ALTHEA

I couldn't help myself but stare at him. He had said something I was not expecting from him. I had never really told him much about it. Why I left. Why I never wanted to go back. Why I hated that place. But then again, he was alpha Collin. He was very well known for his sources and resources.

“Isn't that right?” He asked me again and I turned my gaze away. He was right. I left because I couldn't bear the betrayal. I had gotten accustomed to the humiliation and unfairness in that pack. But I never wanted my mate to do the worst of all.

I finished my food and was ready to go back when he grabbed my hand. “You don't need to worry about anything. Even if you have trouble here, you will tell me. Just focus on your training. I will visit you every now and then.” He whispered softly, pushing a strand of my hair behind my ear.

Goosebumps rose all over my skin. It wasn't out of fear. He helped me up and I went back to my room. I didn't open my books anymore. I just laid down on my bed and closed my eyes. It was a promise he made at the very end. That he would come again. And holding onto that promise, I just let myself find the peace within me.

I got up a little late the next morning. Since I had no time to run, I just went straight to the bathroom for a quick shower. I was standing in front of the mirror, looking at Alpha Collin's mark on my neck. It was right where Alex had marked me. Alpha Collin used dark magic to make that mark vanish completely. And it did.

I got out, changed and I went to have breakfast. I preferred sitting with Yilena. While Callista was always with the mean girls again. She was trying to fit in. I paid no attention because I no longer wanted to have any kind of connections with her.

The classes were to start. So we finished up quickly and went out. “I don't understand why Mrs Spencer is constantly doing you bad. Like, she put you with Callista on purpose. Don't you think so?” Yilena asked as we were walking toward our first class.

“She is trying everything she could to make it into a mess. She wants me out of this academy. And constantly trying to get on my nerves.” I growled in anger. Of course it was bothering me. But I was trying to keep my head down. I didn't want trouble.

“You know, you can tell your alpha. I have heard that Mrs Spencer never met him. That's the only reason she has the tongue that's constantly throwing shit at you.” Yilena suggested and I signed.

“I want to solve my own problems, instead of asking him to do it for me. I know what he's capable of.” I replied to her calmly. We quietly made our way to the classroom and I was glad that she dropped the topic for the time being.
