Chapter 326 He Understands Women Too Well

Frederick fell silent for a moment, then said, "There are many things I can't predict. I can only do my best to take care of her within my abilities. But you can't ask me to give up everything just to live for her."

"Call me selfish if you want, but you're my wife, you're my closest person. I believe if her brother were alive, he wouldn't ask me to sacrifice you for her either."

His words were so sincere and reasonable that the knot in Xandra's heart gradually loosened.

She smiled and poked his firm chest, "How are you so good with words?"

Seeing her smile, Frederick's anxious heart finally relaxed.

He held her hand and kissed it, "So, does it make you feel better?"

"Yes, much better."

"Then can you give your husband a reward?"

Xandra looked up, met the man's smiling eyes, and rolled her eyes dramatically.

Thinking of something, she said, "Oh right, I noticed something."

"What?"

"Donald likes Anya."

Frederick raised an eyebrow slightly, "Really?"

"Yeah, I just encouraged him to go after Anya. You won't blame me for meddling, will you?" Xandra asked.

Frederick said, "Why would I? Donald is a good man, capable and responsible. If they could really get together, I should thank you on Anya's behalf."

Xandra pouted, "Anya is too scheming. If she wasn't your comrade's sister, I'd say she doesn't deserve Donald at all."

She had her own reasons for encouraging Donald to pursue Anya.

She just hoped to get rid of one admirer.

Actually, deep down, she felt Donald was getting the short end of the stick.

"At least Anya is quite capable at work," Frederick said, defending Anya.

Xandra said, "True. If she were just some naive girl, she wouldn't be your capable assistant. I just hope she won't go crazy for love and take the wrong path."

Frederick smiled, "It won't come to that."

Xandra could tell that although Frederick knew Anya had feelings for him, he still thought she was basically a good person.

She said, "Honey, you really don't understand her. Do you know what I saw at her place?"

"What?"

"Remember that apology necklace you gave me?"

Xandra said, "Anya actually bought the exact same necklace. But when you asked her about it, she played tricks and switched it with a similar one, making it look like I was being unreasonable."

Hearing this, Frederick frowned slightly, "You're sure you didn't see it wrong?"

Xandra said, "Have you forgotten what I do for a living? I might get other things wrong, but I would never mistake jewelry!"

Frederick pressed his lips together, his mind racing.

All these years, he had focused all his energy on work and treated Anya like a sister.

And Anya had never revealed her feelings to him.

So he really hadn't thought in that direction.

He didn't expect Anya's thoughts to run so deep.

"Alright, I'll handle this. Anyway, my body and heart are all yours, okay?"

Frederick coaxed her, lifting her chin to kiss her.

Xandra tried to dodge, but he held her waist firmly and kissed her without giving her a choice.

His kiss was passionate yet gentle, intoxicating.

Xandra was kissed until she felt dizzy, her body soft and weak.

Frederick held her as they fell onto the sofa, his long fingers nimbly exploring under her clothes...

Just then, they heard the door opening.

Rachel was back!

Seeing the two kissing passionately on the sofa, her greeting turned into a light cough.

"Xandy, Ray hasn't fully recovered yet, you two should take it easy. I'm going upstairs, you two carry on."

Xandra was mortified and wanted to find a hole to crawl into.

Facing the completely calm man, she bit down on his shoulder.

Frederick chuckled, "I was wrong, baby. Bite all you want, I won't bite back."

"You want to bite back?"

Xandra let go and glared at him angrily.

Frederick laughed softly and kissed her lips.

"I wouldn't dare bite, only kiss."

"Get lost!"

Xandra pushed him away and went upstairs in a huff.

"Honey, won't you help me up?"

His answer was a glare over her shoulder.

Frederick chuckled and got up to straighten his clothes.

Thinking of Anya, his smile faded slightly.

His wife wanted to play Cupid—shouldn't he help out?

The next afternoon, when Donald came to report on work, Frederick signed documents while asking casually.

"Did you spend the night at Anya's place last night?"

Spend the night?

Those words sounded a bit suggestive.

Frederick looked up and saw the embarrassment in Donald's eyes, then said, "I mean, did you take care of her all night at Anya's place last night?"

"Yes."

"Is she okay?"

Donald thought about how Anya had pushed him onto the bed when she was drunk last night, and his face flushed.

"She's—she's fine."

Frederick looked at him, "Donald, you're not getting any younger. Maybe you shouldn't just focus on your career anymore. My wife told me you like Anya?"

Donald hung his head, looking uncomfortable.

Frederick said, "How about this — starting today, I'm promoting you to General Manager, in charge of the entire Valcouraine market business. At the same time, I'll have Anya return to work as your deputy. How does that sound?"

Hearing this, Donald looked up sharply, "Mr. Flores, you want Anya to be my deputy? But she's more capable than me!"

Frederick said, "Donald, you're a man. You should understand one fact: most women are attracted to strength. If you want Anya to fall in love with you, you should be fearless, not sell yourself short, and make yourself stronger."

His face was stern, radiating the powerful presence of a leader.

Donald stared at him, feeling a surge of emotion.

Frederick continued, "Donald, I've seen your abilities. If you were incompetent, I wouldn't joke around with the company's future by putting you in the General Manager position. I hope you won't disappoint me and can succeed in both career and love."

Donald straightened up and nodded, meeting his encouraging gaze.

"Okay, Mr. Flores, I won't let you down."

Frederick acknowledged him and called HR right in front of him to announce his decision.

After hanging up, he said, "Go ahead with your work. I'm putting Anya in your hands. Remember one thing—keep work and personal life separate. In life, you can spoil her endlessly, but at work, you must have principles."

"Remember, you're the General Manager. Don't just do whatever she says. Men who are too obedient and have no principles are like puppets—women will look down on them and never take them seriously. Understand?"

Donald tried hard to digest his words, half understanding.

Right now, he only had one thought.

No wonder his boss could win over someone as beautiful as Mrs. Flores.

Because he really understood women.
