Laura’s class teacher calls and says a certain Miss Cara is here to pick Laura . I am so glad Cara and Laura love each other and connect so well.
“Thank you Mrs Stacy , I asked her to help me pick up my little Princess , I have very pressing issues to attend to.” I say.
“Ohhh Mr Johnson , Laura was extremely happy to see Miss Cara, she ran towards her when she heard someone call her name , she looked up and saw Miss Cara , I’ve not seen Laura that Happy in a long time , she hugged her so tightly then hurriedly started packing her bag-pack . I had to stop her to reconfirm first before letting her go with Miss Cara even though she already filled the pick up information booklet .”
“Thanks a whole lot Mrs Stacy , I will ask Laura to bring you something in appreciation, Thank you again for looking out for my Little princess.”
I drop the call and FaceTime Cara . She picks the video call and I see the two most important people In my world so glad to see me .
“Hey Liam, Hey Daidi.” Cara and Laura say simultaneously. Cara’s smile is absolutely beautiful and heavenly. I can see Laura’s little arms wraps around Cara’s neck like she does with me when I carry her.
“Thank you papa for letting Mom pick me up from school, Donald made fun of me that my mom has never come to pick me up from school before. I showed him my mom today.”
I can literally see Cara’s eyes almost falling out from the socket when she heard Laura refer to her as Mom. She was not expecting that at all and I did not want to scare her with this Laura’s request to refer to her as mom.
“Daddy’s baby , my beautiful princess , please pay no attention to Donald . Cara’s taking you out to get Ice creams , tacos and cotton candy stick , she will also stop by at the park in the estate so you both can have fun, are you happy baby?”
“Yes Daidi I’m very excited.” Laura responds .
“Okay my baby , go have so much fun.” I turn to Cara, “please watch Laura closely, she has been playing rough these days . Have fun Cee , I say and drop the call. I get dressed and grab my car keys . I head to the shopping mall at the entrance of the estate . I want to get Cara a bouquet of flowers, some chocolates , a gown for the occasion and a pair of heels for the occasion. Cara doesn’t have the slightest clue that I intend to take her out to dinner and ask her to be my girlfriend. I can’t wait , I’m so glad , after so long. I hum as I drive into the parking lot of the shopping mall. I get a perfect parking space to park and head into the shopping mall . I buy everything I need , walk back to my car and head home. I am deeply anticipating how this whole dinner date thing would go . I hope things go exactly how I want it to. I call Cara to check in if they are both doing fine .
“Hi Princess , how are you and hope you had a nice time out with your Aunt Cara?”
“Hi Daidi, I’m great . Aunt Cara is so much fun to be with.” She says and runs back to the slide to play with her friends.
“Liam , are we going to ignore the fact that Laura has been calling me mom. Aren’t you going to correct her?”
“To be honest , Laura has been pressing to call you mom for a while now.” I finally open up to Cara.
“Really?”
“Yes. Aren’t you happy about it?”
“I don’t know what to think. We are not even in a relationship to start with. I don’t want us to get her hopes up and then crash it if we are going no where.”
“Laura you know how I feel about you. We aren’t going to dash her hopes, trust me. She loves you and so does my mum. Sometimes I wonder if I’m her child or you are.”
“Are you jealous?”
“Definitely not.”
“How’s your dad? I’ve not seen him come around the house.”
“That’s because he’s never home. He’s always travelling for one business or the other. I feel for mom.” I say really worried
“He’s chasing the bag.” She jokes to lighten up my mood.
“It doesn’t always have to be about money. He had a family first before the money even came along beside we have a lot of it now so he should learn to take breaks. Thank you very much for helping me take care of Laura.”
It’s my pleasure.” She responds.
I drop the call and put a call through to the manager of the restaurant to make reservations for my date with Cara this night . Gladly he reserves my favorite table and spot for me . My evening is certainly going well. I drive out into the estate to get my hair cut and properly shaped. Once I’m done, I head back home . My phone starts vibrating so I check to see who’s calling.
“ Laura and I are home and the door is locked. I hope you wouldn’t mind me taking her to my place?”
“ In as much as I love the idea, I’m right in front of the house.”
They both watch me drive into the compound almost immediately I drop the call . My little princess starts jumping as she’s superbly excited to see me. I come down from the car and she runs towards me and stretches out her hands to show that she wants me to carry her . I scoop her , grab Cara by her hand and head towards the door. I open the door and we all walk it together. In that moment, Laura runs up the stairs and it’s left with Cara and I at the parlor downstairs.
“Cara , I would love us to go on a dinner date , just the two of us, I made reservations already for tonight. What do you think?” She was quiet for a while,
“Of course I love the idea, I will get some rest and prepare for our dinner date , Liam you’re certainly the sweetest” she adds smiling. I feel so relieved and very glad. I walk upstairs to pick one of my best outfits for this special occasion. I can’t wait to call Cara mine after several years of losing her and feeling like my whole world crumbled before I met Flora.
