ALTHEA

I was sitting in the history class when the principal walked in with Mrs Spencer. The look on her face told me everything I needed to know. I was called out of the class without giving any possible reason at first. But the humiliation was set exactly how Mrs Spencer wanted it. “Why am I being called out in the middle of the lecture? I deserve to know the reason.” I asked calmly. I didn't want trouble but I surely deserved to know what was going on.

None of them opened their mouths. Walking past my dorm, I watched my things lying out of my room and some guards were going through my stuff. “Why is my dorm being inspected? What is going on?” I was now yelling at them for being secretive while constantly violating my rights of privacy that were written in their forms that I signed along with Alpha Collin.

Still, they refused to utter a single word so I stopped in the middle. “I will not take another step until I know what is going on here.” I growled at them angrily, stubborn because I didn't deserve the kind of humiliation they made me go through.

“Luna Althea, I request you to please walk with us quietly and I will explain everything to you once we are in my office. Please, do not make a scene here. It will only make things worse for you.” He might have used the word please twice in all the sentences he threw at me but surely, It didn't make the matter easier for me to understand.

“I said, I will not move until you tell me what is going on.” I growled at them again. Suddenly, someone grabbed me from behind, then another. There were two guards from the royal academy, and I was dragged to the principal's office.

I fought all the way to the principal's office. As soon as we stepped inside, I was pushed down on my knees and they held my arms apart, as if I could somehow harm them in any way.

“Elizabeth Carter's diamond ring is missing. And she says she has seen you staring at it.” It was Mrs Spencer who spoke up. The principal wouldn't even look at me.

“And you started rummaging through my stuff and brought me here like a criminal because someone said I looked at her hand funny? Without even asking me? Have you gone crazy or have you forgotten who I really am?” Surely, my voice raised at the man who made too many hollow promises to Alpha Collin the day I was being admitted to the academy.

They forced my head down, I even felt a bone cracking when they did so. “It's the matter of stealing. And we take these matters very seriously. You are the only one who comes from a criminal background.” Mrs Spencer was the one who spoke again but I was not talking to that bitch.

“Bitch, I am not talking to you. I am talking to the principal. Call Alpha Collin. I don't want to talk to anyone of you fuckers.” I growled at them. Although, I wanted to take care of the matters on my own
But it started to feel like the politics was just out of my hands.

I could swear that I felt panic rising within the four walls where I was being held without any proof. Mrs Spencer was quick. She crotched down in front of me and held my jaw with one hand, digging her nails into my cheeks deliberately. “There will only be the royal guards coming here to arrest you for theft. Your Alpha can't save you anymore.” She growled at me.

I spat on her face because I knew exactly what she was doing. To get me out of the academy, she was willing to play dirty games. “Get her on her feet and strip her. We will find that diamond ring by all means.” Mrs Spencer added and my soul left my body for a second.

I was fighting the guards with all my might so I wouldn't be more humiliated than I already was. When I didn't cooperate, they decided they would tear my clothes off of my body. Within my heart, I prayed for the moon goddess to help me in any way possible. That day, she heard me without any delay.

Before the guards could tear my clothes, someone broke that heavy wooden door into shreds. My heart was pounding in my chest and I looked at the glowing red orbs and that familiar angry growl that used to terrorize me to my core, suddenly gave me my strength back.

With that ounce of energy I had left in my body, I ran toward the door and stumbled in the arms of my mate who was there. “What the fuck did you do to my mate?” I could feel his beast surfacing. But I refused to let him go. The way I was shaking, he turned his attention toward me.

“Watch them. I don't want any of them to escape. Contact the Alpha king. I will not let this slide.” I could hear him loud and clear but I just wanted to leave that place. His beta nodded his head and his soldiers were already in their places.

Alpha Collin gently picked me up in his arms. He cradled me against his chest and walked towards the benches in the hind garden of the dorm building where we had eaten together the other night.

He sat down on one of the benches but I was still on his lap. He didn't put me down and I was not ready to climb off of his lap either. I just wanted to hide in his arms. Maybe it was the comfort of the mate bond or something else. But at that moment, and after a very very long time, I had found comfort in a place, in this whole wide world.

Unlike Alexander, he didn't try to tell me to tough up and stop crying. Instead, he had one of his arms wrapped around me tightly and with the other one, he was stroking my hair gently. “It's okay. You can cry if you want. You are safe. I am here with you, my Luna.” Those words weren't just gentle, they held meaning.

I found my arms wrapping around his neck. I held him as tightly as I could. As if letting go would hurt me in some way.
