Chapter 61 - Rejecting A Wolf
"Argh!" Jace thrashed around as pain overwhelmed him it had been about five minutes since the pain overwhelmed him. The transformation has begun. And unlike a werewolf's first and last shift, this shift was scheduled to last three days.
However, if he could change within a few hours, then he would be incredibly strong as a lycan. Almost as strong as his maker, Aurora.
Aurora sat on the stone bed, silently watching him thrash around in pain. There was nothing she could do for him presently.
So with that thought, she stood up and glanced at him with a reluctant expression.
"I wish there was more I could do for you, but already fed you a lot of my blood. So finish your shift as fast as possible."
After telling him that, she walked out of the bedroom and to the entrance of the cave in her naked glory. The sun had set. Which was surprising for Aurora, that would mean Jace held back his shift for hours just to fuck her.
She could help but marvel at how one-tracked mind he was to focus on his dick while changing.
No, that didn't seem right. He suppressed his shift for so long. How was that possible? Frowning, she turned ready to go back inside and look at him, but as she turned, she bumped into his sturdy chest.
"Ah," She let out a gasp while his arms went around her waist. "Holy shit that was fast!"
Aurora looked up, and her eyes met his. Somehow, he felt taller and more muscular. She couldn't help but pinch his biceps.
"Did you grow? or did you shift?" One can't blame her for asking this. In all her years alive, she never turned anyone into a lycan. Back then, there wasn't a need because they were already lycans.
Jace didn't answer. Instead, he bent and took his buttcheek in his hands before lifting her into his embrace.
"I want to do it in lycan form," Jace told her as he stared deep into her eyes.
"But you just finished shift, shouldn't you rest?" she couldn't help but ask.
"This is resting." He chuckled and walked out of the cave with her in his arms.
"How is sex resting?" Aurora scoffed but didn't resist him. Instead, she hugged his head, bringing her breast to his face.
"I want to mark you." his warm breath sprayed on her breast, making her shudder. Or maybe it was his words.
"That's your first task as a Lycan? Marking?"Aurora chuckled before shifting into a fly and getting out of his hold and reappearing in human form. "Don't you know the more powerful lycan is the one who marks. It is I, who will mark you."
Aurora smugly educated him kindly, Jace just stood there silently before a smile crept onto his lips.
"Who says I'm weaker?" He took a step forward, and Aurora rolled her eyes.
"You're not stronger than me. Equally strong may be possible, but stronger is impossible." She shook her head as she answered.
"Enough of this talking, my love. Let's just shift. Then we will know who is stronger than who." Jace cracked his neck to the side and began shifting.
Aurora blinked once, and there he was towering over in lycan form. Her eyes glide over his form and stop at a certain spot. Her lips curled at the sight.
"You're equally as strong as I am," Aurora told him. " Let's mark each other then."
With that being said she shifted into her lycan form. His towering frame was no longer towering over her as she stood shoulder to shoulder with him.
Jace stepped towards her nuzzling her neck as soon as he reached closer enough. Aurora did the same and they moved in sync.
Spreading their jaws and sinking their teeth into each other's skin. A rush of heat spread throughout their bodies.
A heat like no other, a heat that can only be cooled by sex. With a slight push, Aurora allowed herself to be pressed down by Jace.
After he pressed her down, the monstrous thing between his legs naturally entered her already slick hole.
And at their climax, Jace and Aurora were fully marked. Not even death would separate the bond. Shifting back to human form, Jace kissed Aurora's forehead and carried her exhausted self back to the cave to lie down.
Holding each other, they both fell asleep.
Tom went back in disarray. The strange feeling he got from those people, especially the woman, puzzled him.
His heart ached, looking at her. It felt like she was someone familiar, someone he longed to see again.
When he went back, everyone saw how bad his expression was and wanted to ask him what was wrong. Tom dodged all their questions and locked himself in his room.
Lying on his bed, Tom covered his eyes with his arm and let out a turbulent breath. He was troubled by that strange pair. They honestly shook him to his core.
Five years since Jace and Aurora died. The mess that ensued after that divided the werewolf race into three.
Those who wanted to fight against the council, those who stayed neutral, and the council's supporters.
After five years of struggling against the odds, their side that fought against the council grows weaker every day.
It's to the point where the only safe haven they have is here, and with the attacks on them, their forces grow weaker every day.
The council had them trapped like rats in a cage and was whittling away their spirits day by day.
It wouldn't be long til their resistance is completely voided. But those two he saw at Aurora and Jace's grave, they shook him.
Even as their impending doom was drawing closer, he never felt this way, but seeing those two, especially that silver-haired woman. Could it be that his nerves were so high-strung that he was tense like this?
"Ah, let's just forget it. Tomorrow is another day. " Tom sighed, his tense body relaxed, and for the first time in three days, he fell asleep.
Jace woke up alone on the stone bed. With a sigh, he got off and went to find Aurora. He didn't have to look much because she was at the front of the cave opening and watching the rain fall.
She felt his presence and turned to face him, her face downcast. Jace's heart tightened as he got closer to her, he asked.
"Are you okay?" Softly, he caressed her cheek.
"Feels unreal. Is this really okay? Are we truly free?" Jace could hear the unease in her voice. "I'm so happy, I feel like this happiness will be ripped away from me."
Jace moved and wrapped his arms around her naked body. Kissing the side of her neck where he marked her before nuzzling it gently.
"Put away your unease, my beloved. He will not go back on his word. We are free." He mumbled onto her skin. "Let's try to focus on this life. Live as long as we can. Enjoy the things we never could, and just be happy."
"We have to fix the mess we caused." Aurora reminded him, and Jace sighed.
"Yes, the werewolves are like this because of us. This isn't going to be easy." After he said that, they both fell silent.
It wasn't until he felt her warm tears fall onto his cheek that he moved away from her neck.
"What's wrong, Rory?" Jace held her face in his hands, frowning his brows in concern.
"You must think I'm inconsistent. One minute, I'm fine. The next I'm a complete mess." She mumbled.
"Aurora, I never thought one conversation about the past could heal our wounds. We suffered for centuries, for lifetimes. And I feel like this could be ripped away from us, too. " He paused before letting out a sigh and securing her in his arms. "Our trauma, it may never actually heal. But these things take time. Let's focus on one thing at a time, okay?"
"Okay," She mumbled into his chest. They can never be their past self again. Trauma has its way of reshaping people and their souls.
Even if they took the names of their most recent incarnations, they could never be that Aurora and Jace.
The only thing they can do is be authentic. They have to relearn how to be true to themselves and hopefully become new people in the process.
Luckily, they didn't have to go through this painful reshaping by themselves. They had each other, and that was better than anything.
