Chapter 92

When Monroe heard everyone talking, she looked even more clueless, but she probably had some ideas about that Serpent Lord by now.

Seeing Iris get all serious, Monroe quickly straightened up.

"First off, about Lord Dragon, he's from this super powerful group called the Creators. They're way out of your league right now, and they're the ones who caused Earth's doomsday. The Serpent Lord who saved you? Yeah, he's part of that group too. Just because he wants to kill Lord Dragon doesn't mean he's betraying the Creators. The twelve Lords of the Creators have all sorts of beef with each other, and they fight a lot."

"So, you really need to think this through. I'm not gonna rush you into deciding anything right now. But about the Serpent Lord, I hope you'll reconsider and get a clear picture in your head."

After Iris finished talking, she didn't stick around. She headed straight to the nearby table.

She made herself a cup of coffee and brought one for Monroe too.

Hearing Iris spill the beans, Monroe's head was spinning.

The mysterious person who saved her from the God of Death was actually a devil!

Creating a doomsday world, causing the deaths of thousands of innocent people.

Yep, this was definitely a deal with the devil.

"I..."

Monroe opened her mouth, wanting to say something.

But her brain was all jumbled, and she couldn't get the words out.

Richardson shook his head, smiling, and said, "We get it. You don't need to decide about the Serpent Lord right now. For now, just stick with Iris and check out the Creators organization. When you figure it out, let us know."

Like Iris, Richardson wasn't in a rush for Monroe to make a decision.

This must've been a huge shock for her.

The person who saved her life turned out to be the one who caused doomsday.

Accepting that kind of twist must be really tough for Monroe.

Even if she could accept it, making a choice right away wouldn't be easy.

"Thanks, but I need to think it over. I should probably get going."

Monroe, losing her innocent smile, stiffly thanked them, then awkwardly turned around and went back to the eighth floor alone.

Watching her leave, Iris, who had just made coffee, sighed and followed her.

"She's so pitiful," Anna said, holding Helen, with some sympathy.

She could totally get how Monroe was feeling.

If someone told Anna, after being saved by Richardson, that Richardson was actually a terrible villain, she'd be just as confused.

But Richardson saved her life! Even if he was a villain, to Anna, Richardson was a good person!

Making her choose right away would be super hard.

"Sometimes, living in the apocalypse is both lucky and unlucky," Jasmine, who rarely spoke, summed it up pretty well.

Everyone sighed together, and then Richardson seemed to remember something and suddenly looked out the window.

"Putting Monroe's situation aside, we're not doing great either. The Red Cloak zombies are manageable; as long as we don't mess with them, they won't leave the school area to come after us. But Amon is still alive, and other followers of the Lords have shown up in Tower City. Their main target is probably the Little Black Dragon, which puts us in serious danger."Talking about the team's current situation, Richardson felt a headache coming on.

Even though everyone was busting their butts, spending hours every day out there gaining experience and killing zombies to level up, the followers of those Lords were still way too strong.

They'd been practicing magic for years, something Richardson's team, who'd only been through a few months of post-apocalyptic battles, just couldn't catch up to.

The gap in strength was a hard pill to swallow.

"I actually think we should move somewhere else. Tower City is totally on the Lords' radar now, and it's getting pretty dangerous for us to stay here," Karen suggested.

They'd talked about this before, but since the Creators had the tech to monitor Earth with satellites, they had plenty of ways to track down Richardson's team.

Especially Lord Dragon, who'd paid a huge price for the birth of the Dragon Clan. No way he'd let Richardson's team go.

"Whether we leave or not, the outcome probably won't change. Honestly, I think the zombies are evolving too fast. Maybe we should take some risks, ditch the idea of safely killing zombies, and go after five-time mutants or even stronger ones. That way, everyone's combat power should get a big boost," Jasmine said.

She was all about direct combat and didn't agree with leaving. She wanted to find powerful zombies to kill for better rewards.

"Six-time mutant zombies are tough; their defense is beyond what we can handle right now. But five-time mutants might be doable. If we manage to kill two, I can quickly complete my fifth evolution, and the rest of you should be close to your fourth. I think Jasmine's idea is worth a shot," Richardson said after thinking it over.

Anna shook her head but didn't say anything.

Helen, acting as Anna's spokesperson, said, "Five-time mutant zombies should be manageable. When we dealt with the Dragon Lure Grass, we gained experience fighting fifth-tier opponents. As long as Karen can forge some armor, the master can face them with minimal risk. Plus, all of you should be close to evolving; the energy you've accumulated should be nearing a critical point. I agree with Jasmine; let's find some powerful zombies and take a chance. If we succeed, our combat power will skyrocket. If we fail, we can always retreat."

After hearing Helen's analysis, Lily smiled and nodded. She couldn't fully unleash her strength against zombies, but if she could gain a stronger ability in the fourth evolution, she'd have the confidence to take down a fifth-tier Sorcerer.

"Alright, let's go with your plan. Let's go kill some five-time mutant zombies!" Karen, who was ultimately warlike, had only suggested moving because she was worried about the Little Black Dragon before. Now, hearing everyone agree to fight stronger opponents, Karen licked her lips excitedly.

The Little Black Dragon, not quite understanding what everyone was saying but catching the vibe, let out a grumpy roar.

It wanted to fight zombies and have some fun too.

"You, you're quite eager for a fight," Richardson said, patting the Little Black Dragon's head. Seeing that everyone was on board, he made a decision. "Let's rest for an hour and let Monroe calm down. Then we all move out, making sure the followers of the Creators don't catch us off guard. Our goal is to find fifth-tier zombies so everyone can evolve!"

Avery High School.

From the sewer to the ground.

On the playground, Amon was facing the followers of Lord Ox and Lord Horse alone.

The Red Cloak zombie was keeping an eye on the followers of Lord Sheep and Dognose.

This six-time mutant zombie and Amon, a sixth-tier Sorcerer, seemed to have found a comfortable way to battle.

There were even signs of cooperation between them.

"Damn it, Sheep Horn, does this zombie have intelligence? Why does it keep targeting the two of us?" Dognose complained, repeatedly attacked by the zombie. As a fifth-tier Sorcerer, he was clearly struggling.

Many times he was almost hit in a vital spot by the zombie.

"It's not intelligence; it's fighting instinct! It knows that killing Amon is not easy, and besides, the four of us are a team. So, its best choice is to temporarily cooperate with Amon's little dragon. After killing us, they can then fight to the death!" the follower of Lord Sheep cursed inwardly.

This situation had little to do with the zombie's intelligence level; it was purely its fighting instinct.

But what he couldn't understand was, they had almost surrounded and caught Amon just now, so how did this zombie suddenly appear?

"Bullhead, get ready to retreat!" the follower with the horse-faced mask said, hit in the chest by Amon's fist. As he spat out blood, he started to think about retreating.

Among them, only Bullhead was a sixth-tier Sorcerer.

But he was clearly not as powerful as Amon, and even with the follower of Lord Horse, they could only barely hold their ground.

Now, the sudden appearance of a sixth-tier zombie completely disrupted their plans.

"Where did this damn thing come from? Amon, did you sell out your allies? Why else would this zombie help you?" Bullhead kept insulting.

Upon hearing this, Amon immediately gave up chasing the follower of Lord Horse and charged towards Bullhead.

With brass knuckles in hand, he viciously smashed them towards Bullhead's head!

"Retreat! Stop fighting!" Seeing Bullhead divert Amon's attention, the follower of Lord Horse instantly understood his signal.

He signaled the other two companions to retreat, and the three of them quickly regrouped.

Then, ignoring the zombie, they charged straight towards Amon.

In this chaotic battle, simply walking away was not realistic.

Because both Amon and the six-time mutant Red Cloak zombie had the strength to single-handedly take down any one of the four.

Retreating recklessly would likely result in being picked off one by one.

So they could only regroup first, then take the opportunity to run away when Amon and the Red Cloak zombie were momentarily wary.

As for how Amon and the Red Cloak zombie would confront each other afterwards, that was no longer their concern.

"Thinking of leaving, did I allow it?"Seeing the four regrouping and another Red Cloak zombie chasing Dognose, Amon quickly realized they were trying to escape.

But if he kept charging, he might end up surrounded by the four of them.

So, after thinking it over for a few seconds, Amon just made a fierce remark but didn't take any specific action.

He quickly left the battle area, avoiding the Red Cloak zombie.

From the looks of it, he wanted to retreat too.

Just as the battle was heating up, they suddenly found their prey gathering together, and another powerful prey was about to escape.

The Red Cloak zombie was not happy!

But there was nothing it could do.

It didn't dare to keep chasing.

With the four of them regrouped, their combat power was already a threat.

Amon had already retreated faster, and the Red Cloak zombie couldn't catch up.

In the end, it could only roar fiercely, then head back to the teaching building.

An abrupt but dangerous battle ended somewhat dramatically.

"Ms. Jones, I've noticed more Creators' personnel heading to Earth recently. It seems they've located the Dragon Clan that Lord Dragon has been after. What do you think—should we get involved?" Little Fruit asked, not sure if he was a pomegranate or a banana today, but looking relatively normal.

"No need. Although opposing the Creators is our principle, believe me, this time their trip to Earth won't go smoothly," Cathy said with a mysterious smile, full of confidence.

Passing by, the Red Queen overheard their conversation, stopped, and curiously asked, "Cathy, have you seen something interesting again? Never mind, it's better not to say. You know it yourself."

Thinking that prophets usually have taboos and not wanting to easily reveal what they see in the future, the Red Queen respected Cathy's choice not to ask further.

Although curious, she clearly respected Cathy's emotions more.

"If I were to explain this, it would take a lot of time. So let's keep it confidential. Once Iris returns, you'll know. But this time, Lord Dragon has sent out his strongest followers. Red Queen, if you have time, come find me with Black King; we can achieve something incredible together" Cathy said, never one to be content with the status quo.

Her ambition was quite large!

"Lord Dragon?" Little Fruit excitedly slapped his thigh upon hearing Cathy's words.

"Cathy, are you sure? If we can take down a Lord, then our organization's position in the Battlefield World won't be embarrassing anymore!"

Glancing at Little Fruit, Cathy raised her index finger, signaling him to lower his voice. "Stop shouting; don't act like you've never seen such things before."

"Not one, but two. If everything goes as expected, in the next month, the Creators organization will be down to just ten Lords. Iris will also complete the mission perfectly and return triumphantly. Forget about Earth for now. Red Queen, what do you think about this big deal? Shall we proceed?"

As Cathy was speaking, she suddenly noticed that the Red Queen beside her had disappeared.

Turning around, she found her operating the console, issuing an emergency recall order to all organization members except Iris!

[Emergency! Please return quickly; Sage take action; all members attack!]
