Chapter 117 Retribution will come
Everyone was shocked as they looked at Victoria. Who would have thought that such a seemingly innocent girl could be so heartless behind the scenes? Victoria looked at Diana, tears streaming down her face. She had never realized before just how convincing Diana's acting could be. "Diana, you fell down the stairs yourself. Are you really trying to deceive everyone, even yourself, with these tears? I pity your innocent child," Victoria said.
Diana shouted even louder at the people around her, "Listen to me, everyone! Is what she's saying even human? I'm the child's mother, how could I harm my own child? And besides, that child is Brandon's!"
Yesenia was shocked and cautiously pulled at Victoria's sleeve. "How could this be? She's pregnant with Brandon's child? Brandon...when he lost the child, didn't he get angry? What if he thinks Victoria caused it and seeks revenge?"
She was really scared. Everyone had heard what Diana said and exclaimed, "No way, Victoria is so bold!"
"Then doesn't that mean Victoria killed Brandon's child?"
"No wonder that lady said she was jealous of being able to conceive Brandon's child. Who wouldn't be jealous?"
"Well, it seems like what she said was right. She was pregnant with Brandon's child, so why would she be willing to kill it?"
Diana saw that everyone was starting to speak up for her and her heart lifted. She looked at Victoria, crying, "Give me back my child's life!"
Victoria bit her lip and walked towards her, angry. She grabbed her by the arm.
"Victoria, what are you doing? Let go of me," Diana exclaimed in surprise, and Yesenia was equally shocked.
"Victoria, don't do this, don't be impulsive..."
Is Victoria crazy? How could she dare to touch Diana at this time? If Brandon finds out...
Victoria quickly pulled Diana outside.
Diana kept shouting, but Victoria slapped her in the face.
"What are you doing?" Diana glared at Victoria, "Are you looking for trouble? How dare you hit me?"
"I can't believe how shameless you are. You know that you're carrying someone else's child, not Brandon's, and yet you still come to my company to cause trouble."
Diana smiled, "What's wrong? Are you going to record me again? I'm carrying Brandon's child, whether you believe it or not." Having been fooled once, Diana wouldn't say anything casually in front of Victoria again.
Looking at Victoria's expressionless face, Diana laughed, "How about that? I just want to ruin your reputation and let everyone know what kind of person you are! I'm not happy, and neither will you be."
Victoria had encountered this kind of person before and couldn't help but laugh, "It's up to you. I've been living with this kind of gossip for a long time and have adapted to it, but don't think you can come to our company again."
Diana laughed, "I'll come, and I'll keep coming."
Victoria grabbed her wrist fiercely, "Do you want me to use force?"
"Stop."
At this moment, Brandon's voice came from behind.
He walked out from behind, looked at Diana, and his eyes sank.
Diana cried as soon as she saw him, "Brandon, you're here. I thought I lost the baby and you didn't care about me anymore..."
Victoria looked up, "Brandon, you're still going to help her, aren't you?"
Brandon's face was expressionless, "You go back first."
"Huh, what, are you upset that I'm helping her?"
Victoria bit her lip, raised her wrist, and slapped Diana hard in the face in front of Brandon.
"Ah..." Diana covered her face and cried in pain.
Victoria knew that she wouldn't fight back in front of Brandon!
Brandon grabbed Victoria's wrist, "You go back, if you don't go back, be careful that you won't be able to work again for the rest of your life!"
Victoria smiled bitterly.
This man could trust anyone, but he would never trust her.
She gave Diana a fierce look, turned around and left.
Brandon glanced at her back and heard Diana crying, "You saw it, she's so arrogant. If this continues, I won't be able to survive. She's going to torture me to death sooner or later! I know she hates me, but why won't she let me go when I'm already like this?"
Brandon furrowed his brows and motioned for her to follow him. When they were alone, he looked at her intently and said, "I don't want to see you again. Leave High City now."
Diana was taken aback. Was Brandon still on Victoria's side? She bit her lip and asked, unwilling to accept it, "Brandon, have you fallen in love with Victoria? Why do you always defend her?"
Love? Brandon squinted his eyes and was momentarily lost in thought. He didn't know what love was, and perhaps he was no longer worthy of loving anyone.
"This has nothing to do with you," he said, not denying her accusation.
Diana's heart sank. Why was she not as good as Victoria? Why couldn't she compete with someone who was just a future designer?
She suddenly laughed coldly. "No, I'm not leaving. Not only that, if you don't treat me well, I'll tell everyone that I'm carrying your child, and Victoria killed my child. I'll let the whole world know that this future designer has no face to show in public."
Brandon's eyes darkened instantly, and he glared at her fiercely. "Do you want to leave High City standing up or lying down?"
"Diana," she said, indifferent to his threat. "I saved your life, and yet you're willing to harm me. Aren't you afraid of retribution?"
The three words "retribution is coming" made Brandon's hand tighten slightly. "And, how do you know that no one else knows about this? If I disappear, do you believe that this matter will be even harder to cover up? With the internet being so developed nowadays, even if you try to cover it up, you may not be able to stop all the rumors!" Diana said.
Brandon looked at her fiercely. "What do you want?"
Seeing that he was indeed loosening up, Diana felt bitter in her heart. He really valued Victoria after all, but at the same time, she felt a little relieved. "Let me continue living in the Riverside Villa. You can't interfere with what others say about me. As long as I live happily, I won't make Victoria unhappy. If I don't live well, no one will be happy," she said.
Duncan Jing's voice was slightly cold. "Okay, I promise you."
After speaking, he turned and walked away. Elijah followed him.
"Sir, making her disappear is not impossible. She really thinks it's that easy to expose us," Elijah said.
"But, she is my lifesaver," Duncan looked up at the sky. "I really don't want to suffer retribution again."
