Chapter 97

Chapter 97
Finally, Samantha's wedding day arrived.

It was held in a luxurious resort with a breathtaking view of the ocean. The sun was shining mildly, the sky was clear, and a gentle breeze was blowing through the air.

There were a hundred guests in attendance, including the bride and groom’s close friends and family members.

Samantha was glowing as she walked down the aisle, her white dress shimmering in the sunlight. Her groom was waiting for her at the altar, with a look of pure love in his eyes.

I wasn't the type to easily feel envious. However, at that moment, I couldn't help but feel a twinge of envy while watching the beautiful ceremony unfold.

The ceremony was intimate and heartfelt, with Samantha and her groom exchanging vows that brought tears to the eyes of the guests.

After the wedding, the reception was a lavish affair, complete with delicious food, dancing, and toasts to the happy couple.

I was having fun until I spotted Crimson in the crowd, accompanied by a stunning woman. They looked quite close. I found myself stealing glances at him. It was clear that he was happy with her company.

Crimson leaned closer and whispered in the woman's ear, which made her giggle and blush. I gulped down the contents of my wine glass in one go and tore my eyes away from them.

Later that evening, a knock sounded on my hotel room door. I was surprised to see Crimson when I opened it.

“Can I come in?”

“Sure,” I replied, opening the door for him, thinking that there must be something important he wanted to talk about.

I was about to close the door when an employee entered, carrying two tall wine glasses and a bottle of wine.

“I didn't order anything,” I told him, surprised.

“It's a gift from the hotel. Please enjoy your night, ma'am.”

“Thank you.” I let him in, and he placed the glasses and the wine on the table before leaving.

“You ordered some wine?” Crimson's brows were furrowed.

“No, it was a gift from the hotel,” I replied, pouring us each a glass.

We sat in silence for a moment, both lost in our thoughts.

The liquid slid down my dry throat. Closing my eyes, I reveled in the blissful warmth as it eased my dryness.

This wine tastes good, I thought to myself, pouring myself another glass. He poured himself too.

Few minutes passed by but neither of us spoke. We just drank wine in silence.

I hadn't been sitting on the couch for long when my body began to feel warm. I was still wearing my blazer, so I decided to take it off.

My eyes landed on Crimson, and I found him intently staring at me, his face flushed.

“Is there something wrong?”

“Nothing,” he replied. He started unbuttoning his shirt, making me swallow hard. A few moments later he got up, “I have to go.” Before I knew it, he was out the door.

Grabbing the remote I found under the second layer of the glass table, I turned the air conditioning unit to the coldest temperature it could go. The room turned cold, but my body temperature stayed warm.

“I must have been drunk,” I grumbled to myself. Pushing my body forward with both hands for support, I got to my feet.

A cold bath. Yes, that’s what I needed right now! I thought to myself. I went to the bathroom and closed the door behind me without making a sound.

I slowly submerged my body into the cold, inviting water. A blissful sigh escaped my lips, and my body gradually relaxed.

A few minutes later, I returned to my room with only a towel on to find I wasn't alone. Crimson was there.

I should have ordered him to leave, but I couldn't seem to find my voice.

For what felt like an eternity, we remained staring at each other.

His eyes were soft as they gazed at me. Lifting his hand, he cupped my cheeks. That was my chance to push him away, but it felt like my strength had been drained, and I couldn't resist it when he leaned close and kissed me on the lips.

His breath smelled of mint and wine. Addicting. Exhilarating. The kiss was hard and wild, making me forget the whole world existed.

Closing my eyes, I responded to the kiss. My arms wrapped around his neck, letting the towel fall to the floor.

He paused and asked, "Do you want me to stop?”

My brain said yes, but my body screamed hell no. I just kissed him in response. He understood and carried me to the bed.

Meanwhile,

At the front desk, the receptionist was busy typing on the computer when the phone rang. She picked up the receiver and greeted the caller with practiced politeness.

"This is Mr. Thomas at Room 312. We ordered a bottle of wine for our room earlier this evening, and it still hasn't arrived. We were hoping to enjoy it after dinner, but it seems to have been forgotten.”

The receptionist sighed. She had been dealing with grumpy customers for years and could handle this one without breaking a sweat.

“I would like to apologize for the oversight, Mr. Thomas. For clarification, what wine did you two order?”

“Aphrodisiac Wine! We are VIP guests, and it's complimentary for newly married couples. But just because it's complimentary doesn't mean you can keep us waiting for hours.”

The receptionist sighed for what felt like the umpteenth time. She flipped the mouse, checking the details in the log entry. A deep frown creased her forehead when she saw the status marked as delivered.

“Sir, are you sure that the wine wasn't delivered to your room? I just checked the log, and it states ‘delivered.’”

The man on the line exploded, "Of course I'm sure! We checked the room thoroughly, and there's no sign of it anywhere!"

She took a deep breath, trying to remain calm in the face of the customer's anger.

"I'm terribly sorry for the inconvenience, Mr. Thomas. I'll make sure to have another bottle of Aphrodisiac wine sent to your room right away. Please accept my sincerest apologies."

After hanging up the phone, she quickly called the room service department and instructed them to deliver the wine to Room 312 as soon as possible. She hoped this would placate Mr. Thomas and his wife, and that they would still be able to enjoy their evening.

Returning to her computer, she couldn't help but ponder why the wine had not been delivered initially. Was there a mix-up, and had the wine ended up in another room? Unable to find an answer, she simply shrugged. There was nothing she could do about it now.
