Chapter 99 Earth Elemental Wolf
Chapter 99 Earth Elemental Wolf
Lulu
The Grand Hall absolutely erupted with panicked whispers and shocked gasps.
"Silence!" Caspian growled. The sheer power of his booming voice rattled the windowpanes, instantly restoring order to the room. He shot a piercing glare at Niobe. "Continue."
"According to the ancient texts we managed to recover from the sacred grounds of the Order of Ignis, this ritual demands four specific targets to achieve full binding power," Niobe explained, her fingers tracing a glowing blue tracking spell over the map on her podium. "Four hearts of elemental wolves."
She looked up, her gaze landing squarely on the Alpha's throne.
"The world believes that the Elemental Water bloodline died out centuries ago," Niobe said, her voice dropping to a chilling, piercing clarity. "However, our intel confirms otherwise. The last surviving Elemental Water wolf is Morpheus Bloodworth—Alpha Caspian’s real identity, which was deliberately hidden from the world."
A deathly silence fell over the Grand Hall. A few Elders froze in their seats, their faces turning completely pale. The high-ranking wolves stared in absolute, paralysed shock.
Caspian stood up, his massive, imposing frame casting a long shadow across the dais.
Niobe raised both hands, murmuring a complex incantation. An aura of shimmering, pure sapphire light burst from her fingertips, swirling around Caspian's body.
The Identity Flux potion he’d been using to shield his true identity from a world full of enemies began to peel away like smoke.
As the magic faded completely, his breathtaking, majestic true form was revealed to the entire pack.
His features grew sharper, more mature, radiating a raw, ancient majesty that made the air buzz with the scent of a crashing ocean storm.
For a long, tense moment, nobody dared to breathe. Then, as if suddenly snapping back to the reality of the royal bloodline standing before them, the oldest Elder stood up, followed immediately by the other seven.
One by one, the high-ranking warriors dropped to one knee, bowing their heads in the highest form of respect.
"Morpheus Bloodworth," Elder Thomas whispered, his voice trembling with awe. "You've finally shown yourself."
Caspian remained standing, his face a cold, unyielding mask of absolute authority.
Amidst the heavy gravity of the revelation, one of the senior Elders stepped forward, his hand shaking slightly as he looked up at the dais.
"If... if our Alpha is the target for the Water Element... then what about the other one? Who holds the heart of the Earth Element?"
Every single pair of eyes in the room turned back to Niobe.
A cold, knowing smirk curled at the corner of the Elite Hunter's lips, breaking the stiff tension in the hall with a thrilling sense of dread.
"That’s the surprise, Elders," Niobe whispered, her eyes flashing with a dangerous excitement. "You'd honestly never guess who the Earth Elemental wolf actually is."
The atmosphere grew even more suffocating. Before Niobe could open her mouth again, Beta Rohan took a step forward into the centre of the hall and used his mind-link to call someone outside the doors.
"Send Elite Hunter Erick in," Rohan ordered firmly.
The heavy double doors of the Grand Hall swung open, and Erick strode in confidently, carrying a thick file. Caspian, now back on his throne in his majestic true form, fixed Erick with a sharp look.
"Erick, present your findings to the Elders," Caspian commanded, his voice echoing heavily.
"Right, Alpha," Erick replied obediently. He opened the black folder in his hand, pulled out a large photograph, and placed it on the central magic board for everyone to see.
The photo showed a stern-faced male wolf with a deep look of sorrow in his eyes.
I'd never seen the man in the photo before, but his face looked strangely familiar.
Erick started reading out the data in a crisp, clear voice, "Name: Logan Byrne. He was the older brother of Alpha Scott.”
Erick’s next explanation shed light on his short lifespan due to a degenerative disease.
"Logan Byrne became an Earth Elemental hybrid wolf. Erick revealed the fact that Scott and Logan’s biological mother was a powerful Earth Elemental witch, who also passed away from the same degenerative disease due to the elemental instability in her body."
My mind instantly flashed back to the past. I remembered clear as day how Scott had been raised by Elder Ruth since he was a kid, because his mum had passed away when Scott was only just entering his teens.
All this time, the whole pack thought his mother was just a normal, weak wolf. Nobody knew the woman was actually an elemental witch.
In Emerald Earth, my old pack, elemental witches were absolutely hated, hunted down, and viewed as magical freaks.
I closed my eyes for a second, feeling a sharp pang in my chest. I’d been incredibly lucky back then.
My dad, being a Beta who was very close to Scott’s dad—the Alpha of the pack—got full, secret protection, even though he knew I was also born an elemental hybrid wolf.
"However, Logan Byrne passed away before his heart could be taken," Niobe’s voice cut through my memories, snapping my attention back to the centre of the hall.
Niobe looked at me, her expression suddenly shifting into a mix of sympathy and deadly seriousness.
"An elemental bloodline never truly vanishes if there are descendants to carry it on," Niobe continued, stepping closer to the dais. "And based on the laws of pure magical genetics, that Earth Elemental wolf blood now flows and ends inside the body of your son, Luna Lulu... Elijah."
"What?!"
A choked gasp escaped my lips. My entire body went completely numb. Everyone in the hall was utterly shell-shocked, including the Elders, who immediately looked at each other in sheer horror.
Beside me, Caspian tensed, his grip on the armrest of the throne so violent that the marble cracked.
Elijah... my baby boy, who was barely over a month old, who had just been trying to catch butterflies in the garden a few hours ago, was the holder of the Earth Elemental heart they were looking for.
Suddenly, the pieces of this mental puzzle fell into place. I finally understood why that Dark Sorcerer had risked breaking through Sapphire Water's high-level defences to target my baby’s nursery yesterday.
They wanted to rip my little boy's chest open for that mad resurrection ritual!
