Chapter 211 A Sudden Surprise
The Nightingale Mansion.
Emma had been waiting anxiously in the living room for Freya to return.
As soon as Freya walked in, Emma immediately went up to her, but seeing Freya's unhappy expression, Emma's heart sank.
"There's no reasoning with Elizabeth," Freya said with a frown. "We should focus on trying to get custody of Jane and Tommy."
Emma smiled bitterly and said helplessly in a low voice, "Mr. Robinson won't agree to it."
Freya sighed, patted Emma's hand, and comforted her, "Let's try. Timothy has never been a good father. We can use that, hire a lawyer, and fight for it in court. Things might turn around."
Freya's words gave Emma some confidence.
Actually, Emma knew the Robinson family would never let her take Tommy and Jane away. After all, strictly speaking, Emma was just a surrogate, and Tommy and Jane's real parents had both passed away.
Emma just needed to show Freya that she wanted Tommy and Jane back. "Okay, let's try going to court."
Freya sighed. She went to freshen up first, and after coming back downstairs, she finally had time to talk with Emma properly.
Elizabeth finished her work late at night, around ten o'clock.
When she returned to the hotel, Seraphina was already asleep.
She sat on the sofa, rubbing her temples. "Mabel, thank you for helping me take care of Seraphina today. I'm going to be very busy these next few days. I was planning to have Mr. Robinson take Seraphina home tomorrow to look after her."
Plans really can't keep up with changes.
Mabel blinked and said playfully, "Seraphina is easy to take care of. Elizabeth, just let me look after Seraphina these next few days. I'm really happy to do it."
"You really don't think it's too much trouble?" Elizabeth asked with some concern.
Mabel shook her head vigorously.
She would be returning to Harmony City soon, so naturally she wanted to spend more time with Seraphina.
"Elizabeth, of course I don't think it's trouble. Seraphina is so well-behaved. Leave her to me," Mabel patted her chest, promising, "You can focus on your work. I promise I'll take good care of her."
Seeing Elizabeth's tired face, Mabel told her to wash up and rest early, then left after giving her instructions.
Elizabeth quietly walked to Seraphina's bedside and looked at Seraphina sleeping sprawled out.
Elizabeth couldn't help but laugh and secretly took a photo.
She gently kissed Seraphina's forehead, then walked out to the living room. Elizabeth took out her phone and sent Timothy a message: [Seraphina will stay with Mabel for the next few days. She's going back to Harmony City soon]
Timothy replied quickly: [Let Mabel watch her tomorrow, but the day after I'll take Seraphina home to look after her]
Elizabeth was back, so Elizabeth wouldn't be far away.
Timothy: [You got off work very late today. Rest early. Good night]
Elizabeth was indeed tired. She stretched and was about to take a shower.
Suddenly, a thought flashed through her mind.
She felt a bit puzzled: How did Timothy know she got off work so late?
Elizabeth turned to look at the door, with a vague premonition in her heart.
She walked quietly to the door and gently opened it.
She looked up and saw Timothy leaning against the wall, head down, sending a message.
Timothy heard the door open. He turned his head and saw Elizabeth.
He smiled, his deep eyes looking at her.
"What are you doing here?" Elizabeth asked, somewhat surprised.
Timothy smiled and walked over, his tone gentle. "I came to check on you."
He gently held her hand. "I wanted to see you and Seraphina."
Elizabeth felt the warmth of his palm, and the fatigue in her heart seemed to fade a bit.
Timothy looked at her, his eyes full of tenderness. "I'll just take one look, then leave."
Sometimes, Elizabeth wondered if his sister Annie was more important to Timothy than she was.
But then Elizabeth thought of Quinton. Actually, in her heart, Quinton was also more important than Timothy.
Timothy probably knew this too.
Sometimes when two people are together, they need to be tolerant of each other and make compromises.
If it were Elizabeth, she wouldn't want Quinton to be criticized even after his death.
Since Tommy and Jane had already been born, the mistake already existed, and Timothy couldn't do anything to the two children.
From the beginning, Manuel and Emma had already made everyone believe that Tommy and Jane were Timothy's children.
It was destined somehow.
This time Elizabeth angrily moved out with Seraphina, it was also to give Timothy a warning.
Although Elizabeth would be tolerant, when it came to Seraphina, Elizabeth would get angry too.
"Come in. Seraphina is already asleep." Elizabeth deliberately kept a straight face.
Timothy nodded. He held her hand and wouldn't let go, walking quietly into the room. The door closed.
He went to the bedroom and glanced at the sleeping Seraphina.
Seraphina lay quietly on the bed, her little mouth slightly open, her little face chubby.
Seeing this scene, Timothy's heart filled with tenderness.
Timothy and Elizabeth walked out of the bedroom.
"She's sleeping so soundly," Timothy said in a low voice, his eyes looking at Elizabeth affectionately. "Elizabeth, without you two at home, I can't sleep."
Elizabeth saw Timothy's bloodshot eyes.
She walked closer to him, reached out, wrapped her arms around his waist, and leaned her face against him.
The two just stood there quietly, feeling each other's presence.
Cherishing everything in front of them.
Timothy took a deep breath and said softly, "Alright, I should go now. Rest early, and contact me if you need anything."
Elizabeth nodded. She walked Timothy to the door. "Okay, drive safely."
Timothy walked out the door and looked back at Elizabeth, smiling gently.
Elizabeth lowered her head and said quietly, "Stay here tonight. Seraphina and I will go home the day after tomorrow."
An unexpected surprise.
Timothy bent down and suddenly picked her up.
He closed the door with his foot.
Elizabeth almost cried out, but fortunately she covered her mouth in time.
"Timothy! Are you asking for a beating?"
Timothy looked down, his thin lips curved in a smile. "Not asking for a beating, just excited."
Elizabeth rolled her eyes at him. Give him a little kindness and he starts pushing his luck.
"Let's take a shower together."
Elizabeth saw the bloodshot in his eyes and didn't argue with him further.
After all, taking a shower together wasn't something they hadn't done before.
He smiled gently.
Elizabeth's ears burned.
The bathroom door closed.
He put her down, and her feet touched the ground.
One hand clasped her waist, while the other hand slowly and methodically helped her unbutton her white shirt.
