Chapter 60

Warning: strong language, death

Tagronoth and the twins could not figure out where it all went wrong. For weeks they watched as Emily made the perfectly working hidden portal array, making sure that Tiffany was the perfect decoy and that Raumel took the fall for when the spell wore off.

They had managed to put both sets of arrays in place, the first pain that led to the dungeon in the palace and the second set that led to a separate safe house. They had also managed to succeed in getting Sal and Manny’s momma Lamia out of the dungeon while they took her to their chosen separate safe house. They were even able to successfully put Tiffany in her place. All that was left was to put Raumel in the cell with Tiffany and then everything would be over.

Tagronoth had gone with the twins and their momma. He would stay there and make sure she had everything she needed and to be a bodyguard, and explain to her what was going on until everyone reconvened after the mission was finished.

The twins had laid her down on a bed, said they would be back shortly and immediately left. Tagronoth was expecting everyone to be there in approximately 10 to 15 minutes. That gave them enough time to destroy the array, and grab some supplies if they needed it.

What he was not expecting was the sound of banging and the twins screaming less than 30 seconds after they reentered the portal.

He knew his orders were to stay and take care of their momma, and he would probably get in trouble later with the twins for not following orders. But their safety was his priority, and they had spelled every inch of this house several times over. He knew that their momma would be safe, not even a god could break the spells that Emily had placed. So Tagronoth ran through the portal, disobeying his orders to stay.

What he found was both heart wrenching and blood boiling.

The twins were on their knees banging on an invisible wall where the portal currently was for some reason not letting them through. Tagronoth rushed forward to help them but stopped in his tracks at what he saw on the other side.

Saggun and Emily standing there facing them, covered in blood as Saggun was slowly pulling a dagger out of her chest. Raina standing behind him with a smirk on her face as she watched them.

He figured out that during the short time they were at the safe house, Saggun or Raina had managed to alter the array, barring entry.

They all wondered when Saggun had planned on betraying them or if he planned on betraying them from the beginning.

“Welcome back, Vhan.” Miniatalpia said, “This place has not been the same without you.”

He put his arm over his face, shielding his eyes from the light.

“Miniatalpia, since when do you do the welcome party?” Vhan asked, his voice hoarse from years of disuse.

“I don’t, you are the exception.”

“Why?” He sat up and drank the water that was on the bedside table.

“Well, nobody else knows that you were going to awaken today except me, and I did not tell anybody beforehand so they could be prepared for it.”

“Again, why?”

“Why do you keep doing things without thinking them through or speaking to your soulmates?. ”

“I did talk to my soulmate. We planned it together.”

“You spoke to Saggun, not the other. They currently think that he murdered you in cold blood.”

“Technically he did kill me.”

“I should smack you, I sent you a warning in the dream for a reason, not for you to use it as an opportunity to fake your murder.”

“I needed my heavenly body back, and this was the opportunity I needed to get it. I knew the twins would not let me die anytime soon. Saggun understood what I needed and he knew the promise I made not to kill myself. So he did it for me.”

“You are still an idiot.” She paused, “But I know what you are planning, and I am here to support you.”

“Why would you support me with this?”

“Because soulmates should not be separated, and if you want to be with them, then you cannot stay here.”

“Thanks, now can you help me to the gates?.” He asked, “I need to get back before Tagronoth and the twins decide to murder Saggun.

They exited through the back using the path behind his house that bypassed the main walkways in order to avoid being seen. Hopefully nobody would notice his body missing until it was too late.

“Well, I guess this goodbye for now.” Miniatalpia said. “Just know when the time comes, I want your support in return.”

“Whatever you want, Miniatalpia.” Vhan said as ran and jumped through the gates and fell.

They saw a blinding light though the windows before they heard the sound of a crash before the house started to shake the moment, whatever it was made impact in their backyard.

“What the hell was that?” Tagronoth asked, as they all ran outside.

There in the middle of a crater stood the most beautiful being they had ever seen. The twins felt the connection between them as soon as they made eye contact. They knew that this being was once the one called Emily.

Tagronoth, Sal and Manny were so entranced they did not see as Vahn snapped his fingers, summoning Saggun to his side.

“Holy hell, I thought you were ethereal as a god, but I think I like this form even better.” Saggun could not help but compare Vahn’s new fallen body to the heavenly body from his memory.

His snow white hair and wings were now raven black. His green eyes were a beautiful silver that could make even the moon jealous of its shine. Where Emily had an average build and height, Vahn now stood 8 inches taller.

“I think we broke them.” Saggun said, pointing at their soulmates.

Vahn smirked as he walked up to Sal and Manny’s merged body and kissed him and Saggun did the same to Tagronoth.

The moment Tagronoth was snapped out of his trance, his fist made contact with Saggun’s mouth.

“Ow,” He said touching his lips, “I deserved that.”

“How long? Were you planning on betraying us, betraying me, from the beginning?”

“I never pla…” He was cut off when he was punched once again.

“Hey, hey, hey, it is my fault. He never betrayed you.” Vahn said. “I made him do it.”

“Who the hell are you?”

“You don't recognize me?” He asked. “After all the times we have fucked, was I just another notch in your belt? I am wounded.” He covered his face and pretended to cry.

“Such a drama queen.” Sal and Manny stated. “This prima donna is Emily.”
