Chapter 107 Legally, Spiritually, and Physically
Caspian
I was standing out on my study balcony, having a final few sips of my warm herbal tea, when the mind link cracked open in my head.
\[Alpha Caspian, the patrol wolves on the outer border are reporting movement. A convoy’s just crossed the outermost perimeter. It’s Alpha Scott from Emerald Earth, and he’s brought his elite squad with him.\]
I set my porcelain cup down without making a sound. Instead of being shocked, a cold smirk crept onto my face. The wolf inside me let out a thoroughly satisfied grunt.
Finally. The wounded rat had actually turned up, walking straight into my trap.
I’d been waiting for this exact moment. Thanks to Erick—my best spy, who’d been playing his part flawlessly over at Emerald Earth—I knew exactly what kind of absolute shitstorm had just broken Scott’s mental stability.
I knew all about the love potion Elder Ruth had forced down Scott’s throat, and I knew the bastard had finally realised Lulu’s elemental heart had been ripped out just to benefit another scheming woman by his side.
He’d come here with what little was left of his shattered pride, trying to reclaim something that wasn’t even his anymore—but it wasn’t going to be that easy.
I keyed into the mind link to call my right-hand man. “Rohan. Get ready at the main gates. Our VIP guest from Emerald Earth has arrived. Make sure we give them a proper welcome, but let them know exactly who runs the show on this turf.”
\[Understood, Alpha,\] Rohan replied instantly.
I headed downstairs with a confident stride, my Sapphire Water ceremonial robes sweeping elegantly across the marble floor. Pure, unadulterated Alpha dominance rolled off me with every step.
As the massive iron gates swung open, a line of jet-black vans belonging to Emerald Earth pulled up, and a few of their elite warriors stepped out. Right in the middle of them stood Scott.
He looked a proper mess. Even though he was trying to keep up the rigid posture of an Alpha, I could see the sheer exhaustion, frustration, and volatile rage radiating off him. His eyes were bloodshot, and his wolf’s aura was thick in the air, but it felt completely aimless.
I stepped forward, crossing my arms with a level of calm that completely contrasted his state.
"Welcome to Sapphire Water, Alpha Scott," I said. "What an honour it is to have the ruler of Emerald Earth travel all this way to our lands... especially after the total internal chaos I hear you’ve been dealing with back home. Are you looking for a place to hide out?"
Scott let out a low growl, the vibration making a few of the lower-ranking wolves around us drop their heads. Still, he fought hard to suppress his wolf’s ego, meeting my gaze with a forced, hollow politeness.
"I didn’t come here to trade barbs with you, Caspian. I’m here on much more important business. I want to see Lulu. Now."
I chuckled softly, a dismissive laugh designed specifically to poke at his already fragile ego.
"See Lulu? On what grounds do you think you have the right to ask that, Scott? Why on earth are you so sure she’d even want to lay eyes on you after all the misery you let her go through?"
"She’s my Luna!" Scott snapped, taking a step forward. His dominant, masculine aura tried to heavy the atmosphere around us, sparking a tense, suffocating cold war. "Everything that happened in the past was because of my own Elder’s dark magic manipulation! I’m here to put it right now. Move your men out of my way."
I didn’t flinch. Scott’s heavy aura felt like nothing more than a passing breeze against my own unyielding position as the dominant Alpha on my home turf. I took a step closer, staring straight into his burning golden eyes.
"Listen to me very carefully, Scott. This is Sapphire Water. On this land, my word is absolute law," I warned, dropping my voice an octave. "If you or a single one of your men dares to act up or flash a claw in my territory, I won’t hesitate to send you all back in body bags. Don’t ever test my patience."
Scott clenched his fists so hard his knuckles turned white, the veins in his neck bulging as he fought down a wave of pure fury. "You can’t keep her from me forever! Our bond can’t just be wiped clean by your unilateral claims!"
"Unilateral claims?" I raised an eyebrow, enjoying every single second of the emotional breakdown he was going through. "You’re way too late, Scott. I’ve already claimed Lulu completely as my mate. Not only that, but our union and her status as the official Luna of Sapphire Water has been fully ratified and blessed by our highest Elders. Legally, spiritually, and physically, she is none of your business anymore. You coming here... it’s nothing but the pathetic effort of a man who doesn’t know how to let go."
"You opportunistic bastard!" Scott roared, finally unable to maintain the arrogant facade he’d always used as a shield.
He genuinely believed he had the ultimate right over Lulu’s life, viewing her as some piece of property he’d lost due to a technical error.
It was honestly hilarious watching how strained every single one of his movements was. He was still clinging to the delusion that Lulu loved him, when I knew for a fact she absolutely loathed him.
When I flashed the mating mark on my wrist, Scott’s eyes widened before instantly narrowing again. The wolf growl stayed trapped in the back of his throat.
I just burst out laughing. My laughter echoed through the quiet courtyard, sounding incredibly mocking and smug.
"Stubborn and thick. What a perfect combo for an Alpha with zero self-awareness. You think past affection wipes out betrayal? You let her heart get broken, you let her elemental heart get ripped out, and now you have the cheek to show up asking for a second chance because you think you're the victim?"
"You don't know a thing about us!"
Our argument was getting incredibly heated. Two dominant Alphas locking eyes at close range, giving off such a thick wave of testosterone that the air around us felt heavy to breathe. This cold war was all about ego, pride, and absolute ownership over the same she-wolf.
"I know one thing you don't, Scott," I said, dropping my voice to a lethal whisper. I deliberately threw out the final bait that would completely shatter his defences. "Our little chat tonight isn’t just about Lulu anymore. It’s about something much bigger. Something that carries your blood, but is now completely under my protection."
Scott suddenly froze. The flash of rage in his eyes was instantly replaced by a wide, terrified tremor.
I gave a faint, completely relaxed smile, knowing absolute victory was mine. "Lulu gave birth. A boy. And we named him together—not his father."
Those words hit Scott right in the chest like a bolt of lightning out of the blue. All the arrogance, pride, and entitlement he’d been throwing around collapsed in the blink of an eye. His solid frame actually swayed back a bit, as if the very ground beneath him had been ripped away.
I watched the shift in his face intently. The tough, untouchable Alpha was gone, leaving behind nothing but a man consumed by absolute despair.
His eyes shook violently as he looked at me with a desperate, pleading gaze; something no Emerald Earth Alpha had ever shown in the history of our packs.
"My son..." Scott whispered, his voice incredibly hoarse, cracking under the storm of emotions raging inside him. He looked over toward the pack house, as if he could see right through the concrete walls to his own flesh and blood. "I... I want to see him, Caspian. Please. I want to see her son—my son."
Even seeing the raw desperation on my enemy’s face, I kept my composure. My plan had worked out flawlessly.
Scott was now brought to his knees right under the shadow of my power, tortured by the fact that the thing he wanted most in the world was entirely in my hands and he didn't have the strength to do a damn thing about it.
