Thirty One

I breathed in fresh air, stepping outside the mansion heading out to the field.

Not that there was anyone around or any training going on, but I had just wanted to see what it was like being on the field all by myself.

I stood for a couple of minutes in silence as the ray of sun shun so bright, touching every part on my skin.

I had my hand to my face shielding my eyes from the sun.

And just when I did, I felt someone coming from behind me.

I felt Alexa sort of getting excited as I wondered who exactly it was coming.

I walked further into the field acting like I didn’t feel whoever it was, as I went on standing all to myself with my arm wrapped around my chest.

And well apparently, my curiosity got the best of me as I turned quickly wanting to strike whoever it was behind me.

“Woah!!” Damon yelled as he ducked.

“Watch it princess!!” he said teasingly.

I felt so embarrassed the minute I was relaxed, seeing how close I was to getting him wounded.

“What are you doing out here all by yourself?” he asked with so much concern in his voice as he spoke.

I had my face to the ground as I felt embarrassed having to be too fast with my actions.

“I’d blame Alexa anyway” I said to myself.

“Just breathe Kathy!” he said smiling to me.

“I asked a question earlier?” he said.

“What are you doing here all by yourself?” he asked.

In time, I was back to myself realizing I actually had no good reason to come out into the field.

I stayed silent for a couple of minutes, short on words to use in describing the main reason I was out.

“I…” I stuttered.

“I don’t even know,” I finally responded.

And just as I did, he walked closer to me making me sort of confused on why he was so close to me.

I took a few steps further away from where he was, the minute I felt weird having him stay too close to me.

“Are you okay?” he asked, looking confused as he walked closer to me.

I tried taking my eyes off, trying to hide the fact that I was sort of bothered over Joanna.

I had drifted off in thoughts standing in fron of Danin that I didn’t realize he had called out to me severally.

“Are you there?” I heard him say right after snapping his fingers in my face.

“Ye..”

“Yes!!” I responded, staring back at him.

“You seemed lost for a couple of seconds,” he said.

“I’m good Alpha Damon” I said looking away.

“Alpha Damon?” he repeated.

“Just Damon,” he said.

I was so close to opening up about Joanna and Henry, but then again we needed more evidence.

“Okay Damon” I said, faking a smile.

“What are you up to?” 

“Why are you here?” he asked.

“Nothing, I just thought of it to be here?” I responded trying not to show how bothered I was at the moment.

As I stood there calm to myself, my mind slowly wandered off to Henry

“Henry might be Damon's second in command but Damon is the leader of the pack,” 

“Getting him to admit to his faults, and most especially in front of Damon” he said.

“Have you got something to say?” he asked staring deeply into my eyes.

I took my eyes off his the minute it all felt akward staring at him.

I couldn’t understand the main reason why Alexa couldn’t contain herself and why she always had my whole body tensed and excited whenever he’s around me.

I clenched my fist, trying to hold her back in from making me howl in front of him.

“Do you care for a walk?” he asked.

I knew apparently this wasn’t going to end up well, but still had to take it all in.

“Sure…” I responded.

“Come with me” he said walking further.

I followed suit from behind with my hands wrapped around the other, as I had my eyes on the wet morning grass.

I couldn’t tell where exactly it was he was taking me, but I could tell Alexa was going to love it.

“Do you always do that?” he asked.

I was confused on what he meant by me doing that.

“Sorry…doing what exactly?” I asked hoping to get a good answer.

“The part where your mind wonders off into space leaving you blank and speechless in front of me” he said smiling.

The minute he said that, I slowly wondered why he suddenly mentioned that.

“What do you mean Alpha…”

“Damon” I asked curiously.

“You seen to get lost on most conversations we have had”

“And so I’m wondering if whether or not you do that all the time” he explained.

“Oh that?” I said.

“I…”

“I normally don’t do that all the time, but I would say my mind is a world of it’s own, a lot goes on in here” I said pointing to my head.

“I see”

“Well, that explains it all then” he said smiling at me.

“I guess, I wouldn’t have to ask about any of that anymore then” he said.

“Yes” I said in a shy manner as I took my eyes off his.

“So how has it been?” he asked.

“You mean around here right?” I asked wanting to know how and what to answer correctly.

“Yes, you are correct” he responded.

And just then, I stayed silent as scenes of every incident that had happened ever since my arrival at the pack resurfaced in my mind.

“I’d say it’s been great having to experience all of what has been happening around here” I said.

The minute I said that, he smiled.

“Made any friends yet?” he asked.

The next minute, thoughts of Joanna came into my head making me realize apparently she was the only friend and lady I have been speaking to recently.

“Yes!” I responded boldly…
