Cortez warned.

"You don't know how badly I want that motherfucker out of here, he is behaving all high and mighty as if he is the owner of this place, treating us like trash. Last time he sexually assaulted one of our female staff and threatened not to report what happened or else he would make life a living hell for her. The poor girl couldn't talk and didn't quit her job because it's her only source of income, she has to see the face of that motherfucker who raped her every day." Alex had a lot to say, it looked like he had been bottling all this information and was waiting for the right person to take off the bottle cap.

"Thank you for your time, Alex," Cortez pulled out his wallet removed some bills and put them inside Alex's pants "Your tip." Alex swat his hand away.

"Don't tease me." He warned, Cortez walked away laughing.

"It seems like my job here will be over earlier than expected," he muttered.

He questioned other staff members in the Casino, some told him what they knew and all that they said corresponded to what Alex told him. He warned them not to breathe out a word to the scumbag, if they do they'd lose their jobs and won't be able to get jobs anywhere else.

Cortez left for Madrid the very next day, he was happy to have been able to get his job done early. When he got back to Madrid, he called Santiago, he was told to bring everything he had gathered the next day.

Cortez didn't come back alone, he brought with him the girl who was sexually assaulted by the scumbag, while he was investigating the Casino, he found out that the girl was always looking above her shoulders, she was constantly fidgeting, and she looked anxious.
