Chapter 325 Who Will You Save First

Chapter 325 Who Will You Save First

Xandra's words were like a beam of light in the darkness, illuminating the path for him.

Donald took it to heart and quickly thanked her.

"Thank you."

Xandra waved her hand, "No need to thank me. I just don't want my husband to be so busy and still have to worry about Anya. And you're his capable assistant, so consider it helping him out."

Donald had previously held a biased against Xandra because of Anya.

He thought she was just as Anya described - a loose, immoral woman.

Now, however, he realized he had jumped to conclusions.

Xandra had a great personality, smart and gentle, a perfect match for his boss.

He said, "Mrs. Flores, I'm sorry for my attitude toward you earlier."

Xandra replied, "If you really feel sorry, why not work harder and win her over soon."

Donald smiled, "I'll do my best."

"Okay, I'm leaving now."

Xandra left.

After watching her go, Donald returned to Anya's bedroom.

At that moment, Anya was leaning against the headboard with her eyes closed, wrapped in her blanket, tears still glistening in the corners of her eyes.

A flash of tenderness crossed Donald's eyes as he went to the kitchen to get some honey water.

"Anya, I made you some honey water. Have a little."

Anya slowly opened her eyes and took two sips from his hand.

Meeting Donald's concerned gaze, she said through tears, "What she just said was a lie, right? How could a shameless single mom be a wealthy heiress?"

Donald set the honey water aside and said, "Anya, Mrs. Flores has no reason to lie to you. I think she's a good person - beautiful, from a good family, and a great match for Mr. Flores. You should let go of your obsession."

Hearing this, Anya's chest heaved.

"Even you're speaking well of her? Tell me, did she seduce you too? Tell me!"

"How is that possible? Anya, the person I like is you!" Donald blurted out.

Meeting Anya's tearful gaze, he seized the moment and grabbed her hand.

"Anya, I've had a crush on you for two years. Since you joined the company, watching you grow from an innocent girl into a capable professional woman who can hold her own - I don't know when you walked into my heart."

"I like you, and I don't want to keep it hidden anymore. I know I'm not as outstanding as Mr. Flores, but I'll treat you wholeheartedly. Please, let go of your obsession and look at the people around you, okay?"

Anya looked at him without any emotion, just gripping his hand back.

"Donald, I changed for Ray. If you like me, then help me achieve my wish - make them divorce, okay?"

Donald knew she would reject his sudden confession.

But he didn't expect her to say this.

He couldn't help feeling disappointed.

"Anya, Mrs. Flores is right. You can't keep acting like this. Mr. Flores is good to you because your brother did him a favor."

"But if you keep using this as leverage and act recklessly regardless of the consequences, you'll exhaust all that goodwill, and then you'll lose everything."

Anya shook her head frantically, "No, he promised my brother he would take care of me. He would never abandon me! As long as he divorces Xandra, he'll see me!"

She was agitated, and her blanket slipped down with her movements, exposing a large expanse of skin.

Donald's gaze fell on her cleavage. His expression froze, and he swallowed involuntarily.

Anya noticed his gaze and looked down.

Then she pulled him onto the bed.

"Donald, if you can make them divorce, if you want me, I'll give myself to you!"

She kissed Donald's lips.

Donald's thoughts froze for a moment. After a while, his face flushed as he pushed the woman off him.

"Anya, what do you take me for? I'm a decent man, not a tool for you to use against others! Get some rest. I'll be outside if you need anything."

Anya lay on the bed, staring at the ceiling, her tearful eyes full of jealousy and resentment.

"I'm not as pretty as her, don't have her family background - even you look down on me now, don't you?"

Donald paused, sighed, tried to calm himself, and walked out of the bedroom.

He'd give himself one year.

If after a year she still didn't see him, then he'd give up.

Meanwhile.

Xandra returned to Frederick's villa.

The first floor was brightly lit, and Frederick was waiting for her in the living room.

"Honey, you're back."

He stood up and walked toward Xandra.

Xandra changed her shoes and said flatly, "Yeah, Donald and I got her home safely. Donald's taking care of her now, so you don't need to worry."

Frederick observed her expression and took her hand.

"Honey, I'm not worried about her. I'm worried about you."

Xandra looked up, "What are you worried about?"

"Worried that you're angry."

Xandra was silent for a moment, "I'm not angry. Let's go rest."

Frederick's brow furrowed slightly as he gently stroked her hair.

"Really not angry? Honey, we agreed to always be honest with each other."

Xandra met his deep gaze and took a breath.

"I'm really not angry, but my mood is somewhat affected by her. After all, Anya has impure intentions toward you, and she's not someone unimportant. I'm just afraid situations like today will happen often."

Anya would find excuses to contact him from time to time, and he couldn't ignore her.

Hearing Xandra's candid words, Frederick gently pulled her into his embrace.

"I'm sorry, honey. I'll handle it."

Xandra leaned against him, breathing in the man's familiar scent, her voice somewhat muffled.

"How will you handle it? She's your important person."

Frederick heard the dissatisfaction in her tone.

He immediately regretted his earlier slip of the tongue.

Why did he blurt that out?

He knew that no matter how understanding his wife was, she was still a sensitive young woman.

No woman would be understanding enough to accept her husband categorizing another woman who loved him as an important person.

Frederick cupped her face in his hands and said seriously, "Honey, no matter how important she is, she's not as important as you. In my heart, you'll always come first."

Really?

Xandra pouted, "So if both she and I fell into the water, you'd save me first?"

Frederick paused, stifling a laugh.

Most wives would probably only ask, "If your mom and I both fell into the water, whom would you save first?"

But his wife...

"Why aren't you saying anything? Forget it, pretend I never asked. That was silly of me."

Seeing him silent, Xandra felt a bit embarrassed and pulled away his hands, preparing to head upstairs.

Frederick quickly pulled her back into his arms.

"You're not silly. Honey, if you two were both in danger, of course I would save you first."

Xandra looked up, meeting his sincere eyes, and decided she could be a bit sillier.

"Really? But wouldn't that mean you'd be failing her brother's request?"
