Adriana getting all scared when her fever didn’t come down after feeding her medicine, she took her to the hospital and was told her daughter had an appendix that needs surgery immediately. Jessica told her mother, Julia is dead.

Adriana’s heart jumped and fear gripped her as she ran over to him, “Scott, Scott??” She called slapping his cheeks slightly but he didn’t response but instead he was sweating profusely on his forehead.

Adriana carried him on her back, running out of the house with no shoes on.

When she came across an hospital on the way, she ran inside with bead of sweats coming out of her hair, “Doc, please help my child. He-he suddenly passed out after complaining of stomachache,” She cried to the doctor that came to her.

“Come place him on the bed,” The doctor instructed and Adriana carefully place him on the bed while the doctor gave him a shot and took out his blood for test.

“I already gave him a shot to reduce his temperature and I will carry out some test to check what’s wrong with him,” With that the doctor left.

…..

Few hours later, Scott has woken up and Adriana was waiting for the results and just right in time, the doctor walked to her.

“So, w-what’s wrong with him? Is he going to be fine?” Adriana quickly asked.

“Hm, to be honest, your son has a cancer in his blood,” The Doctor started “But fortunately for him, he’s just at the first stage and he needs surgery as soon as possible,” The doctor told her and her face dropped, her walls broken down into pieces and she tried her best not to shed tears.

“Wh,,what do i need to pay for? And what document do I need to get my son out of this situation?” She trembled while the doctor brought out a surgery agreement and payment forms.

“Here is it, When you’ve made the payment, you can bring it over to my office once signed and we will carry out surgery on him immediately but please make sure you make it snappy,” The doctor explained and he excused himself after that.

Adriana looked at the documents on her hand, she fell back on her seat when she saw the bills, “W-where do I find this?” She cried looking back at Scott who’s now sleeping, she held his hand tenderly.

Her tears ran out, “I will save you Scott, I will do anything to save you,” She muttered lowering her head on the bed.

“Adriana??” She suddenly heard her name called behind and that made her tilted her head, she ran Dora running over.

Adriana had called her earlier and told her about the situation.

“Dora? What should I do?” Adriana let out tears immediately she saw her, Dora pulled her into a warm hug as she pat her gently on her back.

“I’m,,I’m pretty sure he’s going to be alright,” Dora whispered while trying not to cry as well.

After some minutes, The two had pulled away from each other while Dora pulled out a chair and sat opposite Adriana, “The slippers you asked me to bring,” Dora dropped a pair of slippers and that was when Adriana remembered she ran here with no shoes on.

“Hm, thank you,” Adriana mumbled and wore the slippers.

“So, how much for the surgery? He should be treated on ASAP,” Dora asked

“$200,000”

“I will see if I can tell my boss to pay my salary in advance, Scott must survive this, I-“

Adriana shook her head, “No, no Dora, you’ve done so much for us, you provided shelter for us, food and so many more. I should do this instead even if I’d have to take loans,” She chirped 

“Come on Ana, I will do whatever to help as well. Don’t worry too much about it, I’m doing this on my free will,” Dora insisted.

Jessica returned back home, “Mom will be so shocked to see this but she will accept it no matter what,” Jessica mumbled dropping the documents on her desk.

“Jess? Have been searching for you, where did you go this early morning?” Her mother asked coming into the room.

“I went for this- I got I call from Gina and Simone… the people that adopted Julia if I’m right?” She told and her mom got more curious.

“What did they say? Did,,did they help us find her already?” The woman curiously asked.

“Hmm, They gave me this,” Jessica stretch out the certificate. “Julia’s Death Certificate,” She announced and immediately Mrs Alberto almost crumbled.

“W.what did you just say?” She asked for confirmation.

“Julia is dead, mom” 

The rest of it seemed blank and the next thing Jessica saw was her mother passing out on the floor.
