Chapter 66

I shrugged and flashed a smile.

Taylor played crane, lowering spider silk to place the cloth on the rock platform.

Right then, the platform, under Jack's superpower, started to rise slowly and soon reached the same level as the thieves from last night. Over fifty thieves widened their eyes, staring at their loved ones on the platform. They couldn't believe it and started shouting in desperation.

I crossed my arms, feeling nothing but a bit of amusement. It was kinda amusing to watch these thieves freak out, especially when I saw their faces at the stuff their family brought to Tortoise City. I bet regret was eating them alive.

The guards were in charge of releasing the thieves, with Margaret keeping an eye on things and Mary standing guard. No issues there.

I headed back to the inner city and went to the office, telling Grace to bring up the crystals, which were piled up like small mountains.

I reached out and touched the crystals, silently chanting in my mind, 'Transform!'

In an instant, the crystals vanished.

Even though Grace had seen this a bunch of times, she still exclaimed, "So many at once?"

Ellie stared at the now-empty desk, asking, "Where did those crystals go?"

Selena whispered, "One of Mr. Steele's superpowers is turning Beast Crystals into energy, which can be used to evolve beasts."

"My goodness, really?" Ellie was shocked.

Selena sighed, saying calmly, "This is probably the most powerful superpower I've ever seen!"

At that moment, I was focused on converting cosmic energy. Soon, my brain got a prompt, 'Conversion successful, obtained Evolution Points, 1,185,000.'

'Nice haul!' I thought. 1,185,000 cosmic energy was enough to evolve a beast to Level 7, several beasts to Level 6, or multiple beasts to Level 5.

Suppressing my excitement, I asked Selena to bring all the animals we had.

"All the live animals?" I asked.

"Yes!" Selena replied.

Soon, the office turned into a zoo, with a sheep staring blankly at me, snakes wriggling in bags, and some other poultry.

I frowned slightly; there weren't many animals to choose from for evolution. I couldn't possibly evolve a rooster! So I turned my gaze to the dumbfounded sheep.

'Evolve the sheep to Level 5.' I thought, placing my hand on the sheep's head. A series of numbers flashed through my mind.

'Detecting Level 0 life form sheep, initiating evolution... Consuming 10 Taming Points, evolution successful. Evolved from Level 1 to Level 5, consuming Evolution Points, 11,110. Hellish Demon sheep evolution complete! Copying Hellish Demon sheep's enhanced attributes, copying Hellish Demon sheep's talent, copying complete. Gaining, Heavy Impact...'

I quietly felt the changes brought by the system. At that moment, the sheep broke free from my hand. It had grown taller than me, about 10 feet long, with black wool making it look more majestic. The most striking were its two horn-like spikes, shimmering like metal, resembling two spears. Even more shocking was its eyes turning blood-red, along with a third eye appearing.

I frowned; the Hellish Demon sheep looked kinda grotesque, but those horns were seriously intimidating. Even the reflected light, when it hit my eyes, felt like a sharp sting.'Activate the talent!' I suddenly commanded the Hellish Demon sheep with my mind.

The sheep instantly sensed my command and burst out with terrifying jumping power. Like a black blur, it leaped up to the ceiling. In an instant, the ceiling was pierced, with stone debris scattering everywhere.

I was stunned. This office was my pride and joy, built to highlight my status. The entire place was carved out of stone, with walls about 3 feet thick. For the sheep to pierce through such thick stone so easily was beyond my expectations.

After landing, the sheep launched a second and third attack. It seemed to be having a blast, bouncing around the room like a spring-loaded toy.

"Alright, stop!" I shouted, watching the chaos unfold. I really wanted to kick this sheep.

But the sheep seemed unable to stop, so I quickly used spider silk to tie it up.

Suddenly, the Hellish Demon sheep let out a cry, its black wool puffing up into a ball and bursting with powerful force. After a loud noise, it broke free from the spider silk, jumped up, and hit the ceiling again. This time with much greater force, my office collapsed.

I was shocked! The women in the house were also shocked!

With a loud noise, I urgently activated Jack's superpower, changing the terrain. Immediately, five stone pillars appeared to support the house, saving us from being crushed.

Looking at the sheep still bouncing back and forth, I felt my face twitched.

The Hellish Demon sheep's superpower was indeed strange. It seemed that after being activated, it would randomly collide for a long time, and it was incredibly powerful. 'Is this the spring-like superpower?' I thought to myself.

Grace tilted her head, brushing off the stone chips from her hair, and asked me, "Mr. Steele, can this sheep be eaten?"

The other girls were also looking at me, seemingly waiting for me to pass the death sentence on this 'troublemaker.'

At this moment, the Hellish Demon sheep had calmed down, lying pitifully on the ground, staring at me with those three watery eyes.

I sighed. I had spent so many crystals to evolve it; how could I possibly eat it? "Grace, don't worry, I will shave off the wool to make clothes for you. This sheep is so thin, there isn't much meat. Let's just forget about it," I said.

"Okay! I will personally shave the wool." Grace glared at the Hellish Demon sheep, then her gaze turned to the messy furniture on the floor, sighing in distress, "Looks like I have to clean up again."

"The power of evolution is truly amazing, unbelievable!" Ellie stared at the Hellish Demon sheep, amazed at its transformation.

The sheep, originally just over 3 feet tall, had now grown to nearly 7 feet tall, with a drastic change in size. Most surprisingly, a sheep that was originally considered as food seemed to possess some unique superpower, which was unimaginable.

I looked down and discovered that the Hellish Demon sheep was actually a female sheep, with a row of teats under its body.

"This sheep is quite good, maybe we can try its milk." A hint of interest flashed in my eyes. The Hellish Demon sheep could also be used as a mount, raising it for milk production in normal times, collecting wool, and using it as a mount when traveling. The soft wool was much more comfortable than riding a lizard.

At this moment, Selena grabbed a handful of wool, exclaiming in amazement, "This wool, if woven into clothes, would probably be an excellent protective material, effective in resisting impact!"

"So the Hellish Demon sheep is so good, I will definitely take good care of it," Grace said, her voice clear and determined.

I suddenly thought of something and activated telepathy to communicate with the Hellish Demon sheep. 'Without my permission, you are not allowed to eat anything randomly.' I always felt that this sheep looked a bit foolish, and I was afraid it would barge into the plantation and mess up the plants.

The Hellish Demon sheep let out a pitiful cry, seeming a bit dissatisfied, but obediently left the hall.

The commotion had attracted the guards of Tortoise City. Michael thought the inner city was under attack. When he and his men rushed over, I had already used my superpower to repair the house.

"You all go about your business, we are just conducting experiments here," I ordered lightly, and the guards dispersed. I thought it was not bad; these soldiers reacted very quickly.

Although the office was a mess, the other animals were not crushed by the collapsed roof. I turned my gaze to the white snake on the side. "Selena, give me the snake," I whispered, with some anticipation.

Now that I had the ability of Heavy Impact, my defense had been significantly enhanced. What I was looking forward to was the surprise the little white snake might bring me in terms of superpowers, like being able to shoot laser cannons like the super firefly.

"Here." Selena took out a small snake from the bag and handed it to me.

I held the snake gently. A voice echoed in my mind, 'Detecting Level 0 life form, small white snake, do you want to evolve?'

'Start evolution! Evolve to Level 5.' I gave a clear command.

'Deducting 10 cosmic energy, evolution successful. Evolved from Level 1 to Level 5, deducting 11,110 Evolution Points. 'Frozen Demon Serpent' evolution successful. Copying Frozen Demon Serpent's attributes. Copying superpower, Frost Control...'

My body was once again strengthened, but what surprised me even more was the superpower of the small snake! Frost Control!

A chill ran from my spine to my heart, and finally spread throughout my body through the blood vessels. I couldn't help but shiver, then exhaled a breath of white air. I then checked my own attribute panel and found that my superpower had been greatly enhanced.

Me, Strength 585, Speed 585, Endurance 585, Mental power 585 (Normal human attributes are 1). Total lifespan, 3600 years.

I noticed my lifespan. Although I was only 24 years old now, my lifespan was as long as 3600 years. This gave me a subtle feeling, 'Could I really live that long?' It seemed that even the civilizations on Earth rarely had a history of 3600 years.

At this moment, the Frozen Demon Serpent had evolved into a huge python, measuring 26 feet long, completely white, with scales that were as translucent as crystal, and with patterns resembling a skull. Its cold breath quickly spread, and the temperature around dropped instantly.

"Is this the same snake from earlier? It's so amazing!" Ellie once again widened her eyes, unable to close her mouth in astonishment.

"Not exaggerated at all," Selena calmly responded, with a hint of reminiscence in her eyes, as if recalling the shocking scene when Jack evolved. That was truly exaggerated.

"What?" Ellie could hardly believe everything in front of her. From a small snake, it had turned into this giant python in a short time, a change that was almost beyond comprehension. If Benjamin, the snake seller, saw this scene, he would probably think he was dreaming.

"This is Tortoise City, Mr. Steele's territory. You'll understand later," Selena said with a mysterious smile.

Ellie gritted her teeth in frustration, looking like she wanted to bite Selena's neck. "Selena, you never explain things clearly to me! I can't stand it anymore!" she said, clearly anxious.

I looked at the Frozen Demon Serpent crawling slowly on the ground, a hint of anticipation in my eyes. "This snake might be able to serve as a refrigerator, so we never have to worry about food spoilage again," I said.

I was thinking about whether to build a separate house for this snake to live in. With the 'Frost Control' superpower, maybe I could create a cold storage warehouse, which would allow Tortoise City to store more food. We wouldn't have to dry meat anymore; fresh meat was much better than jerky. Also, with sheep's milk and freezing superpowers, maybe I could make ice cream.

While I was pondering the uses of the Frozen Demon Serpent, Grace couldn't help but exclaim, "It's getting colder here." She rubbed her arms.

"It looks like I need to find a place for it," I said, stroking my chin. If I kept the snake in the inner city, it would turn into an ice mountain.

"How about the back mountain of Tortoise City?" Selena suddenly suggested.

"The back mountain?" I remembered the newly built artificial mountain, which was planned to be turned into a park. After all, to meet the residents' recreational needs, we couldn't have couples risking their lives to leave Tortoise City for a date.

The environment of the back mountain was very good. Residents could see the 'Sacred Tree' just by looking up, and they could even camp there. It was a love-making sanctuary I had built.

"Mr. Steele?" Selena asked again.

"I spaced out. You're right, the back mountain is indeed suitable for it to reside. We can dig a cold storage there and let it guard the area," I said, coming to my senses.

As soon as I finished speaking, Grace raised her hand and jumped up. "Can we take this big snake out first?" she asked, showing a hint of worry.

The huge body of the Frozen Demon Serpent was winding on the ground. Wherever it passed, frost covered the ground, and the temperature dropped rapidly.

"Can't this snake control the release of cold air?" Selena complained, rubbing her arms.

After a moment of contemplation, I closed my eyes and communicated with the small snake using telepathy.

The snake stuck out its tongue.

"Well, it says it can't control it. This coldness is its natural body temperature," I said, shaking my head helplessly.

"My goodness, this snake can create freezing without even releasing its superpower?" Ellie said, looking even more astonished.

"Mr. Steele, tell this snake to leave..." Grace looked at me pitifully.

"Alright." I watched as the stones around began to freeze and decided to take the snake away first. Leaving the office, I led it to the back mountain.

On the way, the snake looked at me with a look of grievance, as if thinking those girls didn't like it.

I said to the snake, 'Don't be sad. They just hate the cold. You don't need to care about their opinions. Actually, they wanted to eat you at first.'

Hearing my words, the snake immediately straightened up, as if I had removed its psychological barrier.
