Chapter 12 12
Sheila's POV
I raised a hand to stop Calvin from moving any closer. “Are you out of your mind?”
“I may be as well out of my mind if you're intent on ruining this company, this is why women like tou shouldn't be in power!”
“Calvin, that was a good investment and you know it, don't let your bitterness cloud your sense of judgement.”
He guffawed and threw his hands in the air. “You call that a good call? That's trash and you were deceived because you're a woman. Whoever you screwed to get this job had to be screwed enough to convince the alpha to hire a dimwit such as yourself!”
“Enough!” I yelled, exasperatedly.
“I am done with you looking down on me and throwing shades at me. Listen Calvin, I do not care about your grievances or your pompous attitude, I can overlook your stupidity because I understand you're pained to be replaced by someone else but I'm the executive manager and you have to respect that fact!” I sternly told him.
“I'd rather lick the ass of a dog than respect a woman who sleeps-”
“Oh for heaven's sake shut the fuck up!” I snapped and he was taken aback.
It was my turn to corner him and I didn't hesitate.
“You disrespected and insulted me yesterday, I let it slide because it's my first say and I didn't want to cause trouble.” I started, gritting my teeth and moving closer to him, one step at a time.
“You publicly want against me in front of investors, berating my decision, I let that slide too, afterall, even a man is allowed to throw tantrums once in a while.” I continued, taking another step.
“You dared to be racist against that woman and the company could've faced a lawsuit because of your sexism, I covered that up and now you're confidently attacking me?” I added, raising my voice a little bit.
“She had no rights talkin-”
“Oh, shut the hell up!” I growled and he kept mute.
“Listen to me Calvin because I'll say this just this once, yes, I slept with someone to get to where I am, yes, i don't have a thousand years experience like you but you know what differentiates us? I slept with the fucking right person who is powerful and youre nothing more than a tiny little powerless man who wants to make himself feel better for the fact that he's outsmarted by a woman.” I spat, to his face and let it sink in for a moment.
“I'd tell you who I had to fuck to get this position and you can go ahead and fuck him too but I doubt if you can ride him as much as I do.” I added, he was shocked by my brazen statement.
“I'm sick of babysitting your stupid ego so don't you dare ever interrupt me when I'm talking or openly counter my decisions and order, if you're discontented by all these, take it to a higher level and there's none because it ends with me, still not happy? Quit! Trust me, there are lot of people who are eyeing your position, have a nice day!”
I waltzed off, getting into the elevator and the look on his face at that moment? Priceless. I enjoyed every second of it, basking in his fear, horror and cowardice. I couldn’t stop smiling to myself even after I got out of the elevator.
Marcus had already pulled over the car, awaiting me and he held the car door for me.
“Miss me?”
I jumped up in fright, almost jumping out of my skin as I was shocked by thr voice that greeted me. I turned to see Cameron sitting in the car, smugly smiling at me.
“You scared the living daylights out of me!” I exclaimed, hitting him playfully on the shoulder while I sat down.
“There's a smile plastered on your face, did something fun happen at work today?” He asked, curiously and I rolled my eyes, I shifted comfortably as the car had begun to move.
“You told me you won't be back for another two days or so, did you lie to me?” I accused him, ignoring his question.
“Well, someone called me lazy so I hurried up the entire process and arrived just in time to prove that someone, wrong.” He stated, wirh a poker-face.
I tut and slightly shook my head, amused at how petty he was. “You're unbelievable.” I remarked.
“No, I'm Cameron and you can call me yours if you like.” He said, flirtatiously and I blushed.
I noticed we took a detour away from the path that led home. “What's happening? Why are we heading the wrong way?”
“Relax tigress, we'll go home, not yet. I have something to show you.” Cameron explained and I relaxed.
“So tell me, what happened at work today?” He asked me, again.
I narrated everything to him and he laughed as I told him how I put Calvin in his place.
“I knew you would take charge of everything, keep it up and soon everyone will fear and respect you.” He cheered.
I smiled sheepishly and the car came to a halt. The door opened and Cameron got out first, offering me a hand. I took his hand and got out as well and marveled at the beauty of the building right in front of us.
There was an electric board sitting atop the building with the word ‘Sheila Celeste’ scribbled in block letters. I stood there, stupefied and speechless.
Cameron checked softly and slid a hand around my waist. “C'mon, the food will get cold.”
I mindlessly followed him inside and the interior was as beautiful as the outside. A young man received us and led us to a table. The place was empty save for our presence. Waiters filed in, serving us a plate of everything, I kept mute, dumbstruck and astonished.
“Let's eat.” Cameron said, as if all of this was normal.
“What the hell is happening?” I asked, finally snapping out of my stupefied state.
“Its the official opening of your restaurant, I thought it'd only be right if you were first to dine here.” He said, nonchalantly as he began to eat.
“You bought me a restaurant?”
“As a gift for passing your examinations, why don't you like it?”
I was astonished and scoffed in bewilderment. “You bought me a freaking restaurant?”
“Yes, stop acting like it's a big deal and eat. People will begin to troop in here tomorrow, you should rate your chefs first.”
Cameron urged me to eat and when I tasted the food, it was not only delicious but heavenly, I didn't even realize that I was chomping down on it like it was the only thing I'm passionate about.
A waiter brought some red wine and Cameron clapped his hand, the lights went dim and a slow passionate romantic song played in the background instead. I chuckled excitedly and ceased eating since I was full.
“Shall we dance?” Cameron asked, standing up and offering me his hands.
“Of course we shall.” I replied, playing along with it.
He took my hands, grabbed my waist and we slowly moved our body to the rhythms of the music playing. I giggled like a child as I wad flustered, there was nothing more attractive than this. He leaned in so close that I could feel his breath on my body.
“You look extra beautiful tonight Sheila.” He praised and the song immediately changed to perfect by Ed Sheeran.
He sang along and I was proper embarrassed but I loved every minute of it. He broke our dance and did a little dance of his own, singing passionately and even shook his bum to the music but ended it by kneeling in front of me.
“I don’t deserve this, baby you look perfect tonight.” He sang, in sync with the music then it stopped.
He was almost out of breath and I smiled, genuinely. I reached over and kissed him, he was astonished by this bold move but I wasn't. I deepened the kiss, translating my passion and perhaps gratitude and loss to him.
I could feel him laugh against my lips then he took over, reciprocating the kiss but his kiss held different emotions, respect, love and possessiveness. It was as if he was telling me, informing my wolf that I belonged to him and she howled in my head, beseeching him to take the country from us.
He pulled away and hugged me tightly.
“You claim you don't miss me but your body and kiss says otherwise. “ he whispered in my ears, teasingly.
At that moment, I didn't care where we were, I wanted him to rip off my dress and make rough love to me. I closed my eyes and imagined his long erect pnis inside of me and the thought of it alone made a soft moan escape my lips.
“Not now tigress, you have to go to work by morning.” Cameron cautioned as he pulled away from the hug and pinched thr bridge of my nose.
I felt my cheeks turn pink, flushed with embarrassment as I wore my horniness on my face but he wouldn't let me look away. He kissed me briefly on the lips to wrap it up.
“Let's go home, I bet Xyla will still be up and she misses her mommy terribly.”
“Hmmm.” I acknowledged his words.
The chefs came to introduce themselves to me and I commended them for the great work they did and gave them the go-ahead to prepare such delicious mouth-watering dishes for the restaurant.
Cameron left them tips, saying it was for good luck and we left the restaurant wirh him holding my hands as if I were a delicate egg he was scared would crack and break at the slightest touch.
True to his words, Xyla was still up, waiting for me and screamed excitedly at thr top of her lungs when she saw me.
“Mommy! I missed you.”
I embraced her warmly, inhaling the scent of my precious little daughter but she broke off the hug and turned her attention to Cameron. She tugged at his trousers and motioned with her tiny hands for him to squat, when he did, she threw her hands around his neck and hugged him as well.
“Daddy is home!” She sang.
I felt a sting in my eyes. She called him daddy. Cameron was equally shocked and he looked into my eyes for approval, I nodded gently and he hugged her back. He stood up and twirled her around in a circular motion while she laughed and giggled uncontrollably.
“Little Xyla is a little aeroplane, look at her fly, whewwwww” Cameron said, playfully, as he made airplane noises.
He then set her down so she wouldn't be dizzy and patted her hair. “You've grown an inch taller since i last saw you, haven't you?” He teased and she nodded her head innocently, beaming wirh smiles.
My heart swell with pride as I watched the bond between them grow. They bonded effortlessly though at first i was afraid Xyla wouldn't get along well with him but she did. Though she had no idea that he was in fact her father neither did Cameron know that she's his daughter yet he has treated her like his since the day he accepted me.
I felt guilt wash over me, it was unfair to keep such a huge secret from him, he was smooth wirh Xyla and I could see that he cares so much about her but if hee knew that she is the product of the passionate lustful one night stand we had when we first met, I'm scared he'd take her away from me.
One day, maybe one day, I'll bring myself to tell him and ask for forgiveness but until then, I'm content with them creating their unbreakable bond of love.
