Chapter 96 Bias
"I knew it was his problem. He probably thought I would fall for it, just like you would. Women are all so foolish, but Grayson was right about one thing - with Brandon by your side, how could you possibly be interested in him? Where did he get the confidence from?"
Victoria fell silent for a moment, but then thought about it and admitted, "Well, Brandon is certainly much better looking than most men. But other than that, he doesn't have any other good qualities and he doesn't respect people."
"No one is perfect," Heidi sighed.
Brandon looked at Grayson and asked, "Did Felix get away?"
"Yeah, we let him go. But we had someone follow him. Why did you let him go?"
"What do you think he'll do after he messes up?" Brandon asked.
Grayson immediately remembered, "He'll go to the people behind him for help."
"Exactly."
As expected, Felix quickly went to find the people from Huan Yu for help.
"What did you say? Victoria set you up? Ha, I told you she might not be interested in you. You didn't believe me."
"I didn't expect her to be so despicable..." Felix was furious. "But you can't just leave me alone. I offended Heidi for her sake..."
"It's not our fault. We thought you had some talent when you managed to fool Heidi before. That's why we used you. Who knew you were so useless?" The man walked away, brushing off his sleeves.
"Don't, don't..." Felix pleaded desperately.
"If you keep bothering me, be careful I'll hand you over to Brandon. He's not a good guy,and once he gets his hands on you, do you think you'll survive?"
Felix's heart sank. In the villa, Brandon looked at the photo. "It's definitely one of Fernando's people."
"Why does your uncle keep going against you?"
Brandon looked deeply at Victoria and walked into her room with the photo. "This is the person behind Felix. He's Fernando's confidant."
Looking at the person in the photo, who was indeed the same person she had met before, Victoria asked, "But why did Fernando send him to get close to me?"
"If you follow me, you'll become a thorn in his side. Be careful of those who get close to you. They may have bad intentions. Don't get too close to people."
Victoria's heart sank.
As his wife, was she not even allowed to interact with people?
He was really domineering.
At this moment, a servant came in and said they were preparing to go to the old house for the Mid-Autumn Festival.
Victoria quickly got up and followed him to the car. When they arrived at the old house, she walked into the living room and saw Lisa sitting next to Diana, who had a smug look on her face and quickly concealed her jealousy when she saw Victoria's come in with Brandon. "Lisa said, "Brandon, you're back. Come sit down."
Fernando smiled, "Brandon is still the best. You're a lucky man. That's what people say about you now. It's really enviable."
Brandon sat down at a distant spot without any expression. Victoria could only sit next to him under the curious or mocking gazes of others. Soon, the old lady came in for dinner and upon seeing Victoria, she smiled and said, "Victoria, we have prepared your favorite food for you, come and have some."
At this moment, Lisa stood up and said, "Mom, you can't just be nice to Victoria. Diana is also pregnant, and we can't be biased." The old Madam Duncan looked up and saw Diana's slightly aggrieved expression. Her face turned cold and she said, "You can't just bring anything back from outside. Who knows what kind of disease it might carry and infect Victoria? Can you bear the responsibility?"
Lisa argued, "Grandma, you can't say that. Diana's baby is innocent, and they are all descendants of the Duncan Family."
The old Madam Duncan sneered, "How do you know it's a Duncan Family descendant? Who knows where it came from?" Lisa glanced at Victoria and said, "If that's the case, then Victoria's baby is also suspicious. It came too fast. Who knows where it came from?"
Victoria's hand tightened. The old Madam Duncan said, "Victoria is Brandon's legitimate wife, and her child is naturally Brandon's."
Lisa hummed, "You are biased." The old Madam Duncan glared at Diana and said, "I've said my piece. Even if you insist on having this child, the Duncan Family will not recognize it."
With that, she pulled Victoria and went inside. Diana's nails dug into her palms. How did Victoria manage to deceive the old lady and gain her favor? Victoria was no match for her. Lisa's face was also unpleasant, but she still held onto Diana and said, "It's no use being aggrieved. If you want it, you have to fight for it yourself." She hinted at Brandon, who had just walked in.
Diana's heart stirred, and she made up her mind to win Brandon back.
As they were eating, the old lady kept serving Victoria, making her the envy of everyone.
Feeling embarrassed by the attention, Victoria quickly found an excuse to go to the restroom.
Outside, she overheard the servants talking.
"Poor young mistress, she finally got pregnant, but the other woman got pregnant too."
"What's so pitiful about that? I heard she's the third party. Miss Evans knew the young master a long time ago and he personally picked her up to go to the villa. She still lives there, but the young mistress somehow managed to snatch the young master away from her. She rarely goes to the villa these days, and a few days ago, she even took the young master's spare card from Miss Evans."
"Wow, I didn't expect the young mistress to be so cunning. She looks so innocent."
"You can't judge a book by its cover. The young master was deceived, and he treated her well. He still has feelings for Miss Evans, and they'll probably get back together sooner or later."
Victoria bit her lip and waited for the servants to leave before she came out.
Was she the third party?
Meanwhile, Diana watched Brandon from afar and suddenly walked over to him.
"Mr. Duncan."
Brandon frowned. "Why did you come to the estate?"
"I didn't want to, but Madam Duncan found me and asked me to come. I was afraid she would be angry if I didn't come, so I had to come. Mr. Duncan, please don't be angry."
Brandon gave a cold smile. "I don't care why you're here. If you can leave peacefully tomorrow, I'll pretend nothing happened."
He put his hands in his pockets and turned to leave, but Diana suddenly clutched her stomach.
"Ah... Mr. Duncan, I'm sorry, I really didn't mean to, I'll be very sad if you're angry, but now my stomach hurts a bit, could you please help me inside?"
He turned back and looked at Diana, who was leaning against the wall, as if she could faint at any moment.
