Chapter 120

"Why? Why the hell is this happening?"

Celeste screamed inside the car, her hands clenched so tightly that her nails dug into her flesh, drawing blood.

Dwayne looked at her with concern. "Celeste, you gotta calm down!"

"How can I calm down?" Celeste's face was pale. "I've busted my ass, and he doesn't even notice me!"

"But that Alexandra, she just stands there and has him wrapped around her finger. What am I? What am I to him?"

Celeste couldn't bear to look anymore and closed her eyes, tears streaming down her face.

Just then, some employees from the Windsor Group walked by the car, chatting.

"Did you hear? I heard Mr. Harris Johnson from the Johnson Group sent over some pastries! They're really expensive!"

"Mr. Harris Johnson from the Johnson Group? Really?"

"Of course! He sent a lot. I was lucky enough to get a piece, and it was amazing!"

"Was it for our Miss Alexandra Windsor?"

"Miss Alexandra Windsor? Remember to call her Miss Smith!"

"What's Miss Smith's connection to the Johnson Family? Why would Mr. Harris Johnson send pastries to Miss Smith?"

"I don't know! But you saw it too, right? That guy downstairs, isn't he Mr. Frederick Johnson?"

"Oh my God! What's going on here?"

"Miss Smith is really something. No wonder she can stir things up and set things right in our company!"

"Yeah, she's definitely not an ordinary person!"

Their conversation drifted into Celeste's ears, making her already desperate face even more shocked. "What?! Even Mr. Harris Johnson sent something?"

"What's going on? Why are Mr. Harris Johnson and Frederick so obsessed with her? Before she came back to the Windsor Family, they never treated me this well!"

Dwayne saw her reaction and gently tried to comfort her. "Celeste, don't worry!"

"Alexandra, you and I are sworn enemies!"

Celeste closed her eyes tightly, and the seeds of malice in her heart began to bloom.

"Celeste, listen to me. There's plenty of time. We don't need to rush."

Dwayne looked at Celeste seriously. "If you play your cards right, Mr. Frederick Johnson might fall for you! But first, we need to make sure Alexandra spends less time with him."

"Do you have any good ideas?" Celeste's eyes sharpened as she looked at Dwayne.

Dwayne lowered his voice. "I think..."

In the office.

Seeing Alexandra return with so many gift boxes, Gregory was a bit shocked. "Miss Smith, who sent these pastries?"

"The ones from earlier were just finished, and everyone praised them for being so delicious and expensive! They all wanted me to thank you on their behalf!"

Looking at the pile of gift boxes, Alexandra felt a headache coming on. "Why don't you distribute these to everyone as well?"

"Huh?" Gregory blinked, reading the text on the boxes. "The Adachi pastries, are you sure?"

"What's the matter?"

Alexandra didn't usually like pastries, so she wasn't familiar with The Adachi.

"Miss Smith, The Adachi pastries are the best in the world. There's nothing more expensive!"

Gregory's tone was exaggerated. "I heard that a single tart from The Adachi costs thousands of dollars! You have so many here. This must be worth hundreds of thousands!"

"That expensive?" Alexandra hadn't expected that. Why make pastries so costly?

"Yes! And I heard it's really hard to get an appointment with The Adachi. Many high-profile people like to make them themselves, guided by The Adachi's pastry chefs. A single class costs nearly a million dollars."

"I see that the pastries in your gift box aren't from The Adachi. They must have been made by the person who sent them to you."

Alexandra's eyes changed slightly. Not to mention the price, did Frederick make these himself?

"So that's how it is." Alexandra felt a warmth in her heart, a bit touched. She opened the gift box, revealing a variety of pastries that filled an entire table.

"This box must be from the person who sent them. The rest are The Adachi's bestsellers. Altogether, this must be worth hundreds of thousands!"

Gregory couldn't help but marvel. "Miss Smith, the person who sent these must be more than just a friend, right?"

"Not exactly just a friend." Alexandra couldn't quite define her relationship with Frederick. If they were just friends, it wouldn't be like this.

But.

"Miss Smith, the person who sent these really put a lot of thought into it. Aren't you going to try some?"

Gregory handed the box of Frederick's handmade pastries to Alexandra. "The ingredients used in The Adachi pastries are good for your health. You should try them. Otherwise, the person who sent them might be disappointed!"

Looking at the delicate pastries shaped like clouds, pure white and translucent, Alexandra was impressed. Even experienced bakers might not achieve such perfection.

This showed Frederick's dedication and The Adachi pastry chef's skill.

It was hard to imagine a tall man like Frederick making such dainty pastries.

Alexandra picked one up and took a bite.

It melted in her mouth, sweet but not cloying, truly delicious.

"The taste is really good. Besides this box, distribute the rest to everyone."

But even so, Alexandra couldn't eat that much.

Since it was Frederick's gesture, she decided to keep the box he made.

"Huh? Such expensive things, Miss Smith, are you sure you want to give them away?"

Gregory had explained the value, but Alexandra still wanted to share them.

"If they're really that valuable, keep some for yourself and give some to the department heads."

Seeing Gregory's shocked expression, Alexandra changed her mind.

But Gregory still found it unbelievable. "We can't accept such valuable gifts. Even if they're just pastries, their value is like a year's salary for us. We really can't accept them!"

"But if they stay here, I can't eat them all. They'll go bad and be wasted."

Alexandra sighed. "It's my decision. Why wouldn't you accept them?"
