Chapter 522 Poisoned
Chapter 522 Poisoned
Leonard, despite being an esports athlete, always took great care of his health.
He had never even had a cold or fever, so this sudden illness was definitely suspicious. Someone must be behind it.
Gripping the handrail tightly, Leonard's face was pale as he struggled to stay upright.
Were those guys really that impatient?
Or had they just realized he was planning to escape?
...
Meanwhile, Ash was speeding down the street in a rented car, with Aurora sitting in the passenger seat, her face serious as she studied a map.
"Are you sure this location is accurate?"
"The auction address is at the government building in the Triangle District?"
Ash slammed on the brakes, looking at Aurora in disbelief.
"What did you say? The government building?"
"How is that possible? How could the address be at the government building?"
The Special Events Bureau had done basic research on this border auction. It could be anywhere, but definitely not at the government building.
Worried that Ash wouldn't believe her, Aurora picked up the map and the tracking device, showing him the coordinates.
"Why would I lie to you?"
"It really is at the government building, and it seems to be right in the center."
With a loud bang, Ash punched the steering wheel, his eyes blazing with anger.
"Damn it! The tracking device has been tampered with!"
"Leonard's tracking system must have been discovered. What do we do now?"
Aurora's expression turned grim as she realized the situation.
"So, you're saying we've been heading in the wrong direction all this time?"
Ash's face was equally grim, but he could only nod heavily.
He didn't want to admit it, but there was no other choice.
Aurora was almost certain of her guess—Leonard had been discovered.
A glint of determination flashed in Ash's eyes as he looked at Aurora cautiously.
"Can you estimate the general location? I remember you had that ability before."
She did, but...
Aurora's expression became complicated, her lips pressed together as she hesitated.
Leonard had spent so much time with her that their fates were intertwined. Trying to locate Leonard now would be like trying to locate herself, and it could backfire.
Of course, Aurora didn't want to explain this to Ash.
After thinking for a moment, Aurora decided to give a plausible excuse.
"This isn't home turf. I can't pinpoint the exact location. Do you have a rough idea?"
"I can try to figure it out."
"Yes, don't worry, I definitely have that!" Ash nodded firmly.
The Special Events Bureau might not be infallible, but their preliminary data and coordination were thorough.
Ash provided Aurora with five potential locations, all results from the Special Events Bureau's investigation.
Aurora calculated carefully, her face serious as she spoke.
"Turn east. I know where it is."
