Chapter 153 Chapter 154

Chapter 153 Chapter 154

"Hello, my dear Amelia, How are you doing? "It's been a while," a cold, icy voice sounded through the phone, and on hearing the voice, Amelia widened her eyes in surprise.

"Hi Mara, "It has really been a while. Now how on earth did you get my phone number?" Amelia asked Mara through the phone.

"Well, Amelia, does it really matter?" Mara asked Amelia through the phone.

"Yes, it matters, Mara, and that's because the last time I checked, I didn't give you or anyone close to you my phone number," Amelia said to Mara through the phone.

"Come on, Amelia, you know very well that I always get whatever I want. When I wanted Adrian, I got him; when I wanted to become the Luna of Wolfenwood Pack, I got it, so do you think that it's your phone number that is going to be difficult for me to get?" Mara asked Amelia with a proud tone.

"No, I don't think so, so what the hell do you want?" Amelia asked Mara.

"Nothing much, just wanted to check on a friend," Mara said to Amelia, who scoffed at her through the phone.

"I'm not your friend, Mara. I would rather be friendless than have a friend like you," Amelia said to Mara, who giggled through the phone.

"So Amelia, you don't want to be my friend?" Mara asked Amelia while feigning to be hurt by what she had just said.

"Not even in my next life, Mara. Now I will ask you again, what do you want, and if you don't give me any valid answer, I will hang up," Amelia said to Mara.

"Please don't hang up yet; even if I'm your enemy, at least don't be rude with me," Mara said to Amelia, who groaned in frustration.

"Mara I'm still waiting for you to tell me why you called me," Amelia said to Mara through the phone.

"Well, the reason why I called you is to ask you if you are happy." Mara asked Amelia, who furrowed her brows in confusion.

"Yes, of course I'm happy, or were you expecting me not to be happy?" Amelia asked Mara.

"No, of course, Amelia, I was actually expecting you to be happy, but the issue here is that I'm not happy," Mara said to Amelia.

"Ooh, well, I would have really loved to ask you why you aren't happy, but I can't, and do you know why? Because I don't care, your being happy or not has nothing to do with me," Amelia said to Mara.

"And who told you that it has nothing to do with you?" Mara asked Amelia, who furrowed her brows in confusion once again.

"And how exactly does your being happy or not have anything to do with me, or am I the guardian of your happiness?" Amelia asked Mara.

"No, you aren't; actually, no one can be anyone's guardian of happiness, but then I was very happy until your lover killed my mate," Mara said to Amelia through the phone.

"And who exactly are you calling my lover, because I don't know what you are talking about," Amelia said to Mara.

"Adrian, of course, or who else is supposed to be your lover?" Mara asked Amelia.

"Well, hold it right there, Mara. Adrian isn't my lover; you yourself just said right now that you took him away from me, so how on earth is he my lover if you took him away from me?" Amelia asked Mara with an inquisitive tone.

"Amelia, stop trying to make a fool out of me; whether you agree to it or not, I know that Adrian is your lover, and you too know it," Mara said to Amelia, who scoffed in disbelief.

"Well, Mara, believe whatever you want; it's none of my business, and since you said that Adrian killed your mate, I think he's the one you should be contacting and not me. If you don't have his phone number, I can even send it to you so that you can contact him," Amelia said to Mara.

"And you think that I don't have Adrian's phone number? If I contacted you instead of him, it's because it's you I want to talk to," Mara said to Amelia.

"Well, if that's the case, you better go straight to the point and stop beating around the bush; if not, I won't have any other choice but to hang up," Amelia said to Mara.

"Well, since you are asking me to go straight to the point, I will. Adrian killed the closest person to me, and the person who I cared the most about, and I'm going to do the same thing to him. Now the question is, who is it that Adrian cares the most about? I guess you already know the answer to that question," Mara said to Amelia before hanging up.

"Amelia, I think you need to tell Adrian about this," Tricksy said to Amelia after Mara hung up the call.

"I'm sorry, Tricksy, but I can't," Amelia said to Tricksy as she took her phone and placed a call across to Erica.

"And why the hell can't you tell Adrian about it?" 'Tricksy?' asked Amelia.

"Because I just rejected his advances some minutes ago, how do you expect me to go back to him and ask for his help after rejecting his advances?" Amelia asked Tricksy while still waiting for Erica to pick up the call.

"You are crazy, Amelia. Tell me, did you accept his advances before he came after you yesterday just to make sure you are okay?" 'Tricksy?' asked Amelia.

"I don't know, Tricksy. I said I'm not telling him, and that's final. Can you now please leave me alone?" Amelia said to Tricksy before shutting off their mind link, and at the same time, Erica picked up the call.

"Hey Amelia, "How are you doing?" Erica asked Amelia after picking up the call.

"Very bad, Erica. I mean, very, very bad." Amelia said to Erica.

"What do you mean by 'very bad'? What happened this time around?" Erica asked Amelia.

"Mara just called me," Amelia said to Erica.

"Okay, and what did she tell you?" Erica asked Amelia.

"She told me that Adrian killed the person who she cared most about, which is her lover Dave, and now that she too is going to make sure to kill the person who Adrian cares most about," Amelia said to Erica.

"Okay, that doesn't sound good. I know she doesn't seem like a big threat, but for her to call you and make such threats, that means that she already has something planned out, and you need to be very careful. Have you informed Adrian about it?" Erica asked Amelia.

"No, I haven't," Amelia said to Erica.

"And what are you waiting for before informing him about it?" Erica asked Amelia.

"Well, I'm not planning to tell him about it," Amelia said to Erica.

"What?" Erica asked Amelia.

"You heard me right, Erica, I'm not telling Adrian about it," Amelia said to Erica.

"And why the hell do you not want to tell him about it?" Erica asked Amelia, who sighed heavily before explaining the reason to Erica.

"Well, sincerely speaking, Amelia, it would have been good if you told him about it. You have been refusing his advances since all this while, but still he hasn't left your side. He's still there with you, so I don't think that he's going to refuse to help you this time around because you refused his advances." Erica said to Amelia, who sighed heavily.

"Anyway, the choice is all yours, by the way, since my two-week break starts tomorrow. What if I come and keep you company for a little while?" Erica asked Amelia.

"Really? Can you do that?" Amelia asked Erica.

"Yes, of course; at least with me around, you won't be alone at home for some while," Erica said to Amelia.

"Well, I would be very happy if you could do that, but what about your boyfriend? Won't he complain?" Amelia asked Erica.

"Well, he would have if he was present, but unfortunately he's not present; he travelled to another city because of his work, and he will be staying there for over a month," Erica said to Amelia.

"Ooh, that's good then. When should I be expecting you?" Amelia asked Erica.

"Tomorrow, I will let you know when I get to the address you sent me," Erica said to Amelia."

"Okay then, thank you so much; I knew I could always count on you," Amelia said to Erica.

"Don't mention it, please. I will be hanging up now. Chat with you later," Erica said to Amelia before hanging up the call.

Meanwhile in Adrian's office, after Amelia's departure, he got back to what he was doing on his computer before Amelia came to see him.

As he was still busy working on his computer, his phone started ringing, and without hesitating, he took the phone and checked the caller ID before picking up the call.

"Hello Erica, "How are you doing?" Adrian asked her after picking up the call.

"I'm doing good, Alpha Adrian. Actually, there's something very important I want to tell you, but before telling you, you have to promise me that you won't ask Amelia about it," Erica said to Adrian.

"Well, sincerely speaking, I don't like making such promises, especially as I don't know what the issue is all about, but since it has something to do with Amelia, go on and tell me; I won't ask her about it," Adrian said to Erica in reply.
