The Alliance Forms
The Alliance Forms
Emma's POV
I made the decision in two seconds—we'd complete the triple mating bond and risk everything.
"Kai, Zara, now!" I shouted as the Seventh Seal cracked wider above us.
But before we could begin the ceremony, Alpha Damien tackled Kai to the ground.
"I won't let you risk shattering all the seals," Damien snarled. "If completing your bond might destroy reality, then you die before you can try."
Alpha Marcus grabbed Zara while Beta Carson moved toward me. The three traditional leaders had formed an instant alliance, unified by one goal: stop Emma's plan at any cost.
"You're insane!" I screamed at them. "The seal is already breaking!"
"Because of you!" Carson shot back. "Everything was fine until you started spreading your freedom nonsense. Now you want to gamble with everyone's lives?"
"We're already gambling with everyone's lives by doing nothing," Kai growled, throwing Damien off him.
But more traditional wolves joined the three Alphas. Dozens of them, forming a wall between me and my mates.
"You want to destroy Emma's sanctuary?" Aria asked with dangerous calm. "Fine. But first you'll have to destroy me—the original Moon Daughter who's been waiting ten thousand years for revenge against the Goddess."
She raised her hands, and wild power blazed around her. Unlike my healing energy, Aria's magic was pure chaos—reality-bending, law-breaking force that made even the traditional Alphas hesitate.
"Stand down," Alpha Marcus ordered his wolves. "We're not here to fight Moon Daughters. We're here to prevent a catastrophe."
"By causing a different catastrophe?" Maya challenged, stepping beside Aria. "You're so focused on stopping Emma that you're ignoring the seal breaking above us!"
"The seal breaks because Emma declared her Alliance," Damien countered. "Cancel the declaration, submit to the Moon Goddess, and the seal will stabilize. Simple solution."
"Simple surrender," Kai corrected bitterly.
Through the widening crack in the Seventh Seal, something emerged—a massive eye, unblinking and ancient, studying us all with cold intelligence.
"What is that?" Zara whispered in horror.
"The Reset," Elder Moira said grimly. "The force the Moon Goddess uses to erase failed creations and start over. If it fully emerges, every supernatural being will cease to exist. We'll all be unmade."
The eye focused on me specifically, as if recognizing the source of the disturbance.
"It's targeting Emma," Agent Miller observed, raising his weapon. "If we remove her from the equation—"
"You'll guarantee the Reset succeeds," Aria interrupted. "Emma's the only thing holding that seal partially closed right now. Her refusal to submit to the Goddess is like a wedge in the door. Remove her, and the door slams open."
"How is that possible?" Marcus demanded.
"Because the seal was designed to break when werewolves unified against divine authority," Aria explained. "But Emma's not unified—she's divided. Part Moon Daughter, part Shadow Princess, part human college student, part chosen pack leader. She's a walking contradiction that the seal can't process. That confusion is the only thing slowing the Reset."
"So we need to keep Emma confused and contradictory?" Zara asked.
"We need to make her more contradictory," Aria said with a wild grin. "Which is where the triple mating bond comes in. Add in two more souls, create even more complexity, overwhelm the seal's logic with impossible combinations."
"Or break all the seals simultaneously and free every imprisoned evil in existence," Damien said.
"Also a possibility," Aria agreed cheerfully. "But personally, I'd rather risk that than guarantee annihilation."
The traditional alliance wolves looked at each other, uncertainty creeping into their determination.
"Vote," one of Damien's own pack members said suddenly. "Moonbreak Pack operates by democracy, right? Let's use it. Everyone here—traditional and Free Alliance—vote on whether Emma should attempt the bond."
"This isn't a democracy," Damien snapped. "I'm Alpha—"
"And I'm choosing to follow Moonbreak's principles instead of yours," the wolf interrupted. "Anyone else?"
Hands went up throughout the traditional packs. Not all of them, but enough to matter.
Damien's face turned red with rage and humiliation. "You're all traitors. When this is over, I'll remember every wolf who defied me."
"If there is an 'after this,'" Marcus said quietly, staring at the eye emerging from the seal. "I vote we let Emma try the bond. Not because I trust her, but because I don't see any better options."
"I vote no," Carson said. "The risk is too great."
"I vote yes," Kira announced. "The certainty of annihilation beats the possibility of catastrophe."
More voices called out votes. The count was close—nearly even between yes and no.
"Maya doesn't get a vote," Damien protested when she raised her hand. "She's a child."
"She's the one who saw the truth about the timeline," Kai said firmly. "Her prophetic visions saved us from wasting time. She votes."
"I vote yes," Maya said clearly. "Because I trust my Mama to do the right thing, even when the right thing is terrifying."
Her faith in me was both heartwarming and heartbreaking.
The final count: fifty-one percent in favor of the bond attempt.
"Democracy has spoken," Aria said with satisfaction.
"Barely," Damien muttered. "But I'll respect the vote—this time. Emma, if your bond breaks all the seals, I'll spend my last moments knowing I was right to oppose you."
"Fair enough," I said.
Kai and Zara moved to my sides, taking my hands. The incomplete mate bond between us pulsed with anticipation.
"Ready?" Kai asked softly.
"No," I admitted. "But let's do it anyway."
We began the ceremony—words in an ancient language that Elder Moira whispered to us. Power built between the three of us, growing stronger with each phrase.
The Seventh Seal's crack widened in response, the Reset's eye focusing more intensely.
"It's reacting," Moira warned. "The bond is either helping or making everything worse. We won't know which until it's complete."
I felt Kai's Ancient Alpha bloodline merging with my Moon Daughter power merging with Zara's fierce warrior spirit. Three souls becoming one while remaining three. Unity and individuality existing simultaneously.
The Reset's eye couldn't comprehend it.
The Seventh Seal stopped cracking.
For one perfect moment, I thought we'd won.
Then the other six seals shattered at once.
From each broken seal, a different nightmare emerged: the First Seal released shadow armies. The Second released void corruption. The Third released ancient werewolf evils that predated the Moon Goddess. The Fourth released human weapons from forgotten wars. The Fifth released corrupted Moon Daughters from failed timelines. The Sixth released—
"Derek," I whispered in horror.
But not just Derek. The Shadow King himself, fully manifested, wearing Derek's face but radiating power that dwarfed anything we'd encountered before.
"Thank you, Emma," the Shadow King said with Derek's voice. "Your triple bond didn't overwhelm the Seventh Seal—it destroyed the other six. You've just freed me from my prison and armed me with six apocalypses worth of weapons."
Behind him, armies of nightmares poured through the broken seals.
"This is your fault," Alpha Damien said to me, his voice cold with accusation.
And he wasn't wrong.
I'd just ended the world.
