Epilogue

POV Tatyana

Seven years later

The years passed, and our family grew even stronger. Samuel found his balance point and becomes more powerful every day. In the Mafia, he is harsh and ruthless, but with his family, he is kind and tolerant. Honestly, I never imagined seeing him changing diapers, offering bottles, or even putting babies to sleep. Our children grew up under supervision, receiving affection and lessons in leadership, but without losing the moments of being children and holding onto their innocence.

Yesterday, they turned seven. We spent the afternoon in a park that was entirely reserved for them—after all, enemies never sleep. Today, however, is the day my babies begin their training. The years have been generous; we remain young, in love, and as intense as we were on the day we first met. I approach the large glass windows of the Colt mansion and see Magno running through the garden, playing with Alek and Sarah.

"Come on, run!" Magno calls to his siblings as they race.

"Stop being annoying, Magno!" Alek complains.

"I'm the oldest!" Magno retorts, adopting the same stern expression as his father—a spitting image of the arrogant man.

"Two minutes older!" Sarah reminds him.

Samuel calls them, and they quickly return to the house. I follow them as they pass through the main hall, placing my hand gently on the staircase railing. It’s time for Samuel to teach them and mold them into future leaders. After all, while Magno will take over, our other children will also play their roles in all of this.

"Alright, Magno, you’re seven now. It’s time to begin your training. Your siblings will be trained equally, and together you’ll learn to respect one another. When the time comes, you will take my place."

"I will be the next leader of the Bratva Drakon! I promise to be the best, Dad!"

"That’s right," Samuel says with pride, smiling at my dark angel.

From a distance, I watch. Samuel promised me a different, fair, and effective training. He said he would never repeat the cruelties Pavel inflicted on him. My Russian mafioso walks toward his office while the children wait intently for his return. Minutes later, Samuel returns with a kitten in his hands.

"What’s that?" Sarah exclaims, surprised at the furry animal. The kitten has yellow eyes, black fur, and a golden collar around its neck.

"This is Tina," Samuel announces. "You will love her and take care of her until she dies naturally. You will protect her and ensure no other animal harms her. Brotherhood is a family, and we protect each other and follow the chosen leader. What are the primary laws of the code?"

"Loyalty!" Magno shouts fiercely.

"Respect your leader!" Alek declares.

"Protect," Sarah responds sweetly.

"Exactly. Next week, we’ll start learning how to shoot."

Magno hugs Tina, and they all start playing with the kitten.

"What do you intend with this training?" I ask curiously.

"We all have light and darkness in our hearts. Unlike Pavel, who left me in darkness, I want to teach them how to control both sides," Samuel says, wrapping his arms around my waist affectionately. "Tatyana, you are my light, and you will be theirs too! I love you. You saved me, gave me a new life, a new purpose..."

"I love you too, Samuel Colt. Saving you was my greatest happiness!" I confess, wrapping my arms around his neck.

"Now I am a Colt, and do you know how we identify a Colt?"

"How, my storm?"

"They are arrogant, exude supremacy, authority, and dominance," Samuel says, pulling me into his arms and kissing me with devotion.

"You are mine, Tatyana, my dark storm!"

Samuel Colt, a tall, imposing, striking, seductive man completely bound to darkness. How could I, a waitress whose father was a gambling addict indebted to the Mafia, be capable of saving a lonely soul, broken and consumed by the deep abyss?

Our feelings were like a thread forming and breaking. How could something broken be fixed? It couldn’t! Samuel Colt, the lost dark angel, died, and with him perished all his fears and the relentless pain that inhabited his heart. He was conquered by love, by my depths. I held his hand firmly, and together we found suffering, but also intensity and power. Today, I know we needed that insane desire. I painfully discovered that love truly hurts, but it also rebuilds and evolves. It spreads like cancer, devouring every cell and aspect of your life.

The flame of love consumed us and transformed us into two beings capable of surviving any destruction. It’s impossible to destroy something invisible. Love is like that—intense, inextinguishable when felt genuinely. Only love can build bridges, dive so deep, and penetrate the abyss. Yet, it manages to be incredibly indestructible.

"Samuel Colt, the day I met you was my downfall, but still, it was your rebirth and redemption. The Russian Mafioso became my fascination, my memory, and forever my light and darkness."

The end! The second volume will tell the story of another couple. 💖
