Chapter 46 My sister... she's cheating!
"Celeste, what are you doing here?!"
Chloe was shocked by Celeste's glowing look and the faint red marks on her neck, instantly realizing what she had been up to last night.
Celeste casually nibbled on some snacks and stretched lazily, accidentally wrapping her arm around Nathaniel's. Her flirtatious gaze infuriated Chloe.
Nathaniel's eyes softened even more. He loved it when Celeste acted spoiled, reminding him of a tamed wildcat.
"Nathaniel, didn't you say your private lounge was off-limits to everyone?" Chloe couldn't hide her irritation at their display of affection.
"Celeste is my wife; she's the exception," Nathaniel replied, handing her more sweets indulgently—she loved her treats.
"Why her? Nathaniel, you don't understand, she's nothing but trouble..." Chloe was desperate to spill something.
She had dug up some dirt on Celeste, including evidence of her involvement in past school fights and brawls.
But before she could lay it out, Nathaniel's icy stare stopped her.
"That's enough! Felix, show her out."
"But..."
"Out!" Nathaniel's voice was firm and displeased.
Seeing his reaction, and knowing how hard it had been to save the White Group, Chloe didn't dare push further. She bit her lip, slapped the documents on the table, and glared bitterly at Celeste.
"This is all her past misdeeds! Nathaniel, just look and you'll see!"
Celeste just lifted an eyebrow, her gaze serene yet mocking.
She looked down on Chloe, unconcerned by the accusations.
Was this about the so-called "school violence" again?
Who was it, constantly dredging them up to target her?
"Past misdeeds?" Nathaniel barely glanced at the documents on the table, clearly uninterested.
Celeste didn't try to stop him. She was confident and upright, not intimidated by these accusations.
Instead, she saw this as a chance to draw out whoever was targeting her, to avoid being blindsided by hidden enemies.
Felix then quietly took a call and whispered something about a meeting to Nathaniel—perhaps it was about an important client, Mr. Ford?
Celeste didn't dwell on it and yawned elegantly. "Mr. Ford, I've got plans with my sister tonight, so I'll be off."
"Alright."
After Celeste left, Nathaniel finally looked at the documents Chloe had brought, frowning briefly before dismissing them.
He then quietly instructed Felix, "The boss wants a meeting; of course, I'll go. But this time, I need to get what I want, or else… let the higher-ups know, this guy doesn't need to stay around."
…
Celeste stepped out of the car at South Town Villa, looking effortlessly chic in a simple black gown with her hair swept up, exposing her delicate neck. A necklace with a hint of emerald green added a subtle touch of elegance.
Despite her understated style, she immediately caught someone's eye.
"Who is that? I've never seen her before. With such stunning looks, how could I have missed her?" Elias, mid-drink with others, was instantly captivated by Celeste's entrance.
His expert, scrutinizing gaze knew instantly that no matter how low-key her outfit seemed, Celeste was a true beauty.
"That's my sister!" Ava quickly leaned in, playfully scratching Elias's hand while batting her eyelashes seductively. "Uncle, oh no... husband, maybe later my sister could join you in your room?"
Elias, ever the lecher, didn't need any further convincing.
"But would she agree to that?"
"What if she doesn't? Celeste may be smart, but do you think I'm out of tricks?" Ava swirled her drink, which she had spiked, and added sinisterly, "Even if she doesn't drink this, I've got other plans for her!"
She whispered something in Elias's ear, and his chubby face broke into an excited grin.
"Go on then!" He patted Ava's rear enthusiastically, though his eyes never strayed from Celeste.
He thought to himself that Celeste, being more authentic, would probably feel much better than Ava.
Ava nodded and approached Celeste.
"Sister, it's your own fault for being so flirtatious. Don't blame me for not being nice!" Ava thought.
"Sister, Mom, Dad, and my husband are all waiting in the room. Follow me," Ava said, holding a tray with drinks and handing Celeste a glass, her smile urging her to drink.
Celeste glanced at the transparent glass, the liquid inside reflecting Ava's cruel intentions.
"Sister, aren't you going to drink?" Ava asked, her tone urgent.
Isn't this tactic a bit too clumsy? Celeste thought, well aware of the spiked drink.
"If you're worried, let's switch glasses," Ava suggested, swapping their drinks and quickly downing hers.
What?
Celeste then drank from the other glass, knowing that the real issue was likely not with the drinks themselves, and calmly followed Ava.
It was not easy to get here, and even harder to gain access to Elias's room for information.
Was Ava really giving her such an opportunity on a silver platter?
She was curious to see what other schemes Ava could concoct with her limited cunning.
"Here we are. Sister, go ahead,"
Ava said as they passed through the living room and turned down a corridor, stopping in front of a slightly open door.
Ava pushed the door open and they both entered a room that was opulently decorated yet lit with a soft pink glow.
Oddly shaped items were strewn across a table.
There was a strange fragrance lingering in the air...
Celeste found the scent overwhelming and quickly covered her nose and mouth, turning to leave.
But before she could get far, Ava grabbed her wrist tightly.
"Think you can just leave after walking in?"
"You..." Celest felt a sudden wave of dizziness. "What the hell did you do?"
Ava grinned with satisfaction. "I went to great lengths to find this stuff. It's actually illegal—very strong. It's used to spice things up, evaporating into the air when burned."
"Well, well, well, dear sister, it seems you've finally fallen into my trap. Enjoy the ride—"
Saying this, she pushed Celeste deeper into the room and quickly sent out a pre-typed message. "South Town Villa Room No. 1, Mr. Ford, my sister... she's cheating!"
Pushed forward by Ava, Celeste stumbled a few steps and then saw the man in the room—a chubby guy wearing only a towel around his waist, walking towards them with a sleazy grin.
It was Elias, no doubt about it!
