Chapter 171 Hundred Days Banquet 3
Armando stared at Elizabeth's cold eyes, then stepped aside.
Elizabeth opened the restroom door.
She froze for a moment.
Outside stood Emma and several other women.
Their gazes fell on Elizabeth and Armando, full of meaning.
A man and woman going into the restroom together was bound to make people's imaginations run wild.
Elizabeth paused, then calmly walked past them, with Armando leaving shortly after.
"Emma, that man just now was Cecilia's grandson Armando, right? Who's that woman with him?"
Before Emma could respond, Juniper Collins said, "I know who she is. Just recently, I heard from Mindy - she's her brother's ex-wife."
Armando's ex-wife Elizabeth meeting up - nothing good to talk about there.
They instantly lost interest in gossiping further.
However, Juniper wasn't finished. She continued, "She's a mistress now."
Emma didn't want everyone to know about Elizabeth and Timothy's relationship, as it would embarrass her, so she spoke up to stop it. "Everyone, as a favor to me, please don't bring up this topic. Regardless, she's a guest of the Robinson family."
Juniper was Mira's cousin.
Juniper actually looked down a bit on Emma, who came from Silverlight City - just a scheming woman who married into the Robinson family by having a child.
Only her cousin Mira was foolish enough to buy Emma that jade necklace worth over a hundred million dollars.
Juniper had originally had her eye on that necklace.
However, Juniper's opinion of Emma rose a few notches after hearing her speak up for Elizabeth, the mistress.
Now that was class.
Maybe Emma didn't marry into the Robinson family by using a child after all - maybe they truly loved each other.
---
Elizabeth lifted her dress and walked back to Mabel's side.
Mabel fed Elizabeth a small piece of cake and rolled her eyes. "Look over there. What exactly is Mr. Robinson trying to do today?"
Elizabeth looked in the direction Mabel pointed and saw Jake holding Tommy in one arm and Jane in the other.
Elizabeth's eyes remained calm as she watched.
Today's show was going to be quite spectacular.
Elizabeth put on an appropriately shocked expression.
Acting - anyone could do that.
She blinked her reddened eyes sadly.
Jake turned and saw Elizabeth. He noticed her staring at him intently with a hurt expression.
Jake smiled at her gently. He handed Tommy and Jane to the nanny.
He walked toward Elizabeth.
Emma came out of the restroom, chatting and laughing with those girls as they entered the banquet hall.
Juniper saw fake Timothy approaching and teased with a laugh, "Emma, you went to the restroom once and your man couldn't wait to come get you."
Emma looked shy on the surface, but sneered inside. She saw Elizabeth - Jake was actually walking toward Elizabeth.
Emma stepped forward in her heels with an elegant stride, passing Elizabeth and blocking Jake's path toward her.
She smiled. "Mr. Robinson, are you looking for me? Is it time for the opening? Let's go."
As soon as she finished speaking, the host took the stage.
Jake's eyes looked toward Elizabeth, carrying a depth of meaning she couldn't quite understand.
---
On stage.
Jake held Tommy while Emma held Jane, with Manuel and Cecilia also standing on stage.
Under the lights, the family on stage gave off an illusion of happiness and harmony.
Standing below, Elizabeth squinted at the family on stage.
If she didn't know that the person standing on stage wasn't the real Timothy, her reaction right now would probably be genuine confusion and embarrassment.
Until now, Jake still hadn't produced the paternity test results to prove Tommy and Jane weren't his children.
What exactly was he trying to do?
Manuel spoke. "Thank you all for taking time out of your busy schedules to attend my grandchildren's hundred-day celebration."
His tone was unusually kind. "I'm announcing here that I will gift ten percent of the Robinson Group's shares to Tommy and Jane."
As soon as he finished speaking, the guests below showed surprised expressions.
Born into Robinson Group shares - Tommy and Jane were truly beloved.
They looked at the children's mother Emma with envy.
Emma looked at Manuel in surprise. She really hadn't known about the share gift.
Emma was extremely happy inside.
She looked down at the crowd and spotted Elizabeth standing among them.
Emma smiled calmly.
Elizabeth stood there motionless.
Inside, Elizabeth's mind was in turmoil.
Could Tommy and Jane really be Timothy's children?
Manuel had even given away shares.
Elizabeth unconsciously touched her belly, looking at Jake on stage wearing Timothy's handsome face.
Mabel grabbed Elizabeth's arm in disbelief, turning to look at her. "Elizabeth, are you okay?"
Elizabeth couldn't quite smile at this moment.
Ophelia appeared beside Elizabeth at some point. She lowered her voice and said with a smile, "Ms. Penrose, I warned you at the hospital that day. I hope you'll have some self-respect and not give birth to an illegitimate child to disgust everyone."
Elizabeth said hoarsely, "Thanks for the reminder. The child can take my last name when born."
Ophelia smiled dismissively. "You're so naive. Do you think the Robinson family will let you take the child away?"
Elizabeth listened calmly to Ophelia's mockery.
Elizabeth didn't want to keep standing below watching the family on stage. She made an excuse. "Mabel, I'm going to make a phone call."
Elizabeth just wanted to find a quiet place to sort through her thoughts.
The moment she turned around, Manuel announced on stage, "My son Timothy and the Sutter family's socialite Emma are a perfect match. I'm announcing here the happy news of their upcoming marriage..."
Jake stood on stage, his narrow eyes fixed on Elizabeth's lonely departing figure.
He felt a slight unease, though it was negligible.
---
Elizabeth didn't leave the banquet. She just planned to find a quiet place to figure out her next steps.
She just didn't expect to bump into someone when turning a corner.
"What's wrong with you? My dress is wet." Juniper was still holding a wine glass, the wine having spilled on herself.
Her pink dress, combining traditional and modern styles, was now ruined. She glared at Elizabeth, displeased. "How unlucky. Watch where you're going."
Elizabeth had instinctively protected the baby in her belly. She raised her eyebrows. "Ma'am, we were both at fault, right?"
"You woman, do you know how much this dress costs?" Juniper looked at Elizabeth with contempt. "You're a mistress - you couldn't pay for it even selling yourself for a lifetime."
Elizabeth was taken aback, then slowly smiled. "Do you know how much I'm worth? You couldn't pay for it even selling yourself for a lifetime."
Juniper almost laughed in anger. Where did Elizabeth get such nerve?
Elizabeth had been about to leave after talking back, but then heard talk of compensation.
Juniper sneered. "I wasn't going to bother with you, but since that's how it is, let's talk about compensation."
Just then, Juniper saw Albert and some others from their circle approaching. She called out, "Albert, your woman bumped into me."
Albert, suddenly called out, froze for a moment.
When he saw Elizabeth in front of Juniper, his eyes lit up as he walked over. "What happened?"
Juniper rolled her eyes at Albert. "Why did you bring this kind of low-class mistress to the Robinson family's hundred-day celebration? She bumped into me. Look, my dress is ruined. Shouldn't you pay for her?"
"She's your new one? Why'd you bring her? If your dad finds out, he'll beat you." Albert's good friend put his hand on Albert's shoulder, brazenly looking Elizabeth up and down.
Elizabeth's appearance was alluring, as was her figure.
Elizabeth looked seductive, yet her eyes were cold.
Elizabeth took a deep breath, very annoyed. "I have my own boyfriend. Please don't randomly label me as a mistress, okay?"
That damned woman Mindy!
Elizabeth looked coldly at Juniper. "You want compensation? Fine. See you in court. Whatever the judge awards, I'll pay."
Albert walked over to Elizabeth with a smile, apologizing to Juniper. "Sorry, my woman has quite a personality. I'll pay for the dress."
Albert thought he was playing the hero saving the beauty.
Juniper glanced at Elizabeth and sneered. "What kind of woman did you find? So shameless, talking about court and being ready anytime. Does she think I'm scared?"
"You people..." Elizabeth felt like laughing. She blinked, puzzled. "Are you all sick? And this gentleman, don't randomly claim girlfriends. You need to see a psychiatrist. I suspect you might have a mental illness."
Albert's face darkened at being called mentally ill. He reached out to grab Elizabeth's arm.
Elizabeth stepped back several paces, not expecting Albert to step on her dress.
Elizabeth's eyes widened instantly.
"Watch out!"
"Watch out!"
Two voices rang out simultaneously.
