Chapter 113 They Took Him

Chapter 113 They Took Him
Lulu
"Spot on," Dorian muttered. His voice was husky, dark eyes fixed on the Iqxe Mud symbols covering Elijah’s skin.
Dorian started moving his fingers through the air, weaving threads of transparent magic that glowed a shimmering silver-blue.
An ancient incantation rolled effortlessly off his tongue:
"O maiores, custodes terrae, concedite ut hoc corpus parvum sub vestra tutela sit."
Pyrrha hissed restlessly, but at the same time sent a wave of maternal warmth radiating from my chest.
As her threads of power surged from within me, Elijah’s eyes fluttered open for a second before closing again.
The woven threads absorbed straight into his body, spreading across the surface of the Iqxe mud.
When Dorian gave the cue, I closed my eyes, letting my aura blend with the wave of his magic.
Dorian’s magical energy wrapped around Elijah in a solid, protective shield. Together—a mother’s soul and Dorian’s magic—we became an impenetrable barrier for Elijah.
Over in the corner of the room, Seer Esthenel stood holding her tightly bandaged hands.
Despite being wounded by yesterday’s supernatural attack, she looked up toward the stone ceiling, chanting sacred prayers to the Moon Goddess.
“Moon Goddess, protect blood of our blood. Blind the darkness to this seed of life…” Esthenel whispered, full of longing and surrender.
The synergy felt incredible. The protective energy surged sky-high, vibrating through the entire Sapphire Water ritual room.
Then, just as the final rune on Elijah’s chest was about to lock his power in permanently…
A massive explosion slammed into the ritual room's west wall. Giant stone splinters flew like bullets, accompanied by a thick, dark mist.
The shrieks of werewolf warriors immediately echoed from outside.
"Lulu, stay in position!" Caspian barked.
His Alpha aura exploded wildly. From behind the dense black fog, three figures walked calmly through the flames and rubble.
Leading the pack, cutting through the chill of the room with a chilling aura of death, was Vane.
The Dark Sorcerer leader had a smug smirk on his face, eyes gleaming with victory.
To his left stood Sariel, a faint smile on her face as she wove a swirling illusion.
To his right, Malphas—the Shadow Leech—brought a heavy darkness that instantly sucked the oxygen right out of the room.
"You’re far too late," Vane whispered, his voice echoing coldly in our minds. "The heart of that elemental hybrid child is the best organ we’ve been looking for."
"Dorian, don't stop for a second, finish the ritual!" Caspian ordered sharply, without turning around.
Dorian gritted his teeth, cold sweat dripping down his temples. He poured all his energy into locking down the final spell, ignoring his former ally.
"I’ll hold them off," Caspian added, his wolf aura thrashing wildly. "Lulu, guard the front line with the strongest warriors!"
I leaped in front of the ritual table, stepping up beside the giant wolf forms of the Sapphire Water warriors, who were already growling fiercely.
Pyrrha snarled inside me, ready to tear apart anyone who dared lay a finger on Elijah.
"Sariel, Malphas, deal with these dogs," Vane ordered coldly.
Caspian moved first. With an Alpha roar that shook the earth, he slammed his foot down.
Spouts of water burst from the floor, followed by a torrent of deep ocean-blue elemental water blasting straight at Vane and his cronies.
The combo of Caspian’s water attacks should’ve been enough to wipe out any gang of sorcerers in seconds.
But what happened next made my blood run cold.
Sariel just flicked her wrist. A black mirror illusion shimmered in the air, splitting Caspian’s water wave in two and sending it smashing into an empty wall.
Meanwhile, Malphas opened his mouth wide. A fog of shadow burst from his body, absorbing Caspian’s second water attack until it froze into useless black dust.
Caspian’s Elemental Magic didn't work at all.
"How is that even possible..." I muttered in disbelief.
Sariel let out a shrill laugh. "You built up this place with natural magic, but our power comes from eternal darkness. Your Elementas mean nothing to us!"
Malphas darted toward the Sapphire Water warriors. In seconds, three of our strongest wolves collapsed, howling in agony as their life force and blood were drained dry, leaving their bodies instantly withered.
Caspian roared in fury, fully shifting into a giant gray wolf with blazing golden eyes.
He lunged at Malphas, but Vane only needed to flick his leather-gloved hand.
A shockwave of Dark Magic slammed into Caspian’s chest, throwing the massive Alpha backwards into a stone pillar, shattering it to pieces.
"Caspian!" I screamed hysterically.
I lunged forward, claws and fangs at the ready as I tried to slash at Sariel, who was moving terrifyingly fast.
But every time my claws came close to tearing her throat open, Sariel’s body vanished into a misty illusion.
Instead, a whip of dark magic whipped into my side, hurling me to the ground near the ritual table.
Fresh blood spilled from my mouth. We were totally outmatched. These Dark Sorcerers were on a whole different level, completely untouchable by any wolf’s physical strength.
Through the haze of smoke and the screams of dying warriors, Vane casually stepped over Caspian, who was struggling to get up while pinned by Malphas's dark magic chains.
Vane turned his gaze to Dorian.
"You betrayed me for a bastard child, Dorian?" Vane sneered.
Dorian, who was just wrapping up the final words of his spell, didn't have time to dodge. Vane pointed his hand straight at Dorian's chest.
A sudden burst of pitch-black light hit Dorian's heart point-blank.
Dorian coughed up dark blood as his magical shield shattered instantly. He collapsed to his knees, completely paralyzed as Vane’s dark magic engulfed him.
Dorian groaned loudly, looking at me with deep regret before his head dropped onto the stone floor.
"No, Dorian!" I screamed with what little strength I had left, trying to crawl forward.
But it was too late.
Vane strolled up to the stone table where Elijah was still fast asleep, protected only by the fading remnants of the spell threads.
With a cold, ruthless smile, Vane gathered Elijah’s tiny body into his arms.
"Elijah!" I shrieked, the voices of my wolf and human merging in soul-crushing despair.
I tried to push myself up, but Sariel slammed her heel down on my back, pinning my face into the dirt and blood.
Through my blurry vision, filled with tears and blood, I could only watch the most horrific sight of my life.
Caspian roared helplessly in his dark chains. Dorian lay paralyzed and motionless. And Vane just stood there in the middle of the ruined room, looking at me with total triumph as he held my boy tight.
"Thanks for the perfect ritual, Luna Lulu," Vane whispered coldly.
In the blink of an eye, pitch darkness cut off my view as Vane, Sariel, and Malphas vanished into a black tear in dimension, taking Elijah with them.
“NOOO!”
