Chapter 29
Chapter 29
To say that Dylan was feeling vulnerable would be an understatement. He had been in pain for the past two days. He knew that he would leave Vivienne in the end. He knew that and yet, he still could not come to terms with it. He had used the time Marianne had given him to try and accept the fact that he was leaving Vivienne for good. The internet in all its glossary was what he used to try and persuade himself against giving up and staying with her.
All the comments of people calling her a horrible person, and telling Dylan that he is foolish for staying with her and that she is just destroying his happiness, was what he relied on. Even though he knew all of this already.
In the time he took, he was sure that Vivienne was looking for him, but he had requested that he stay in a little room which the staff used to rest. He knew that if Vivienne had found him then he may be swayed or may react in a way that was not very nice. He was furious but he was also hurt and wanted to be with Vivienne so badly. He had so much hope for her and wanted to believe that she was behaving better for him and not herself. But every time he had those thoughts, he would be reminded of what he heard that started everything.
Did she talk to them about her plan or did they assume it because when it came to Vivienne, it would have been obvious as to what she was doing?
He looked for Marianne when he felt like he was ready to tell her. The hotel was carrying on as if his wedding was not the reason why people were there. But he knew that most of the people there did not care about the wedding or him and Vivienne. They came for the drama and that's what they got.
Without being seen he had made it into her office and prayed that no one other than her would come in. Vivienne was probably too heartbroken to be receiving therapy from Marianne and she would be trying to distract herself from her problems by probably partying it up and going everywhere she wanted to go with him.
But then something moved inside of him when he saw Marianne. She had entered the room, they talked, and then he kissed her. He was not sure how everything came together, as he probably was still not in his right mind, but he finally realized what he had done post kiss and slap.
"What the hell was that?!" Marianne demanded, moving away from him.
Dylan was still shocked at his actions and struggled to find his words. "I- I was not- wait- that's not what I meant."
"You! I get that you are vulnerable and upset right now. But that was just too much..." Marianne trembled with anger as she wiped at her lips.
"Ms. Blake..."
"I'm done." she glared at him. "You're on your own for this one. Have fun talking to Vivienne."
Before he could say anything, Marianne was already gone. And now he had another problem to deal with. Dylan was not in his right mind and sought some sort of comfort. So he kissed Marianne. He was not thinking about how it would make her feel or what would happen after. But now that he did not have Vivienne, he didn't have anyone and wanted some sort of comfort, affection, in any place that he could get it. But he slipped up and caused Marianne harm because of it.
He slumped down on the couch and ran his hands over his face. "I really suck."
He needed to apologize to Marianne and then also he needed to talk to Vivienne. He wanted to deal with Marianne first but he was sure that she needed time to calm down. Dylan was sure he would be able to find Vivienne easily if he looked but he just was not mentally ready for that. What would follow would be a breakdown, tears, screaming, and begging. He simply wanted to tell her that he was willing to stay with her, but how could he, when she caused him so much pain.
Dylan rubbed his own lips when thinking back to kissing Marianne. He wanted so badly to take it back, to stop himself from thinking that she would be able to comfort him. She was probably the least willing person out of everyone that was in the hotel. Vivienne had disrespected her in the past, but now he had done it, crossed the line far farther than she had done. Marianne had done nothing but respect and try to help them, and in return, they gave her stress and made her life much harder than it needed to be. Dylan was so embarrassed by his actions that he was unable to move or do anything about them for the next ten minutes. He felt like if he saw Marianne then he would not be able to face anyone ever again. Even though what he did was not technically cheating, he still kissed someone he was not supposed to.
"And if Vivienne found out..."
If Vivienne found out then Marianne would most likely get seriously injured or even die. Vivienne would go beyond crazy and make Marianne suffer for her mistakes, she would say that she seduced Dylan and caught him in a position when he was vulnerable and so took advantage of him. But it's not like Vivienne would not get mad at him as well. It's just that Marianne would feel most of it. But then again, Vivienne really had no right to feel upset since it was obvious that he was going to call everything off. And even if she did find out, then it would be after he told Vivienne about his decision.
"But would that really stop Vivienne? Whether or not I tell her, it will still be a bloodbath."
