Chapter 424 Extra 3: Timothy's Princess
In the evening.
Demetrius ordered a small cake with a question mark-shaped candle on top.
For birthdays, you should at least make a wish.
Seraphina's wish every year was always the same: may her family all be healthy.
She made her wish sincerely and blew out the candle.
Since it was so late, Demetrius wouldn't let her eat the cake. After she blew out the candle, he took it to the fridge.
"Mr. Kramer, can't I just have one bite of frosting?"
"You think you're not fat enough already?"
Seraphina glared at him.
With words like that, they could practically start a fight.
Demetrius poured two glasses of milk, giving one to Seraphina while he drank one himself.
It was hard to imagine that someone as cold as Demetrius would drink milk.
Seraphina held her glass and clinked it with Demetrius's, smiling. "Cheers, Mr. Kramer. When you agreed to marry me back then, it really was unfair to you. I know you like beautiful women with nice curves."
Demetrius said, "Why are you suddenly bringing this up out of nowhere?"
That was so many years ago.
Seraphina licked the milk from her lips. "Just thinking about it. If you want to find another woman who matches your taste while you're still young, we can get divorced."
Demetrius held back his anger and didn't blow up. "I gave you milk, not alcohol. Don't talk nonsense, understand?"
Seraphina raised her eyebrows, completely unaware that she had stirred up Demetrius's anger. "Fine, fine, I won't bring it up. I heard some men can still find young, beautiful women even in their seventies or eighties."
Demetrius's gray eyes stared darkly at Seraphina.
Seraphina shifted her body. "What's with that look? It's kind of scary."
Demetrius said flatly, "Thankfully, Valentin inherited my intelligence, not your lack of brains."
Seraphina finished her milk and handed him the empty glass. She really did think he had been wronged.
Her marriage to Demetrius was something she had demanded on impulse.
Back then, it was about a month after Timothy and Elizabeth had gone traveling.
Neither Seraphina nor Stefan had expected Jane to take such extreme measures.
Jane had actually found someone with a sexually transmitted disease to sleep with Wilmer.
Seraphina received a text from Stefan telling her about Wilmer's situation. Stefan asked Seraphina to come to Majestic City as soon as possible.
Wilmer had been hospitalized because of the disease, and his temper was very unstable.
The reason Wilmer got sick stemmed from the conflict between Jane and Seraphina.
Stefan had already advised Wilmer not to get too close to Jane, and this outcome was the result of Wilmer not listening.
Because of Stefan's text, Seraphina went to the hospital in Majestic City.
However, when Seraphina arrived at the hospital, she discovered things weren't simple.
The text hadn't been from Stefan at all, but from Wilmer, who had used Stefan's phone to contact her.
The moment Wilmer saw her in the hospital room, his emotions exploded instantly.
He jumped up from the bed and rushed at Seraphina furiously, knocking her down.
Wilmer's voice carried a hint of madness. "The way I am now is all because of you!"
It all happened too fast. Seraphina was caught off guard and was knocked to the ground by Wilmer's force.
The bodyguards stationed outside the room heard the commotion and rushed in to pull Wilmer off Seraphina.
That day, Seraphina gave Wilmer some money as compensation and had a final thorough talk with Stefan.
After leaving the hospital, Seraphina didn't return to Border Ridge City. Instead, she flew directly to the Kramer Group in Solstice.
She found Demetrius's father, Gregory, and asked about the medication for treating her father Timothy.
It was that same day, with her nose red from crying, that Seraphina asked Demetrius if he wanted to go register their marriage.
Demetrius didn't know what he was thinking at the time, but he agreed.
The two of them went straight to the marriage registration office like it was child's play and got their certificate.
Seraphina took a photo of the marriage certificate and sent it directly to Elizabeth and Timothy.
Looking back now, Seraphina thought maybe Demetrius agreed to register their marriage back then because she was crying so pitifully?
Seeing Seraphina seemingly lost in thought, Demetrius pinched her face. "What are you thinking about? Did you hear what I just said?"
Seraphina blinked. "What did you say?"
Demetrius snorted. "I'm leaving Border Ridge City tomorrow. The company has been really busy lately."
"Okay," Seraphina cleared her throat and asked something she'd wanted to ask for years. "Mr. Kramer, why did you agree to register our marriage back then?"
"Want to hear the truth?"
"Of course I want to hear the truth."
Demetrius gave Seraphina a meaningful look.
The moment Seraphina saw that look, she knew Demetrius definitely wouldn't say anything nice. "Never mind, don't tell me."
Demetrius said flatly, "Alright, go to sleep."
He had thought she looked a bit pitiful at the time, and besides, for him, registering a marriage meant you could also register a divorce—it was simple.
The two returned to the bedroom.
Seraphina hesitated a bit, asking somewhat shyly, "Mr. Kramer, did you come back this time specifically for my birthday?"
Demetrius unbuttoned his shirt and simply acknowledged it.
The good thing about not seeing each other often was that when they did meet, they made love many times.
Demetrius squeezed Seraphina's soft flesh.
Her body was so smooth and tender.
When Demetrius was in bed, he lost his usual coldness, and his satisfied expression was stunning.
He picked her up to go shower. She seemed a bit lighter than last month. He frowned. "Seraphina, are you taking diet pills?"
Taking diet pills was something Seraphina had actually done before, but after Demetrius found out, he had severely criticized her.
Seraphina touched her own face. "No, I'm still plenty fleshy."
She had actually lost a lot of weight compared to ten years ago, but she hadn't gotten slim—her figure was still plump and fleshy.
Anyway, Seraphina was quite satisfied with herself. If she ever got sick, she could lose more weight then.
The next day, in the small town.
After the car was repaired, Brandon and Valentin hit the road. They were heading to the airport.
Brandon was a very good driver.
But he didn't expect someone to be such a bad driver.
When they reached the airport and were about to pull into a parking spot, an accident happened.
A car scraped into the car Brandon was driving.
Brandon frowned, unbuckled his seatbelt, and immediately got out to check the situation.
Valentin's first reaction was to pull out his phone and check the calendar to see if there was any warning against traveling today.
After checking, he muttered that it was actually a good day for travel. He opened the car door and got out to check the situation too.
The person who scraped their car was Matilda.
She was wearing a sleeveless tank top and green casual pants, her wheat-colored skin showing a healthy kind of beauty.
Matilda was rushing to catch a flight and had sped up a bit while driving. She didn't expect to accidentally scrape Brandon's car.
She didn't shirk responsibility at all and immediately apologized. "I'm sorry. However much I need to pay, I'll take responsibility."
Seeing Matilda's sincere attitude, and since he also had a flight to catch with time running short, Brandon said, "Okay. We can contact each other later about the exact amount."
Matilda was relieved to see he was so straightforward.
She glanced at Brandon. Although he was wearing a mask, his eyes and features suggested he was probably good-looking.
Matilda readily pulled out her phone. "Let's add each other on Facebook first so we can stay in touch. And save my phone number too."
Since they were both pressed for time, they didn't waste words.
Brandon walked back to the driver's seat and got his phone from the car. "What should I call you? You can call me Mr. Robinson."
Matilda said, "Call me Ms. Blackwell."
Brandon quickly added Matilda on Facebook, and then he discovered that Matilda was the person who had lent him a hundred dollars yesterday and then blocked him.
Brandon glanced at Matilda. "I've added you."
Matilda accepted the friend request, and then she also discovered that Brandon was the person who had randomly asked to borrow money from her yesterday.
They were awkward for a second, then returned to normal.
Brandon returned the hundred dollars to Matilda. "Ms. Blackwell, thanks for yesterday. I'm in a hurry, so I'll go first."
Sometimes people are just destined to meet.
Brandon didn't expect to run into Matilda again on the plane.
What's more, the three of them happened to be sitting in the same row.
Valentin sat in the innermost seat, Brandon in the middle, and Matilda in the aisle seat.
Matilda had an easygoing personality. When she saw them, she couldn't help but smile, her short, neat hair making her look especially spirited. "Didn't expect you'd also be going to Zephyria."
She asked with a smile, "Are you traveling there?"
Brandon smiled. "No, we're going to find someone. What about you, are you traveling?"
Matilda nodded and smiled. "Yes."
When she accidentally saw the name written on Brandon's ticket, she carefully recalled the name with curiosity. "Your name is Brandon? I had a classmate in kindergarten also named Brandon. By the way, I'm Matilda."
Their kindergarten teacher used to take photos of the children's activities for parents to keep as memories.
They also took graduation photos when the kids graduated.
Matilda occasionally looked through the photos. She had a strong impression of the name Brandon, especially because of Brandon's shiny bald head.
Brandon was stunned for a moment, not expecting such a coincidence. "What a coincidence."
He had once labeled Matilda as "crybaby" in his kindergarten graduation photo.
Brandon and Matilda had both grown up, and their memories of kindergarten were already fuzzy.
After graduating from kindergarten, Matilda had left Border Ridge City with her father Dashiell and moved to their current city.
Valentin turned to look at Brandon and Matilda chatting.
Although Brandon seemed to have a good temper and appeared easy to get along with, in reality, Brandon was very distant with others.
Valentin looked away and, before the plane took off, sent a message to Seraphina: [Mom, we're on the plane, about to fly to Zephyria]
Seraphina's reply came quickly: [Okay, be careful on the road. I'll send you Grandma's address]
After sending the message, Seraphina looked at the two birthday gifts that had just arrived this morning.
One was from Elizabeth, one was from Timothy.
Her dear father Timothy had prepared birthday gifts in advance for both Brandon and Seraphina for every year.
Seraphina put down her phone. She rubbed her hands together, eager to see what gift Timothy had prepared for her this year.
With an excited heart, she opened the gift box. Inside was a pink diamond crown.
Tears instantly flowed from Seraphina's eyes. She was already in her thirties, but in Timothy's eyes, she was still a princess.
