Chapter 17 Call Brandon
"Dad, if you drive Victoria away, I'll leave with her!" Heidi shouted at Master Miller, her eyes turning red.
Diana almost burst out laughing, leaning back in her chair and looking down on Victoria like a drowning dog.
"Don't make things difficult for your uncle, okay? Your uncle knows that those who know the times are wise, understand?"
The people behind them looked even more admiringly at Diana.
As an elder, Master Miller didn't dare say anything to her. It was really enviable.
At this point, Bella looked over at Victoria on the side.
The best way to please Diana was to embarrass Victoria!
She pointed directly at Victoria and said, "It's all because of you that this reception looks so bad. How dare you stay here? Uncle, I think you should just kick her out and remind Heidi to be careful when making friends, not to make friends with just anyone."
"What did you say?" Heidi was so angry she wanted to rush over.
Master Miller quickly held her back and looked at Victoria behind them.
Victoria had been with him since she was a child, so he had some feelings for her, but what could he do now?
Diana couldn't contain her smile as she looked at Bella, showing her approval.
Seeing Diana's smug expression and Heidi's frustration, Victoria couldn't stand it any longer.
"Diana, do you really want me to reveal your true identity as Victoria's girlfriend?" Victoria stepped forward, her eyes darting between Diana and Heidi. Everyone was surprised by Victoria's sudden outburst.
Diana stood up, her eyes constantly shifting as she glared at Victoria. "What are you talking about?" she demanded.
Victoria couldn't possibly reveal the truth, as Victoria was on Diana's side. But Diana didn't know that.
Bella was also confused by Victoria's reference to a "cover-up."
Diana threatened Victoria's, "Who do you think you are? Do you want Brandon to kick you out of High City?"
Victoria didn't back down. "I'm not afraid of Brandon. I know the truth, and I won't let you bully Heidi anymore," she said firmly.
Victoria, however, showed no fear at all. She chuckled and said, "Believe it or not, I won't be the one who gets kicked out of High City in the end."
"Haha, are you dreaming? You don't even know what I mean to Brandon."
She was Brandon's savior!
Victoria smiled mischievously. "Okay, I'll have Brandon come and tell you himself what you mean to him."
What?
Victoria also knew Brandon?
Everyone was shocked and looked at her in disbelief.
Victoria picked up the phone and dialed out directly.
Brandon was still in a meeting. Not many people were left in his project team, but after a year, those who were eliminated were not loyal enough. Those who stayed naturally became his core team.
At this moment, when he saw his phone ringing, everyone fell silent. But Brandon frowned and looked at the phone, but didn't answer it.
Why did Victoria call herself?
She seemed to have gone out to see her friends today, so there shouldn't be anything important.
Brandon hung up the phone?
Victoria looked bewildered, staring at the hung-up phone, feeling angry.
This guy, how could he drop the ball at a critical moment?
Seeing that Victoria didn't answer the phone, Bella couldn't help but burst out laughing.
"Are you kidding me? You called Brandon and no one answered?"
Diana's heart, which had just been raised, relaxed.
She thought Victoria really would call Brandon, but it turned out to be just a scare. Brandon thought Victoria married him for money and wanted to steal his sperm. How could he stand up for her?
Heidi's face turned black and she pulled Victoria over. "Don't speak ill of Victoria. Do you even know who she is?"
After such an unanswered call, everyone thought Victoria was a fraud. How could they believe she was who she claimed to be?
"Don't tell me you're Brandon's woman," Ellie said.
"That's ridiculous. Why wouldn't your man answer your call?" Bella laughed. Victoria bit her lip and cursed Brandon in her heart before standing up again. "What's wrong? Can't he be busy?"
As she spoke, she dialed the number again, under the mocking gazes of everyone in the meeting room.
Brandon looked at the number and cursed inwardly.
What the hell is wrong with this woman?
But she had called twice in a row, could it be that something was really wrong?
His dark eyebrows twitched, and in the end, he picked up the phone.
"What's the matter?"
"Brandon."
Victoria thought he might not answer her call, but when she heard his angry voice, she couldn't help but raise her voice in excitement.
On the other end, the faces of the people watching her changed slightly.
Victoria didn't notice them and continued to say with a sad face, "I'm at the Wanmao Hotel, but I was just bullied. I feel really uncomfortable now. Someone wants to kick me out of High City. I don't think I can go back today, so I just wanted to say goodbye to you. I hope you don't forget about me."
Brandon eyes narrowed as he listened and he understood what was going on.
Who wanted her to leave High City?
He stood up and said coldly to Elijah, "Go and find out what's going on over there."
Victoria's voice didn't sound quite right, but she was also speaking vaguely.
Elijah quickly went to ask and hesitated before saying, "Miss Griffin went to Miss Miller's welcome party and ran into Miss Evans..."
From the moment Mr. X woke up, these ladies had been making a fuss non-stop, and he was truly speechless.
Women have so many things going on, no wonder they say, "Three women make a play."
Brandon frowned tightly. He understood what was going on. This woman wanted to vent her anger and threatened him to make a decision for her!
He knew that he had previously dealt with her twice for Diana. He never expected her to hold a grudge.
It was bad enough that she held a grudge, but now she wanted him to help her vent her anger? Did she really think that the world couldn't function without her?
Elijah felt his deep anger pouring out from his tall figure and couldn't help but sweat for Miss Griffin.
Meanwhile, Victoria, who had hung up the phone, anxiously waited, uncertain of her position in Brandon's heart.
After all, a designer could be replaced at any time, but he was Brandon.
As time passed by, and seeing that Brandon had not moved, Diana's heart also sank.
"Victoria, are you still pretending to be rich here? Uncle, she's so vain and deceitful, willing to deceive people just to scare them. Can you let Heidi continue to be fooled by her?"
Master Miller was also confused by what was said. Was Victoria really deceiving people? But it was true that two calls had been made with no response. People can change, and he had watched Victoria grow up, but they hadn't spent time together in years. Perhaps she had changed. "Victoria...I think you should go back first. It's too busy at home today and it's not convenient for us to entertain you," said the uncle. Victoria's face turned pale.
Bella couldn't help but start pushing her out. "You have no shame. Uncle is already asking you to leave, why aren't you leaving?"
"You're just a liar, so fake," added Bella.
Victoria was pushed out by the two of them and looked at Heidi, who was still confused and lost. She couldn't help but bite her lip.
Just then, a dark figure caught their attention from outside, followed by a pair of high-end handmade custom leather shoes stepping into the hall...
