Chapter 89

"President Chester, are you sure this is a great idea?" Gerald whispered, following him behind.

"I have never been more or less concerned about my decisions other than now" he responded, adjusting his collar before he pushed the door open. "Wait outside" he ordered Gerald.

As soon as he walked in, he could see the children in their room as their room was half open.

Olivia tried to let out a scream but she was too shocked to do that. The laundry basket full of clothes she was holding in her hands fell to the floor. By just looking at her eyes, one could tell the speed at which her heart was racing and how nervous she seemed.

She took a quick glance through the window, hoping to find one of the guards to pass a signal to him at least. To her disappointment, she found no one.

"What....what are you doing here" she stuttered, taking a few steps backwards

He ignored her and scurried to where she was standing, pressing her against the wall.

"Chester, what are you doing in my house?" She probed, getting upset at his behavior.

He chuckled at her pride after taking his daughter away from him. "You mean the house Aldo got for you? How can you still be proud?" He scoffed as he stared at her eyes. "How can you still be so confident? Huh? I guess I undermined you" he whispered, moving his hands to her neck.

"Who are you, really?"

She was silent.

He smiled at her silence. "I told you, I'm not your husband, I will strangle you to death, and trust me when I say no one will say a word about it, not even your children in years to come. For the last time, who are you?"

"I am who I am" she responded, glaring at him.

He chuckled softly at her confidence even in the face of death. "You think I can't kill you, yeah?" He probed, strangling her neck harder.

She grunted and winced in pain, trying to fight against his grip but his grip was firm and he was far stronger than her.

She chuckled while enjoying the anger written all over his face. "No Chester, I'm not scared of death. After dying once, it doesn't scare me anymore" she explained with a smile.

He smiled scornfully. "I guess dying in front of your kids won't be a big idea. Should I drop you in their room right now? Wait, do I call them to run here and watch you struggle for life?"

She frowned. "I see you're pretty determined to end our lives nonetheless. Aldo was right, I should have listened to him from the get-go. You are worse than I imagined"

He scoffed. "He probably must have told you that I was after you, yeah? Guess what? I don't care Olivia. This is your last chance, what is Adriana doing here and who are you?"

"Chester is in Dradevows" Aldo announced, hanging up.

"Fuck! How does he manage to move so fast?"

Aldo inhaled and exhaled.

"What do we do?"

"He must have found Olivia already"

"What?" She asked in shock, rising to her feet. "That... he's going to find out about her!"

"Unfortunately....."

"Say something, Aldo, stop doing this!"

"I'm thinking" he responded in a low tone, pacing around the room.

"Chester cannot find out about Olivia. All of our efforts so far will be wasted, he is definitely going to return to her. We must do something to stop them, Aldo"

He paused and turned to her. "What? What do we do? Chester is the winner here"

"Never!" She yelled. "I've gone too far to fail again, Aldo. Aldo! This is a lot, I cannot fail now, we cannot lose, not when we are this close"

"Hit the nail on the head"

She scoffed at his coldness. "It's simple. Let's end her....again"

Aldo turned to face her.

"She is not Adriana, Chester will not be bothered. He doesn't care about her anyways"

"But he will the moment he finds out about her"

"Oh, well.... it will be just another heartbreaking experience from his end. We can compensate him by keeping the kids alive. I think I can endure them"

Aldo's face lit up with a smile. He presented his palms before her and proposed; "Let's go to Dradevows now. Let's end it all for the last time"

She smiled as she took his hands.

"What is Adriana doing here?" She sighed. "I think your confidence is admirable. How dare you ask me who my daughter is to me? What else is she supposed to do other than being my child?!" She shouted.

He released his grip from her neck and took a step backward. "What do you mean?"

"Yes. The nanny has been indirectly taking care of her child"

He moved closer to her angrily, pressing her shoulders against the wall. "You think I'm joking here, huh? You think I'm here to entertain another of your silly jokes?"

"Why will I be having fun with you?"

"Let's find out" he whispered, strangling her again, this time tightening his grip that she was almost at the point of death.

He released his grip, watching her pant, cough, and struggle to catch her breath.

"I do not like to repeat myself but I'm trying as much as possible to be patient here with you because your kids are indoors. Who are you? Why is Adriana with you and what is your motive?" He repeated, panting softly.

She held her neck, coughing loudly as she crouched down. "I was right all along. Something has always felt odd about you from the moment I met you but I just couldn't get it right, I just couldn't wrap my head around it. She chuckled and continued. I did, I found the missing piece of the puzzle. It was a red flag but I told myself you were not the problem, I was. Maybe I was colorblind or probably messing things up in my head. How can you not see it? I'm your fucking ex-wife, Chester! I'm Olivia!"
