Epilogue

A father and his son were on their little boat, fishing together in the river. They had caught a handful of fish but they were all caught by the man, and not his son.

"We have enough fish, son, so how about we get going home? It's starting to get late," The man told his son.

"But I haven't even caught a single fish yet?" The boy said sadly.

"Ok. I'll help you to catch one fish and then we can go. Does that sound okay?" The father asked.

"Yes, it does. Thanks, Daddy."

And so, they continued trying to catch one last fish until the boy's fishing hook got stuck to something.

"Tug on it, boy!" His father instructed and he pulled his fishing rod but couldn't pull out the fish, until he finally did.

It wasn't a fish as he had hoped, it was a man's shoe.

"Well, would you look at that son? You caught a shoe. Perhaps we can have shoeshi for dinner," his father teased him.

"That's not funny, Dad," the boy said angrily.

"Don't worry. We'll come out back here tomorrow and you can try again," he said and paddled the boat along the river.

They were moving when they noticed the second shoe floating on the water and a man not too far from it. The man seemed dead as he lay by the river, unconscious.

"Daddy, look! It's a person!"

The fisherman paddled his little canoe closer until they got to the man in the river. He came down and went to him to check if he was still alive.

"He's still breathing but barely. We have to get him home so your Mama can treat his wounds,"

His son helped him and they carried the stranger into their boat and sailed back to their home. The fisherman arrived at the riverbank and carried the wounded stranger to his humble home.

When his wife saw him coming, she ran over to him.

"What's going on, George? Who's this?"

"I don't know, Mary. We found him in the river and he's badly hurt,"

"Well, bring him inside so I can take a look at him," Mary, the wife said.

They took him in and the wife saw to his wounds and bandaged him up, managing to save his life.

"He is pretty banged up, George. He has three bullet wounds on his torso and some broken ribs. He's missing his right hand and also has a concussion. He's really lucky to be alive," Mary said.

"When he wakes up and he's feeling much better, we'll get him into town and to a hospital," George said.

Just then, the stranger woke up and was coughing. The couple and their son moved closer to him.

"Are you okay, Sir?" The woman asked.

"Where am I?"

"You're in our home but who are you? What's your name?" She asked.

"My name is Addicus. Addicus James Worthington."
