Chapter 324 Do You Think He Would Marry You?

Xandra stared at the necklace and let out a light, mocking laugh.

She knew she hadn't been wrong.

During that video call with Anya, the necklace she was wearing around her neck was indeed identical to the one Frederick had given her.

But later, when Frederick asked Anya about it, she was wearing a different necklace.

This wasn't a coincidence—Anya did it on purpose!

If she had been more hot-tempered or sensitive back then, seeing the identical necklace and hearing Anya's vague provocations, she would definitely have fought with Frederick.

And Frederick would surely have thought she was being unreasonable, which would have seriously damaged his impression of her.

That way, Anya would have gotten exactly what she wanted.

Marriage has to be maintained by both people.

But life is made up of small, trivial things.

After the initial passion fades, if both people keep fighting over little things, their feelings will inevitably suffer.

That's exactly the effect Anya was going for.

She wanted all those tiny, insignificant conflicts in daily life to build up bit by bit.

Until they eventually wore away their feelings for each other.

This woman was really calculating.

Xandra put the necklace back and then found her underwear.

Walking to the bedside, she looked down at the woman lying on the bed.

Anya had drunk too much and was frowning, looking very uncomfortable.

Xandra paused for a moment, pushed down all her thoughts, and expressionlessly stripped off all of Anya's clothes.

Her movements weren't exactly gentle.

Anya was probably uncomfortable, so she slowly opened her eyes and made a retching sound, about to vomit.

Xandra quickly moved a nearby trash can closer to the bed.

"Throw up in here."

Anya vomited with a loud sound.

Xandra held her breath against the smell and handed her a pack of tissues.

Anya's chest heaved. She pulled out a tissue to wipe her mouth, then lifted her hazy eyes to look at Xandra for several seconds before recognizing her.

"It's you?"

Seeing this, Xandra said flatly, "You're awake? Are you going to put on your clothes yourself, or do you need me to help you?"

Anya realized she was completely naked and quickly pulled the blanket up over herself.

"What are you still doing here, you shameless woman? Get out!"

Xandra laughed coldly. "I'm shameless? And you trying to be a homewrecker isn't shameless?"

Anya had been drinking, so her mind was working a bit slowly.

When it clicked, she shouted, reeking of alcohol, "I didn't! Ray was mine to begin with! If it weren't for you, he would have married me!"

Xandra laughed mockingly. "Where do you get the confidence to think he'd ever marry you? If you weren't his comrade's sister, do you think he'd even look at you twice?"

Anya clutched the blanket to her chest, glaring angrily at Xandra.

Xandra looked down at her and continued, "Anya, do you know what the biggest difference is between you and me? I have self-respect and self-love. I stay in my lane and never covet things that don't belong to me. Like love that isn't mine."

"Frederick is a married man now. You should know what kind of person he is—he's not some playboy who messes around with women. Since he married me, he'll be devoted to me."

"If I were you, I wouldn't refuse to face reality and try to use your brother's death as leverage to make a man who used to care for you gradually lose respect for you."

"Because the more you act up, the less guilty he'll feel about your brother. As time goes by, eventually you'll wear away all the goodwill he had because of your brother. Think about it!"

These words made Anya's fingers grip the blanket even tighter.

She didn't want to hear this self-righteous talk.

Frederick wouldn't look down on her!

All these years, she'd been the only woman by his side.

He took care of her and treated her gently—he must like her!

"Xandra, stop trying to scare me! Ray does like me, he likes me! He's just slow to act, and I never confessed my feelings, which is why you, you shameless bitch, got there first! As long as you leave him, he'll definitely see how good I am. Get out, get out right now!"

Just then, Donald, hearing the argument, rushed over.

Seeing Anya with red-rimmed eyes and an angry expression, he couldn't help but blame Xandra.

"Mrs. Flores, Ms. Bellamy is drunk. Please be understanding and don't argue with her."

Xandra glanced at him, her eyes somewhat cold.

Meeting her gaze, which resembled Frederick's, Donald belatedly realized he'd overstepped.

He quickly lowered his head.

Xandra's eyes returned to Anya.

"Anya, for the sake of you being my husband's comrade's sister, I'm giving you sincere advice—stop being so stubborn. Forget everything else, if you want to compete with me, you should at least see if you have what it takes, right?"

Anya glared at her and laughed mockingly. "What do you have? You're just a loose single mom, aren't you?"

Xandra said, "Then have you thought about why, even though I'm supposedly so terrible, my husband still chose me?"

Anya choked, staring at her refined and elegant face, and said sourly, "You're just a bit prettier and more shameless, that's all."

Xandra replied, "If being shameless can win a man's heart, then shameless becomes a compliment."

"You..."

"Anya, there's something I forgot to tell you. Actually, my background isn't ordinary at all."

Xandra interrupted her. "You probably don't know this, but I'm the biological daughter of Tony, the head of the Spark Creation Group. I'm now an heiress worth billions of dollars. Do you still think I'm not good enough for Frederick?"

"If you want to compete with me, first you need to be prettier than me, and second, your family background needs to at least match mine. You can't beat me in either area, so why would he like you?"

Anya stared at her blankly, her drunkenness sobering up a bit.

"That's impossible. How could you be Tony's biological daughter?"

"Don't believe me? Wait until you sober up tomorrow and ask my husband. Let him tell you himself."

After saying this, Xandra turned to look at Donald standing nearby.

"Alright, I'll leave taking care of her to you. I'm leaving now."

Donald was stunned for two seconds, then quickly saw her out.

As Xandra stepped through the door, she glanced back at him.

"Donald, do you like Anya?"

The sudden question made Donald's eyes flicker, and he didn't respond.

Xandra understood and said, "If you like her, then talk some sense into her. Tell her not to waste time on someone who's not worth it, and help her see that you exist."

Hearing this, Donald smiled bitterly. "Her eyes are only on Mr. Flores. Mr. Flores is so outstanding, she probably wouldn't be interested in an ordinary person like me."

Xandra said, "Opportunities are created by yourself. You've never openly pursued her, have you?"

Donald remained silent, which was as good as admitting it.

Xandra said, "Donald, life is short. Be brave while you're young. Put in more effort—women are mostly emotional. As long as you're good enough to her, she'll notice you eventually."

She paused, then added, "Of course, this kind of 'being good' doesn't mean endlessly giving until she takes it for granted. Set yourself a time limit. When the time's up, if she's still too blind to see how good you are, then cut your losses."
