Chapter 51 got the approval

Chapter 51 got the approval
Amelia’s P.O.V. (Continued)

“One of our group members was thrown out of his pack when he castrated his rpist. He was minor and his rpist used wolfsbane on him before……before.” I couldn’t speak the next word as my body shuddered in fear on its own.
“Calm down, Amelia.” Arthur whispered to me while holding my hand tightly.
“His pack threw him out of the pack, battered, and on the verge of death. We rescued him and investigated his case. We provided him the medical aid but didn’t make him a part of our group until we got the proper evidence that he isn’t a culprit but a victim. We requested a meeting with the alpha and the beta of that pack and provided them everything that we found on the other person. The victim refused to go back to that pack again, and …. And on his alpha’s request, we took him in.” I explained the whole incident briefly.
“Who is the alpha, Amelia?” King Alexander asked me coldly, suppressing his fury here.
“My apologies, King Alexander, but we signed a contract of secrecy with that alpha.” I replied to him politely, bowing my head in front of him to show my respect towards him.
“I am your king, Amelia.” He growled, clearly angered by my defiance.
“I am your subject, King Alexander, but this is professionalism. How will anyone trust us if we break our contracts just because a superior ordered the details? This is also about the privacy of that pup’s well-being, my king. He has already gone through so much.” I was firm and polite in my voice.
“You are denying an answer to your king, Amelia. You know very well that it can be counted as a capital offense.” Beta Hunter warned me this time, his voice stern and cold.
“I am aware of this, Beta Hunter, but this is not about answering his question. This is about betraying the trust of my client and my partners. How can a person connected to me with a personal or a professional relationship ever trust me if I break the promise made through a contract just because my life is threatened?” I questioned him calmly, keeping my face expressionless.
“I beg your pardon, King Alexander, but what she said is right. Every relationship, whether personal or professional, is based on trust. I am also a client of her company. How will I ever trust her again if she reveals that alpha’s name when she signed a contract with him, promising not to reveal his name ever?” Alpha Gabe questioned in a serious tone.
“My apology for interrupting you, Alpha Gabe, but I want to add something here.” I apologized sincerely; my voice was still calm but filled with seriousness.
“There is also a clause in that contract that if we ever find any other victim from his pack, we will notify both the cases to the royal pack and also to the rest of the world. We are not that influential, but we still have a name in the business world.” I clarified a fact that I believed was important to share.
“How did you know that he didn’t make any wrong decision again?” Beta Hunter asked me again.
“This is not the point to discuss here, Beta Hunter. You can have this conversation later.” Alpha Noel interrupted us in a serious tone.
Everyone agreed with him in a hushed tone.
“Very well. I guess Ms. Locke just answered Alpha Caelum’s doubt and the question raised about their future dealings with the rogues coming to them for a place to live.” Counselor Zane spoke this time, calm and firm in his tone.
“What’s your opinion now, Alpha Caelum?” Counsellor Zane asked Alpha Caelum in the same tone.
Alpha Caelum took a deep breath, but my heart was beating furiously now.
We already had enough votes to get the approval, but I still wanted them to see us in a new light, not with the same glasses of biased opinion.
Once again, there was silence in the room, and it had become more suffocating than it already was.
“Every person, home, society, and pack has their own flaws. Mine is no exception to that. So, I can’t expect perfection from this newly built pack, can I?” Alpha Caelum spoke in a calm and distant tone.
“I took back my previous vote. I vote in favor.” I felt relief wash over me as soon as this statement left his mouth.
His voice sounded like a bell continuously ringing in the church or in a temple, so melodious, so peaceful.
For the rest of the voting time, I didn’t hear a word. They all voted in our favor.
This wasn’t just voting for me and my people.
This was the sign that the people in the pack have started understanding that not every rogue is a criminal. Some, like us, are the victim of circumstances.
The council approved our pack and named it after our security services company’s name – The Night Raven Pack.
Our first victory to get our rightful place in this world. Arthur almost jumped on his seat in excitement, but I held him down.
The council also announced that they will send two council members to the land where we want to build our pack and will help our pack in building it.
We don’t have any objections to this. This will also assure all the packs around us that we aren’t any threat to them.
“Ms. Locke.” I stopped in my tracks when Hunter called me from behind after we left the meeting room. Most of the alphas were still there, discussing a few pack matters with the council and the king.
“Beta Hunter. Thanks for everything.” I thanked him sincerely, bowing in front of him with all my respect for him.
“I did nothing, Amelia. You guys built a reputation and they trusted that reputation. So, it’s all about your efforts.” He replied politely, but it still made me smile widely.
“How is he?” he suddenly asked me in a concerned and low voice. My smile didn’t falter because I knew that he would ask this.
“Thanks to your help, they got something to save him.” I, once again, thanked him with sincere words.
“If….. if you don’t have any problem, can I visit him again?” He asked me in a very low voice, keeping a hint of request in his tone, instead of the dominance of a royal beta.
I smiled and just gave him a curt nod in response as others were approaching us.
“It’s already evening. Would you like to have some tea or coffee before proceeding for the contract signing?” Beta Hunter asked me formally.
“Uhhh… I guess we can have coffee while discussing the contract.” I suggested awkwardly, feeling a bit embarrassed.
After what happened in Alexander’s study, I didn’t want to stay for long here, fearing Alexander will ask me to meet him alone again.
“Good suggestion. Let’s go.” Hunter instructed, but Arthur held my wrist, making me stop before I moved.
