Chapter 150 Chapter 151
Chapter 150 Chapter 151
"Alex could be seen walking out of one of the hospital wards after checking up on the patient that was in the ward, and right behind him was one of the nurses who had followed him along.
"So tell me, is there any other patient we need to check on?" Alex asked the nurse was, and with that, she proceeded to check the register she was holding.
"No sir, this was the last one," the nurse said to Alex in reply.
"Okay then, I will be heading back to my office; let me know if you guys need anything," Alex said to the nurse.
"Okay, sir," the nurse said to Alex before turning and walking away, and with that, Alex also started heading to his office.
Getting to his office, Alex removed the stethoscope that was hanging on his neck and dropped it on his desk, and afterwards, he took the bottle of water on his desk and started drinking it.
As he was drinking the water, a knock resounded on his door.
"Come in," he instructed, thinking that it was one of the nurses who had come to see him concerning a patient, but when the door swung open, he was surprised to see Amelia instead.
"A-A-melia," Alex muttered in surprise, as he wasn't expecting her to come and see him anytime soon. After meeting with Erica, he had expected her to tell Amelia about him being alive, but the last thing he imagined was her coming to see him the following day.
"Hi Alex, how are you doing?" Amelia asked him with a casual tone.
"I'm doing good, Amelia; please have a seat," Alex said to her as he pointed at the chair opposite him, and with that, Amelia walked towards it and sat down.
"Do you want me to offer you anything, water...
"No, it's okay, I don't need anything," Amelia said to Alex, who nodded in reply.
"Well, sincerely speaking, I wasn't expecting to see you again," Alex said to Amelia.
"Yeah, I also wasn't expecting to see you again, especially after I learnt some months ago that you passed away," Amelia said to Alex.
"Well, that's a long story, but thanks to Adrian and the moon goddess, I'm still alive, safe and sound, as you can see," Alex said to Amelia.
"And when were you planning to tell me about it, or were you never planning to tell me about it?" Amelia asked Alex, and with that he heaved a sigh.
"Sincerely speaking, I was never planning to tell you about it; I didn't even want you to know that I was still alive in the first place," Alex said to Amelia, who furrowed her brows at him.
"And can I know why?" Amelia asked Alex with furrowed brows.
"Well, that's because I couldn't afford to look at your face after everything I did to you. I never loved you right from the beginning, and neither did you. We both had two different people we were in love with, and despite that, I kept you in the Pack against your will all because of my selfish ambitions. I almost ruined your career despite knowing all the hard work you put in before becoming a medical doctor. So tell me, how was I supposed to look at your face after all that?" Alex asked Amelia, who sighed heavily.
"Well, Alex, all that was in the past, and believe me, I'm not holding any of that against you. I forgave you right from the day I learnt that you had passed away, and even now that I know that you are still alive, I'm still not holding it against you. I'm happy that you have finally realised all your mistakes and have also deviated from doing them; that's what is the most important thing, and I hope you don't go back to your bad ways in the future," Amelia said to Alex.
"I won't, I promise," Alex said to Amelia.
"Well, I'm happy to hear that, and concerning the main reason why I came to see you, it's to tell you that we are done, from today henceforth, I'm no longer your mate, and you are no longer mine. I have moved on with my life, and I hope you will do so too," Amelia said to Alex.
"Well, Amelia, I have already moved on with my life a very long time ago. Not only have I gotten back with the person I loved right from the beginning, but I'm also planning to get married to her very soon, so you don't have anything to worry about," Alex said to Amelia.
"Ooh, I'm happy to hear that. Congratulations in advance, by the way," Amelia said to Alex.
"Thank you so much, but you didn't ask about who the person is, or aren't you interested in knowing who your rival is?" Alex asked Amelia.
"Well, first, I already know who the person is, and secondly, I won't call her my rival; after all, we are no longer together," Amelia said to Alex, who furrowed his brows at her.
"And who do you think the person is?" Alex asked Amelia.
"Isn't it, Claudia?" Amelia asked Alex, who widened his eyes in surprise.
"How did you know?" Alex asked Amelia.
"Well, you said both of you are getting married very soon, so that literally means both of you have known each other for a very long time, so it wasn't easy to figure out," Amelia said to Alex, and at the same time, a knock resounded through the door.
"Come in," Alex instructed, and with that the door burst open, revealing Claudia, who was a little bit frightened as she saw Amelia.
"Doctor Amelia," Claudia called to Amelia as she walked into the office.
"Yes, Claudia, how are you doing? It's been a while," Amelia said to her.
"I'm doing good. What about you?" Claudia asked Amelia.
"Well, I'm doing good too. Alex was actually telling me about you guys' upcoming wedding. Congratulations, by the way," Amelia said to her with a warm smile.
"Thank you so much, Dr Amelia," Claudia said to Amelia.
"Well, I will be taking my leave now. See you guys. That is if I get the chance to come back to this city again," Amelia said to Alex and Claudia before standing up and walking out of the office.
