CHAPTER 18
CHAPTER 18
Alright my dearest, I will now leave you to rest and equally have a sound sleep. I too would be going to bed right away because I feel very much relived that you're safe. Good night my sweet heart, have a nice night sleep." Victoria said happily and very much relived because she had to battle with tension all through the day that Jenn was trapped deep inside the woods.
I just looked around, without saying a word.
"Good night and have a great night's rest too." Jenn wished her a great night ahead as she hung up the call immediately. Jenn had just finished taking her bath when she called Victoria so she had to apply and massage her self with her body cream and pain reliefs after the call. She was really stressed and she craved a very good night rest filled with a whole lotta bliss.
Kevin had continued his journey as the car kept moving miraculously without stopping or breaking down. Kevin had covered almost half the journey when the car broke down in a remote village. He was very happy that at least he was in the midst of people and it was very obvious that he was definitely going to continue his journey the next day.
At this point, I was just so busy and scared at the same time. I really needed to be cautious with whatever that I was doing at the moment.
Kevin successfully parked the car well and slept inside it. He was happy that he didn't remain in the other countryside where Jenn had left him stranded. It was at this moment that it dawned on him that he had been played.
"Thank God I'm here, I feel the presence of human beings and I am more at peace than that other place, I will definitely spend my night here then continue the journey tomorrow." Kevin soliloquized aloud.
That night was so long and comfortable for Jenn as she over slept as a result of excessive stress. Kevin had woken up immediately it was morning and he identified himself with locals who helped carry him to the urban city where he lived on a commercial bus because it was hard to get diesel at the rural areas of the community.
As he journeyed on his way back home, he thought about how he nearly lost his life out of his own careless assumptions and insecurities. He knew that he really had to come up with a fast solution. He had agreed with the locals that he would come back in an official way to carry his car and equally thank them properly for their great show of kindness and love to him and how grateful he was. Kevin finally arrived at the main City of New York and he breathed an air of relief and happiness that he was back home. It was no longer a hard deal for him to find his easy back home.
Jenn was a bit worried that Kevin hadn't come back, she was scared about his life because she felt she was the cause of everything by even embarking on that journey and letting Kevin pursue her in his car. She was still deep in thought when she heard a car sound inside the compound and when she peeped, she saw it Kevin and she heaved a sigh of relief immediately.
"Oh My God, I almost lost my life over an unnecessary issue. So, you left me there Jenn with the thought that I was going to die because you felt death is the best punishment you could give me." Kevin shouted out at the hearing of Jenn who simply ignored him and continued seeing the movie she was watching in the other room. Kevin walked in there and tried to distract her attention.
"Jenn, what was that silly attitude you put up, jeopardizing my life too." Kevin asked Jenn who looked up to him and replied.
"Kevin, what was that silly attitude you put up, trying to trail and track me to only God knows where. You're very lucky that I decided to let you come out from that vicinity alive, the next time you try to play that silly game again, you would tell the story of how it happened at the grave." Jenn issued the warning to Kevin sternly.
"You're threatening me again Jenn and I think I've had enough of you because I barely understand you and also what you're up to, I wouldn't let you have your way ever again because I don't trust you. If you could leave me all there to die, then you're capable of any thing possible." Kevin said staring at Jenn because he needed at least a word from her to explain her actions.
"Thank God you know now," Jenn replied rather very nonchalant about his feelings.
"So, that is all you have to say right, no issues, I understand better that you don't love me at all," Kevin said to Jenn who only sighed at him without saying a single word.
"I know that Victoria has the plans of wasting Kevin and maybe carrying it out in such a way that the evidences would make me seem like the culprit well, I'm not going to let that happen or come to pass, it's time to build my game plans because I've been too calm for a really long while." Victoria thought aloud to herself.
Victoria had finalized her plans to assassinate Kevin. She wanted to play a clean game that wouldn't implicate her in any way.
"I hope your boys understand this task very well and I actually came to you because you've always carried out the tasks I've ever given to you excellently and very neatly. This time around, I need a better job because I want this person I'm about to give you details about him to go down." Jenn said with a wild smile.
