Twenty Five


KATHY

I had my eyes closed as I had the trigger to the signal gun clicked.

And almost immediately, a loud sound causing the whole arena tremble was heard.

I fell off to the ground at the sound as the others stood afar off watching.

But still, Henry was on the run.

I saw him run towards the direction I was like he was more than ready to strike, preventing me from getting in contact with the underneath.

I pulled my whole body from the ground staring at him running towards me from afar off.

I had my hands to the ground with my eyes to the woods, with my eyes fixated to the dark.

I knew I had to start digging up, and knew so well that I just couldn’t do any of that in my human form.

Still staring at the dark, I had decided to shift.

But I was in need of something in my head to trigger Alexa.

I had my eyes closed with my fingers dug into the soil, and all I could think about was Bryson and the rejection.

Perfect…

The minute the whole scenario where he had me thrown out of the mansion played in my head, I could feel Alexa wanting to come out of me.

“Relax!!!” I said as I clenched my fist waiting for the right time to have myself fully transformed.

And the minute I saw him fully running towards me, I felt furs around my whole body as I watched my hands and fingers transformed into paws with claws.

In no time I fully shifted into my wolf form.

I howled into the air calling out to the others remaining as I had my claws ready to dig.

Almost immediately, I had my claws digging into the soil in search of the box.

And just as I did, I felt someone grip me from behind pulling me away.

Henry !!!…

I fell over on my face, turning to the side to find him wanting to attack.

I moved over to the opposite direction, dodging his claws from digging into my flesh.

“That was close” I muttered to myself.

I was up on my paws staring at the spot I was digging a while ago as I wondered why no one else was there to help.

I looked around me and realized I was all alone in the woods and was surprisingly surrounded by the men sent to distract us.

“Surrender girl!!” Henry shot at me as he giggled alongside.

“And why should I?” I voiced out moving away.

“Look around you,” he said.

I took one last glance at the men surrounding me, as I wondered why they all looked like they were more than ready to have me attacked.

I gulped down the lump forming in my throat, as I feared what was about to happen next.

I needed help.

As I stood watching them pile themselves walking towards me, I slowly wondered why it all felt more like the real battle itself.

“Think Kathy”

“Think!!!” I said to myself as I took more steps backwards.

And just as I stood there reminiscing on what to do, an idea popped in my head.

Without wasting much time, I jumped on to the branch in the tree closeby as I escaped.

“Get her!!” I heard Henry yell.

I jumped from one tree to the other in search of a safe spot and a way to get back to the marked spot where they had the individual kept.

“Don’t let her get away!!” I heard another voice say.

And just then I jumped on the spot where they had the individual locked in.

I had my claws into the soil digging as fast as I could.

“She’s over there!!” he yelled.

I was shocked to find that Alexa had dug in deeply even before the men in front of me could attack.

I had the signal gun shut for the second time, making it known that I had found the box.

And just as I did, the others had no choice but to standby.

I shifted back into my human form quickly, as I had the box top pulled out.

Surprisingly they had the box tightly covered, making it sort of hard to pull off the top cover.

It started to get colder as I pulled hard trying to take it off.

“Help!!”

“I’m in here!!” She yelled from underneath.

And just as I held on to the covers trying to pull, I felt another hand on my shoulders.

“Move!!” The voice said.

I turned to find Liam right beside me.

I was glad a team member was here, but wondered where the hell they had been.

I watched him struggle with opening the covers as everyone surprisingly gathered around.

Where the hell were they?!… I asked myself.

And for a couple of minutes we all stayed mute watching Liam struggle in opening the box.

When all I heard was growling from him, I felt impatient and disgusted pushing him off.

“I can take it from here!” I said quietly, my voice filled with worry.

I had my hand to the box as I could feel my eyes changing suddenly, making my whole body a little light from what it used to be.

“What's she doing?” I heard them murmur amongst themselves as they stood next to me watching.

“I have no idea” 

I had my eyes and focus, back on the box as I held on to the handle, twisting it to the sides slowly.

And after a few moments of me trying to crack the box open, it made a snap.

Finally!!!…

Liam and the others had it opened in wanting to take the lady in the box out.

I slowly wondered why they had a she wolf, who could simply tear the whole box down locked in there.

“Are you okay ma'am?” I asked, staring at her as we had her pulled out of the box.
