Chapter 113 The Woman Abandoned by Nobles
[Sherry, that Elizabeth you asked about before is at the police station again. This time she's suspected of murdering a woman named Natalia]
When Sherry saw this message, she opened her red lips slightly in surprise and laughed so hard she was shaking.
Della suddenly heard Sherry's laughter and asked in confusion, "What are you laughing about all of a sudden?"
Sherry immediately stopped smiling. She wiped away the tears that had come from laughing with her fingertip, her expression cold. "I'm laughing because some people's lives are just worthless, that's all."
Her voice was very flat as she continued, "Della, don't you think people online love to read news about women abandoned by nobles?"
"I guess they do. I like reading that stuff."
Sherry nodded. "Let's give those media outlets some free news about a woman abandoned by nobility."
Della frowned. "Who?"
"Elizabeth."
"She has someone backing her. Why do you need to keep fighting with her? You're Mrs. Johnson now."
Della's advice was sincere. She really didn't understand why Sherry kept going after Elizabeth.
Sherry suppressed her anger. "You don't understand. I want Elizabeth to hate Armando forever. I want to make sure he can never have her."
What she, Sherry, couldn't have, no one else should have either.
"You really are..." Della didn't know what to say for a moment, but one thing was certain - there was a problem between Sherry and Armando.
Della had been working with Sherry for a long time. Breaking up wasn't an option now.
Della could only hope that whoever was backing Elizabeth wouldn't trace things back to them.
She asked helplessly, "So what do you want to do?"
Sherry's voice carried a smile. "Della, thank you. Don't worry, if we're careful, we won't be discovered."
"A woman abandoned by nobility taken in twice for suspected murder - what an attractive headline."
Just give the media some information, and they'd do the rest of the digging themselves.
Della reminded her, "Have you forgotten? Last time, that news about Elizabeth being played with by a perverted old man when she was young - it all got taken down later."
"I wonder if the media will dare to report on Elizabeth."
"Find some small media outlets. We won't name names."
Sherry pulled at the corner of her mouth. Online users loved playing detective - they'd figure it out themselves.
A car quickly pulled up to the police station.
The car stopped.
Timothy opened the car door, his deep gaze fixed on the police station entrance.
Elizabeth walked out of the police station and immediately saw Timothy standing by the car door.
He always seemed to be waiting for her up ahead.
Elizabeth rubbed her face, trying to make herself look better. She thanked the lawyer and quickly walked toward Timothy.
She stood in front of him, looking up. "Mr. Robinson, thank you."
Every day, she loved Timothy a little more.
Timothy placed his hand on Elizabeth's head, a smile at the corner of his mouth.
"Let's go eat first, then go home."
This time Elizabeth was arrested because Calista had hired a lawyer to file charges against Elizabeth.
Calista believed that Natalia was murdered through Elizabeth's scheming.
Calista didn't have enough evidence this time.
Elizabeth was just brought in for questioning. Once the lawyer arrived, she could be released.
But the suspicion against her hadn't been cleared.
She had to keep her mind sharp while giving her statement.
Now that she was in the car, Elizabeth lay on her side on Timothy's lap.
She reached out to hold Timothy's waist, nestling in to rest.
"Do you want to go see Calista?"
Timothy's fingers slipped into Elizabeth's hair, smoothing her strands.
After a moment of silence.
Elizabeth said in a muffled voice, "No, going would just mean listening to her yell at me. If I tell her I didn't murder Natalia, she probably won't believe me anyway."
There was another matter - about Elizabeth's background.
Calista definitely wouldn't tell the truth either.
"What do you want to eat?"
"Mexican food."
The answer came quickly.
Timothy looked down at Elizabeth nestled against his stomach, with a half-smile. "No, the doctor said you're taking medicine to regulate your body. You can't eat spicy food."
Elizabeth usually wanted it spicy - really spicy, not just a little.
Elizabeth pouted. Then why ask what she wanted to eat? "Then I'll have noodles, less spicy."
"Not spicy is fine."
Elizabeth fell silent.
It was just food, and Timothy had to control that too.
Timothy had Joe drive to the mall.
The mall had a food floor with affordable and delicious options.
Timothy knew Elizabeth liked eating these things.
The car drove into the parking garage.
The food floor was on the first basement level.
After Elizabeth finished a bowl of non-spicy noodles, Timothy took Elizabeth home.
Not to Carlton Hotel, not to Faith Residence community, but to their newly decorated home.
Elizabeth got out of the car and looked at the gate in front of her. Only then did she realize where Timothy meant by "home."
Last time they had made a list of furniture to buy, but they'd been too busy to go shopping.
She hadn't expected Timothy to secretly prepare this surprise for her.
Timothy held Elizabeth's hand as they walked in. "Everything's bought according to what you said, but there's one thing we haven't bought yet."
Elizabeth asked, "What haven't we bought?"
Timothy looked down at her seriously and said, "A crib for the future."
Elizabeth didn't say anything.
Elizabeth's face instantly turned red.
He wanted to have children with her.
#A Woman Abandoned by Nobility Suspected in Two Murder Cases#
This news exploded early in the morning.
Everyone was curious which woman abandoned by nobility was so vicious.
A commenter in the know wrote, [I know who it is, Elizabeth]
[So scary, no wonder she was abandoned]
[Elizabeth, I remember there was news about her last time. Wasn't she very firm in calling Armando trash?]
[It's her? I thought she was pretty cool back then]
Elizabeth being suspected in two murder cases made people think she was scary.
Her photos were somehow dug up and posted online.
Elizabeth got up early in the morning. Timothy was already out of bed, and she thought he'd gone to work.
When she walked out of the bedroom, she saw Timothy in a video conference meeting.
She typed a message on her phone to show him.
[I'm going to the nearby supermarket to buy some things, I'll be back soon]
She didn't tell Timothy she was buying a lot of things. She could carry them anyway.
Timothy saw she was full of energy and nodded.
The supermarket was very close to home.
But Elizabeth still chose to drive there.
Because today she planned to cook a whole table of dishes and invite Mabel and Yosef over for dinner, so she'd be buying quite a bit.
In the supermarket.
She was on the phone with Mabel and others while pushing a cart, occasionally stopping to pick out vegetables.
A child accidentally bumped into her shin.
Elizabeth had just hung up the phone and looked down at the child.
About five or six years old, just at that mischievous age. His mother came over, pulled the child, and apologized to Elizabeth.
"Miss, I'm sorry."
After the child's mother apologized and saw Elizabeth's face, her expression became a bit stiff. She smiled awkwardly, bent down to pick up the child, and quickly left.
As if Elizabeth were some kind of monster.
Elizabeth blinked. Was she really that scary?
Two girls nearby were whispering.
"Let's go, let's buy things somewhere else."
"I haven't bought this yet!"
"Buy other things first."
That girl pulled the other girl and hurried away.
Elizabeth didn't pay much attention to this situation. When she finished checking out and walked out of the supermarket carrying two bags of groceries.
She was met by reporters.
"Ms. Penrose, there's news online about a woman abandoned by nobility suspected in two murder cases. Is that you?"
The reporter was excited, as if about to dig up some explosive news.
Elizabeth looked confused. "What news? Sorry, please let me through."
Matthew, driving by, saw a familiar figure. "Elizabeth seems to be in trouble."
He stopped the car.
Emma, sitting in the passenger seat, was scrolling through her phone. She turned to look at Elizabeth surrounded by reporters.
She said worriedly, "I just saw the news. Elizabeth is suspected in two murder cases. The reporters surrounding her are probably about this."
Seeing that Elizabeth couldn't escape the reporters' harassment, Emma said, "Matthew, go help her."
Matthew unbuckled his seatbelt and opened the car door. He was about to get out when he suddenly stopped.
He closed the car door and looked at Emma's belly. "No, if I bring her to the car and she sees you're pregnant, what then?"
"But..." Before Emma could finish, Matthew interrupted.
"No buts. She's just surrounded by reporters. Reporters won't attack her. Let's just pretend we didn't see."
Matthew restarted the car and drove away.
Emma turned to look through the car window, her eyes very uneasy. "Matthew, isn't this not quite right?"
"It's fine. Right now, you're the most important. Mr. Robinson has already contacted me."
In Matthew's heart, Emma was naturally more important than the outsider Elizabeth.
Emma was immediately distracted. She touched her belly and asked in surprise, "What did Mr. Robinson say?"
