Unexpected reunion
Dimitri knew he was facing a serious problem with these two women in his office, so he decided to try to calm Yulia down.
"Yulia, it's not what it looks like. I was just getting this crazy woman out of here," Dimitri explained, letting go of Sarah.
"Crazy? I am the crazy one? You are the cheater here!" Sarah yelled, trying to cause trouble between Dimitri and Yulia.
"Shut up, harlot! Dimitri is my husband, and I'm not going to let someone like you take him away from me!" Yulia responded furiously.
The two women lunged at each other, pulling hair and shouting insults.
"Let go, bitch! Dimitri loves me!" Sarah screamed, scratching Yulia's face.
"In your dreams, whore! Dimitri is mine!" Yulia retorted, pulling Sarah's hair.
Fed up with the situation, Dimitri called security.
"Get these two crazies out of here! Now!" he ordered, pointing to Sarah and Yulia.
The security guards quickly entered, separating the women and forcibly removing them from the office.
"Dimitri! You can't do this to me! I'm your wife!" Yulia shouted as the guards dragged her toward the exit.
"This isn't over, Dimitri! You will be mine, you'll see!" Sarah threatened, trying to break free from the guards' grip.
Dimitri slumped back in his chair, massaging his temples. He couldn't believe the circus his life had become.
"Laura... Why did you have to betray me? None of this would be happening if it weren't for you," he muttered bitterly.
Meanwhile, Sarah and Yulia were expelled from the building, shouting and cursing at Dimitri.
"This isn't over, Dimitri Petrov! You'll pay for this!" Sarah yelled, adjusting her trench coat.
"And you, damn whore, stay away from my husband! Or I'll gouge your eyes out!" Yulia threatened, pointing at Sarah with her finger.
The two women glared at each other with hatred before going their separate ways.
Yulia returned home, crying and cursing Dimitri for his supposed infidelity.
"How could he do this to me? After everything I've done for him!" she sobbed, throwing herself on the bed.
Meanwhile, Sarah returned to Cassini Mansion, furious and humiliated.
"Dimitri Petrov, you will be mine. No matter what I have to do, I will have you in my bed," she vowed with a dark look.
Far away, in a modest daycare on the outskirts of a city, Laura was saying goodbye to her little son with a kiss on the forehead and a hug full of love.
"Mommy will be back soon, my love. Be a good boy, okay?" she said, trying to hold back tears.
Little Luke smiled at her, clutching his teddy bear.
Laura felt her heart split in two as she left him, but she knew she had no other choice. Since fleeing from Dimitri and her past, she had to struggle every day to get by without the help of her beloved grandmother.
With one last kiss, Laura said goodbye and headed to her job at the fashion house. As she walked through the bustling streets, her mind wandered in memories and thoughts.
"Luke, my love, I miss you so much," she sighed, looking up at the sky. "I wish you were here with me, watching our son grow."
But despite the pain she still felt from Luke's loss, Laura couldn't deny the confusion that flooded her heart every time she thought about Dimitri.
"What's happening to me?" she wondered, frustrated. "How can I feel something for the man who has hurt me so much? Could this be what they call Stockholm syndrome?"
Laura shook her head, trying to push those thoughts away. She couldn't afford to feel anything for Dimitri, not after everything that had happened.
The day went on as usual at the fashion house, amidst designs, fabrics, and the excitement of preparations for the upcoming fashion show. Laura immersed herself in her work, grateful for the distraction it provided.
But when it was time to leave, a surprise awaited her on the street.
As she walked to the daycare to pick up her son, a luxurious car pulled up beside her. The door opened, and Laura was stunned to see who stepped out.
"Lucas?" she exclaimed, incredulous.
Luke's cousin, with his characteristic elegant demeanor and charming smile, approached her.
"Laura, it's so good to see you," he said, kissing her cheek. "It's been such a long time."
Laura didn't know how to react. Lucas's presence brought with it a flood of memories and mixed emotions.
"Lucas, I... I wasn't expecting to see you here," she managed to say, still surprised.
"I know, it was a coincidence to find you," Lucas replied. "But since we're here, how about we grab a coffee and catch up?"
Laura hesitated for a moment. She knew she needed to pick up her son, but Lucas's offer was tempting. It had been so long since she had spoken with someone from her past, someone close to Luke.
"Okay," she finally agreed. "But I can only stay for a bit. I need to pick up my son from daycare."
"Don't worry, I won't take much of your time," Lucas assured her with a smile.
Laura quickly called the daycare to let them know she would be a little late. Then, she got into Lucas's car, unaware that this casual encounter was about to trigger a series of events.
At the café, Laura and Lucas sat at a secluded table, with steaming cups of coffee in front of them.
"Tell me, Laura, how have you been all this time?" Lucas asked, looking at her with genuine interest.
Laura sighed, stirring her coffee. "It's been tough, I won't lie. Raising a child on my own, away from everything I knew... but I've gotten through it. For my son, for myself."
Lucas nodded, understanding. "You're a strong woman, Laura. You always have been. Luke would be proud of you."
The mention of Luke brought tears to Laura's eyes. "I miss him so much, Lucas. Sometimes I feel like I can't go on without him."
Lucas took her hand across the table, a comforting gesture. "I know it's hard, Laura. But you have to keep going. Luke would have wanted you to be happy."
Laura nodded, wiping away her tears. "I know. And I'm trying, really I am."
"What about Dimitri Petrov?" Lucas asked, his tone turning serious. "I know you married him after Luke's death."
Laura tensed, pulling her hand away. "That was a mistake, Lucas. A terrible mistake," she said, not wanting to delve into the details of what had happened.
Lucas furrowed his brow, "Did he hurt you, Laura? Because if he did, I..." he said, even though he knew he couldn't do anything against Dimitri due to the power he wielded.
"No, not physically," Laura interrupted. "But he made me believe that I was responsible for Luke's death. He blamed me, manipulated me... until I couldn't take it anymore and ran away."
"That bastard," Lucas growled, clenching his fists. "I always knew there was something dark about him. Something dangerous."
Laura looked at him, surprised. "What do you mean?"
Lucas sighed, running a hand through his hair. "There are things you don't know, Laura. Things about Dimitri, about his past. Things that Luke discovered before he died," he lied blatantly.
Laura felt her heart race. "What things, Lucas? Please, I need to know."
Lucas looked around, making sure no one would overhear them. Then, he leaned forward and lowered his voice.
"Dimitri isn't who he claims to be, Laura. He's a member of the Russian mafia."
Laura brought a hand to her mouth, stifling a scream. "What? Are you sure?"
Lucas nodded grimly. "Luke found out just before marrying you. He was going to expose him, to turn him over to the authorities. But then..."
"Then they killed him," Laura finished, feeling the air escape her lungs.
"I can't prove it, but I'm sure Dimitri was behind it," continued Lucas. "He and his family have the power and resources to make anyone who stands in their way disappear."
Laura felt the world spinning around her. All this time, she had been married to a mobster, the possible murderer of her beloved Luke.
"Oh my God, Lucas, what am I going to do now?" she asked, desperate.
Lucas took her hands, looking her straight in the eyes.
"Listen to me, Laura. You have to be strong. You have to protect yourself and your son. I'll help you in whatever way I can, but you have to promise me you won't do anything reckless."
Laura nodded, trying to control the tremor in her body. "I promise, Lucas. I'll be careful," unaware that Lucas had successfully wrapped her in his lies.
They sat in silence for a moment, each lost in their thoughts. Then, Laura looked at her watch and gasped.
"God, look at the time. I have to pick up my son," she said, standing up.
Lucas nodded, leaving some bills on the table. "I'll drive you. You can't walk alone out there, not now that you know the truth about Dimitri."
Laura accepted, grateful for Lucas's support. As they headed to the daycare, she felt a new weight settle on her shoulders.
Now she not only had to fight to get ahead for her son, but also to protect him from the dark truth surrounding Dimitri Petrov.
