Chapter65 I'll Help You
Caius wasn't wearing a suit today, but rather a casual-looking trench coat.
As he got out of the car, bright sunlight outlined his features, quickly making him the center of attention in the crowd.
Even Vivienne, splashing around in the fountain, couldn't help but freeze for a moment when she saw him.
Linnea also looked over, somehow noticing that effortless handsomeness he possessed without even trying.
Stop, stop, Linnea, what are you thinking about? No matter how you look at it, Caius only looks like a demon from hell!
Linnea quickly steadied her mind. She met Caius's smiling eyes.
"What happened here? Vivienne, how did you end up in such a state?"
"Did you fall in yourself? How careless of you!"
Selah saw him too.
She paused but didn't put on a flattering expression like everyone else. She simply looked away indifferently.
Vivienne's lips trembled as she shakily pointed at Linnea. "It was her! Linnea went crazy and pushed me into the fountain!"
"Is that so?"
Caius showed a surprised expression. He had his subordinate help Vivienne up, then turned around and sternly rebuked Linnea. "Linnea, I need you to give me an explanation! Why would you do something so crude and bullying in public?"
Linnea was intimidated by him. She panicked.
At the Radiant Vision art exhibition ceremony, artists of higher status always went first, while the lowly ones went last.
When Linnea had caused that scene earlier, part of it was naturally to vent her anger, but another part was to ensure Selah's appearance would be last in the ceremony...
Getting caught by Caius wasn't part of her plan!
But when she looked at Caius and saw the amusement in his eyes, she froze.
Linnea said tentatively, "I didn't mean it, Boss..."
She moved closer and gently tugged on his clothes, explaining to him Selah's terrible treatment.
"So that's how it is? Oh, that's certainly not right. The great Knight family can't even provide a decent booth for an artist attending their art exhibition? Moreover, Miss Selah's artistic achievements are beyond question."
Selah glanced at him and said perfunctorily, "Yeah, thanks for the recognition."
Vivienne was confused seeing him defend Selah. How was she supposed to know Selah had connections to a big shot like Caius!
She could only struggle to get up. "Miss Selah, I'm so sorry! It was an oversight in our hosting arrangements. Miss Selah, we'll arrange a new booth for you immediately..."
"However," Caius interrupted Vivienne. He shifted the conversation back to Linnea. "Linnea, you defied Miss Vivienne. Your mistake is the biggest one."
Linnea's fingers clutching his clothes tightened. She was sweating frantically inside.
Was Caius really not going to let her off?
"Boss, this isn't what you think..."
"Then what is it? Miss Vivienne is still standing here covered in dirty water. What are you trying to argue?"
As Caius spoke, he peeled her fingers off one by one. Linnea was really afraid he'd crush her hand!
But the next second, avoiding everyone's sight, Caius gripped her hand in his palm and rubbed it firmly. It was the gesture he often used when rubbing her butt.
Linnea's expression instantly changed. She glared at him in embarrassment and anger.
That Caius...!
But on the surface, Linnea could only squeeze out a pitiful tone. "Mr. Caius, I know I was wrong. But I'm just an ordinary person from a normal background. I'm not good at being fake or patient. When someone bullies me too much, getting a bit impulsive is normal, right?"
"Is that so?"
"Yeah..." Linnea's tone became ambiguous. "After all, Caius, you know me well. You won't blame me for it, will you?"
Watching them, Vivienne actually detected an atmosphere similar to flirting.
She wasn't sure, but jealousy made her itch inside. Fortunately, Caius maintained a cold face throughout. Despite Linnea's soft pleas, he still said, "Perhaps I've been too kind to my subordinates as their boss, which is why you keep making excuses, trying to gloss over your bullying of Vivienne!"
He grabbed her wrist and started walking out.
"Come on, I really need to teach you a lesson!"
"...Caius, where are you going? The art exhibition ceremony is about to start!"
Vivienne called after him from behind, but it was futile.
Jax watched as Vivienne's false eyelashes fell off and laughed heartily. Finally, he wasn't the only one being despised. "My dear sister, you look so pathetic right now!"
Vivienne couldn't be bothered with that idiot. She could only calculate what would happen next in her mind.
So what if Linnea was acting all high and mighty now?
Once she announced the sale of the old mansion at the ceremony, she wanted to see just how miserably Linnea would cry!
Meanwhile, Linnea was dragged into the depths of a hallway by Caius. Overwhelming kisses rained down.
Linnea was very dissatisfied. She tried to push Caius away while biting his lips hard. "You promised you wouldn't come! Why did you go back on your word!"
"But my little cat loves making trouble too much. I don't dare let my little cat run around causing scenes. Just like earlier."
Caius licked away the bloody taste in both their mouths, "condemning" her while groping her breasts through the fabric. "Linnea, of course I have to punish you. You dared to bully my wife in front of everyone."
Linnea's eyes darted around as she watched Caius pretend to be angry.
She snuggled into Caius's embrace. "But she bullied me first... Caius, don't you feel sorry for me?"
"Feel sorry that you threw my wife into a fountain?" Caius scoffed, suddenly tightening his grip on her waist and asking, "Linnea, tell me, why did you give the Radiant Vision art exhibition hosting rights to the Knight family?"
He stared closely at Linnea, asking his real question.
Linnea looked away, frantically thinking of countermeasures. No matter what, before things succeeded, she couldn't reveal anything to Caius. But how could she deflect?
After a stalemate, Linnea's eyes became hazy.
Under Caius's interrogating gaze, her soft hand wandered around his waist and abdomen. "Caius, I'll help you..."
Caius's eyes immediately darkened.
He released her waist and instead took her hand, letting Linnea crouch down naturally.
She was about to use her hand to undo Caius's zipper, but he gripped her fingers tightly. "Use your teeth. You can do that, can't you? You've done it before."
"That makes my teeth sore... please."
Caius stared at her for a few seconds before finally compromising and releasing her.
Linnea showed a sly smile, half-crouched below him, and pulled his zipper open...
But before Caius could growl and press his large palm to the back of her head, Linnea quickly retreated, bounced up using the wall for support, turned around, and ran away.
"Caius, please don't ask me what I'm trying to do just yet!"
"Anyway, after it's done, I'll definitely thank you properly!"
