Twenty two

“Focus!!” he yelled.

Staring at the mansion, I had my eyes locked on the windows of the mansion as I had my fist tightened.

After a couple of minutes of me being silent, I stayed still, letting all the thoughts in my head go away.

And in doing all of this, I finally got the music he wanted me to pick out. 

Surprisingly I could hear the lyrics clearly.

He saw the look on my face showing that I had just gotten it, and so he smiled.

“Go on,” he said.

I stayed silent in my head, as the rhythm of the music with the lyrics spelt out loud flowing through my head.

"Off through the new day's mist, I run out from the new day's mist I have come I hunt, therefore I am Harvesting the land, taking of the fallen lamb"

It was actually a song by Metallica titled Wolf and man. 

Damon stood shocked staring at my lips as I spelt out the lyrics confidently like I owned them.

“Impressive,” he said as he had his gaze taken away from me.

“Get the next stage ready” he said to the guards by the field.

And just as I stood watching as they had the equipment arranged, I could tell the next stage was going to be a tough one.

I felt kinda tense and so exhausted actually because we spent a lot of hours trying to locate the first music. 

“This next stage, you are going to have to run around the field going through various obstacles to guess the next song played in the background.

This felt tiring even without starting it, I could sense that this would be a more difficult one. 

I heard Alexa howl up in my head as it seemed as though she was sort of enjoying the whole process.

Damon called me to his side waving his fingers at me.

“Stay focused!!” he said.

I gave a nod staring at the obstacles I saw the guards place by the field.

This is sure going to be a tough one!!…

I also might have to do this while on motion or while fighting or being distracted so he needs my 100% focus.

I started running around the mansion and through the obstacles. I tried locating this music but there was lots of music playing underneath and it felt very hard locating this music in particular.

It also felt very hard because I had to watch out for the obstacles while running.

It felt almost like I couldn't get it done at some point. 

“Don't stop!!” Damon called out to me to get my focus right and block out all other sounds distracting me. 

And just afterwards, the one track I was told to find hit my ear causing me to pause as I listened carefully.

"Hey wolfmoon come cast your spell on me, hey Wolfmoon come cast your spell on me,”

Those were the lyrics of the songs Damon had asked me to pick out. 

“Good,” he said, smiling at me.

And well, I haven't been through so much stress and brainstorming in a long time.

But it was fun finding out about these nice abilities in me that were unique and fun.

After my training, Damon asked we all have a rest for the day but we would continue the training at any time of the day. 

I was more than glad to hear him ordering us to take a break for the day afterwards.

“Mind you, don’t feel too comfortable around the field guys we could kick start anytime” he said walking away.

As I had my arm wrapped around my chest, walking back into the mansion, someone walked up to me from behind and had his hands over my shoulder. 

I was shocked at first when I turned to see who that was as it turned out to be Beta Henry.

I was curious at first but before I could say a word he smiled, staring at me.

“Welcome to the team” he said with a wide smile on his face.

I smiled back wondering what had just happened.

“Well, the strongest among the beta had to take that course for days before he could actually get it done,” he said. 

“And most of the other newbies find it difficult concentrating and keeping focus, while running and trying to pick out sounds,” he added.

“You might want to keep that up to stay sane here,” he said.

“One last thing, don’t get too comfortable here either” he said walking away.

I was confused on why he had made such a statement, right before leaving.

Weird!!!..

We all got into the hall of the mansion and everyone went their separate ways in the mansion to relax. 

I was sort of shocked with the attitude of Henry back on the field.

I felt my stomach growl as I ran up the stairs heading to my chambers.

I made my way to the dining room hoping I would find lunch served

And just as I walked in, they just had it served hot on the table.

The steaks look so raw on the plate in front of me, staring at the plate I felt like throwing up. 

I watched as the maid beside me poured a red drink into cups.

“What’s that?” I asked curiously. 

“Red wine Ma’am” she responded.

“Can I have some?” I said pointing to the cups.

“Sure Ma’am” she responded, smiling at me.

I watched her pour out a drink in the cup next to my plate as I took a sip of the content of the cup.

It felt so good letting down the fluid in the cup down my throat, as it ran cold through my system.

Surprisingly, I had a bite of the steak on my plate as I took in more sips of the drink in the cup.

And for the first time in a long time I had a really good meal.
