Chapter 38 Sabotage

Chapter 38 Sabotage

"No problem." Flora agreed readily. However, she also made a request: the expert responsible for authentication must be invited by Isabella.

At these words, a flash of panic crossed Vivian's eyes.

She had indeed spent a fortune on this jewelry, hoping to receive praise at the charity gala, but with Flora stirring things up like this, she was now starting to doubt whether she had actually bought a fake.

Vivian's mind raced, suddenly recalling the incident at the mall when Flora authenticated a painting some time ago.

Could she actually know something about authentication? Was today just pure luck that she happened to be right?

Regardless of whether the item was real or fake, if it was publicly authenticated as a counterfeit, would anyone respect her afterward?

She refused to bow down and apologize to this bitch!

"Fine." After a few seconds of thought, Vivian immediately decided to muddy the waters even more. "But Flora, why should everything be as you say?"

Seeing her suddenly change the subject, Flora was puzzled: "What do you mean?"

At this, Vivian's eyelashes trembled violently. She clutched her dress tightly and asked indignantly: "I'm clearly the biological daughter of the Smith family. I'm the one who considered your situation and repeatedly offered to let you stay with the Smith family. You're the one who refused me again and again, clearly stating you wanted to cut ties with the Smith family. So why do you keep claiming to be part of the Smith family in public, constantly targeting and making things difficult for me?"

She let go of Isabella's hand and stepped forward, her gaze burning: "Is it because I discovered the secret behind your current wealthy lifestyle - that you found yourself a sugar daddy?"

The guests present were all shocked.

"No wonder! That explains everything!"

"Flora is so greedy, and now she's pushed an honest person to the breaking point."

"What's so surprising? Didn't she come here with Mr. Williams?"

Seeing Vivian about to spread rumors again, Flora skillfully opened her phone's recording function. Not only was she not angry, she actually encouraged her: "Yes, please continue."

When she saw Flora recording, Vivian's palms began to sweat nervously. She instinctively wanted to knock the phone out of her hand, but considering all the people present, making such a move would indirectly prove her guilt.

It's fine, she just wouldn't use declarative sentences - she'd use questions instead. That way, even if it really went to the police, she could argue she was just asking casually, not saying these things were actually true.

"So Flora, tell me, how does someone who was kicked out of her home, penniless, with biological parents who are both from the countryside, have money to buy new clothes and casually go in and out of five-star hotels?"

Flora knew these questions were ridiculous and only meant to attack her. But hearing her ask repeatedly like this, she only felt helpless.

She couldn't tell if she was helpless about Vivian's narrow perspective, or if she truly believed this deep down.

She scratched her brow, "So you're saying that someone who received strict elite training from childhood, won countless awards, always had excellent grades, even trained at companies, and did some business herself - the moment she's kicked out of her home, all her money, skills, and experience are wiped clean, leaving her so poor she can't even produce a single penny, is that it?"

Flora's reasonable and factual attitude made Vivian very uncomfortable. Hearing people already speaking up for her, she could no longer maintain her usual sweet and gentle facade in her embarrassment and anger: "You talk a good game, but why do you keep clinging to Gavin?"

"You were the one who voluntarily broke off the engagement, repeatedly saying I was his fiancée, acting like you wanted to bring us together, but now you keep appearing by his side. Even tonight you came to the party with him." She pressed on: "Are you going to say it's a coincidence? Or that he's just another one of your so-called friends?"

Vivian's eyes were sharp as knives, her tone forceful: "Flora, whether you turned your life around on your own or by depending on men, you know best in your heart!"

Flora had indeed come with Gavin tonight, which everyone had witnessed. With Vivian's words, the crowd's sentiment swung back to her side.

Hearing those presumptuous and filthy speculations, Gavin's lips tightened slightly, and he stepped forward directly: "She did come with me tonight."

"But I invited her as a business partner."

He stood beside Flora, his gaze stern, and the previously restless guests immediately quieted down.

Everyone understood clearly that his action was obviously showing support for Flora.

Seeing this, Vivian glared viciously at Flora, then spoke with barely controlled trembling: "Gavin, don't let her deceive you. Do you know how many men she's been in contact with privately!"

This bitch was so promiscuous, who knows how many sugar daddies she'd changed during this time - why was he still protecting her like this!

She was his fiancée! How could he help an outsider against her!

Gavin's expression turned cold, warning: "Ms. Smith, watch your words."

Vivian was frightened and wanted to back down, but thinking of Flora hiding behind him at this moment, the uncontrollable jealousy and hatred gave birth to tremendous courage, making her continue: "I saw it clearly that day!"

If she hadn't failed to identify the man at the hotel that day, she would have already thrown the evidence in their faces, making them see Flora's ugly true nature!

Thinking of this, Vivian rolled her eyes at Flora, then shifted her gaze to Gavin.

"Gavin, don't you think you're being excessive too?" She bit her lip, her eyes flickering, looking aggrieved as she complained: "You know very well that I'm your real fiancée, but since I returned to the Smith family, you've been cold and indifferent to me. At first, I thought it was because you were naturally aloof and unfamiliar with me, so you kept your distance. That's why I kept approaching you, trying to get close to you and develop feelings with you, but what about you?"

"You've been circling around Flora, accompanying her when nothing's wrong, standing up for her when something happens. Compared to me, you two are more like an engaged couple."

She raised her head slightly, blinking frantically to keep tears from falling. "Your relationship only took off after I came back. How could it not involve Flora's scheming?"

With that, she looked at Flora, her face full of confusion: "You know so many men, and they all like you, so why do you have to compete with me for Gavin?"

"With such loose morals, aren't you afraid you'll end up dying under your favorite man?"

"Slap!"
