Chapter 101 Beaten up

Emily glared at him fiercely, "What right do you have to say you're Amelia's father? Have you ever taken care of her for a single day? Have you ever paid a cent in child support? Shameless!"

Amelia looked at the man named Eugene and suddenly felt a wave of nausea.

So he was the one who took all the money from the auction of Carl's paintings back then. Amelia couldn't understand how he dared to come back.

Her mood was surprisingly calm, not at all excited to see her father, but rather a mix of anger and heartache.

Seeing Amelia not speaking, Emily comforted her, "You don't have to pay attention to him. You are my daughter and he has nothing to do with it."

Eugene sneered, "Emily, remember to transfer the money to my account."

"No! I won't give it to you! Give up on that thought!" Emily interrupted him loudly.

Eugene raised his eyebrows and threatened with a clenched fist, "You dare not give it? Do you want to try my fist?"

Emily stepped forward, grabbed his arm, and pushed him out, "Get out! Get out of here!"

Eugene didn't get the money and refused to leave. They started to tussle, but Emily was no match for Eugene.

Seeing Emily being bullied, Amelia quickly rushed forward to protect her and Emory also came in to help subdue Eugene.

With a dull thud, Eugene punched Amelia in the nose.

A wave of soreness and pain washed over her and hot blood gushed from her nose. She clutched her nose in pain, her palm covered in bright red blood.

The door was pushed open.

Ryan strode in with long legs. As soon as he entered, he saw Amelia's nose covered in blood. His mind went blank.

His handsome face darkened and he asked sternly, "Who hit Amelia?"

Emily immediately pointed at Eugene, "It was this bastard who hit her!"

Ryan's gaze was as sharp as a blade, exuding a chilling aura, directly targeting Eugene.

Eugene, unable to hide from his gaze, was completely panicked!

He knew about Ryan but this was their first meeting.

Ryan's presence was too overwhelming, and in his fury, he was even more terrifying. Eugene's mind went blank, his legs went weak, and he instinctively wanted to run.

But as he passed by Ryan, he was grabbed by the arm and shoved against the wall.

With a thud, Eugene's back hit the hard wall, and he broke out in a cold sweat from the pain.

Ryan grabbed his collar and quickly swung his fist to hit Eugene's nose. Before Eugene could react, he was punched heavily in the eye,  which almost made him blind.

Eugene struggled to escape, but Ryan was half a head taller than him, and he couldn't move.

If this continued, he wouldn't get the money and might lose his life.

In desperation, Eugene shouted at Emily, "Emily, make him let me go! Or else I'll..."

Before he could finish, Ryan punched him in the mouth, dislocating his jaw.

Emily was holding a towel to help Amelia with her nosebleed. Shesaw Eugene beaten black and blue, his eyes swollen and his mouth askew.

She laughed gleefully, "Weren't you so capable? Didn't you threaten to try your fist? It turns out you're good for nothing but bullying women! Now that you've met my son-in-law, try the taste of being punched!"

Eugene, with his swollen eyes, looked helplessly at Amelia, who was sitting on the sofa with her head slightly raised, and pleaded humbly, "Amelia, listen to me, your mom she..."

Emily rushed over and slapped his swollen face with the bloody towel.

Emily shouted, "Shut your mouth! Say one more word, and I'll beat you to death!"

Eugene immediately shut his mouth in pain. Emily was angry that he had made Amelia's nose bleed and kept hitting his face with the towel.

Eugene struggled to fight back but was kicked to the ground by Ryan.

His body hit the hard floor, and Eugene couldn't open his eyes from the pain. His mouth was twitching.

Afraid to provoke Ryan, he turned his anger on Emily, "Emily, if you push me too far, I'll do anything!"

Emily hesitated for a moment, afraid that he might act out of desperation.

She turned to Ryan and said, "Maybe you should let him go, don't dirty your hands."

Ryan responded indifferently. As he looked at Amelia, seeing her red nose and blood-stained collar, he felt heartbroken.

He lifted his foot and kicked Eugene's leg and shouted, "Get out!"

Eugene, grimacing in pain, struggled to get up and limped out, holding onto the wall.

Ryan walked over to Amelia and said, "Let's go, I'll take you to the hospital."

Amelia shook her head, "The bleeding will stop soon, it should be fine."

Ryan lifted her chin to examine the injury and scolded, "With so much blood, you call it fine? Let's go to the hospital for an X-ray to see if the nasal bone is injured, so I can be at ease."

Emily agreed, "It's best to get it checked. If there's any lasting damage, Amelia's beautiful face could be ruined."

Unable to argue with them, Amelia agreed.

Ryan bent down to carry her, but Amelia felt awkward and gently pushed him away. She said, "I can walk by myself."

She stood up from the sofa, determined to walk on her own.

But Ryan scooped her up and carried her out the door.

Emily watched them leave, a satisfied smile on her lips then locked the door and followed them to the car.

In the car, Ryan asked Amelia, "Who was that man, and why did he hit you?"

Amelia smiled self-deprecatingly, "He's my dad."

"Your dad?" Ryan asked in surprise.

This was his first time seeing Eugene, and he didn't know he looked like that.

Amelia confirmed it quietly.

Ryan snorted coldly, "That kind of person doesn't deserve to be a father."

Sitting in the front seat, Emily said with disdain, "He's not Amelia's dad, he's just a bastard!"

Amelia asked curiously, "Mom, why did he ask you for a million dollars?"

Emily's eyes flickered, then she said, "He lost money in business, got into debt, and has nowhere else to turn."

Amelia pursed her lips, holding a tissue to her bleeding nose, and said nothing.

Emily suddenly remembered something and reminded, "Amelia, if he comes to you for money, don't give him any! That bastard never tells the truth, he just talks nonsense. Remember, don't believe anything he says, okay?"

Amelia had briefly seen Eugene when she was young, but he was much younger then, completely different from his current bloated appearance, so it was no wonder she didn't recognize him at first.

The most vivid memory she had of Eugene was that he took all the family's money and ran away.

Because she lived with Carl and Elara when she was young and didn't grow up with Emily, most of what she knew about Emily and Eugene was from neighbors who said they fought again.

Seeing Emily so angry, Amelia couldn't help but ask, "Mom, why did you divorce back then?"
