Imogen's pov

After they were done, I followed them out of the room, I left my phone on top of my bed, I don't need to take my phone to events like this, I walked down the hallway with my gown sweeping the ground, I walked down the stairs elegantly and then I saw Adam waiting for me in the sitting room with his beta

"You are ready," He said and I smiled at him

"You look breathtaking," Adam said and my face turned red

"Thank you" I replied and he took my hand and I walked beside him outside the mansion, a lot of people were outside, it was a huge crowd and then I saw the elders, they were wearing a robe and I bowed slightly at them, I took a sit and soon the whole celebration began, they were all dancing and happy, they were glad that their previous leader is well and alive

"Good evening everyone," Adam said

"You all are aware of the reason for this gathering, my father who had been sick for a long time now is now healthy and strong," Adam said as he turned to his father, I could see that he was so happy that his father was healthy and strong, I was also glad that I did something that made me happy, he has everything and there's nothing in this world that I can give him but I was able to help his father,u knew my degree wasn't a waste

"And this is because of Imogen, my first love," He said and my face turned red, I was his first love, so I got his heart, I decided to stop thinking of the past because each time I did so, it makes my mind boil, I wouldn't have been in this mess if I hadn't left this pack

"Imogen!" Adam called and asked me to walk closer to him, I stood to my feet and walked closer to Adam, Everyone's eyes were on me, I knew that most of the female wolves would be angry and jealous because they had hoped that Adam would pick them as his new mate but unfortunately, he called me out and this is the moment that I have been waiting for

"Imogen here is my mate," Adam said but something was missing, I couldn't feel the mate bond connection, it felt empty and my wolf wasn't jumping for joy and I know that he could feel it too, The elders noticed this and one of them stood up and walked up to us

"You don't feel the mate bond, right?" He asked and I turned to Adam

"No, I don't feel it" Adam replied

"Can I see your hand?" The elder said as he turned to me and I gave him my hand, he held my waist as if he was checking my pulse and I just stared at him

"You were injected with wolfsbane," The elder said and I noticed Adam furrow his eyebrow as he turned to me

"I don't know what he talking about," I said

"This union can't happen, Alpha Adam," The elder said ignoring me, I forgot that I was standing in front of a congregation. "But I'm the mother of his kids," I said, I've come too far to back down now, I don't know how I was injected with wolfsbane but I was ready to prove myself worthy of being his mate and the Luna of this pack

"What kids is she talking about" The elder asked and Adam's father who was sitting stood to his feet she walked closer to us, he wasn't aware that I had given birth to Adam's kids and the future heir

"Yes, I got pregnant six years ago for Adam and I gave birth to triplets," I said

"Two boys and a girl" I added

"Okay then, where are the kids" They asked and I turned to look at Adam, he was quiet and he kept a straight face, I needed his help right now but he just kept quiet and I knew that I was alone. Moreover, the time he helped me, I asked Maxwell to hold the children

"They're in the city with my ex-husband" I lied

"Okay, the only way this union can work is if you bring the children to this pack and then you can be the Luna of this pack, the mother of the next heir of the pack," The elder said and Adam's father agreed, I didn't know how I was going to do it, but I hoped that I could get back the children because that was the only way and I needed them back

"Okay" I nodded my head and I was asked to go back to my sit I went back to my sit feeling nervous and heartbroken, I didn't know how I was going to do it but I hoped for the best and I prayed that the moon goddess will listen to my prayers and bring my kids back to me

I sat there as I watched everyone celebrate, they were all happy but I wasn't, after sitting there for a while, I stood to my feet and walked back into the mansion, just when I thought my life was going back to normal, all this happened and I needed to solve my problem by myself, I needed to talk to Maxwell, I needed to ask him about the wolf bane, Is the one that injected me?

I hated Maxwell right now and I didn't know what to say or do right now. Why would Maxwell derive joy from making my life more miserable, why would he want me to be heartbroken? Why would he want me to be in so much pain

I walked back to my room, I was dressed in a fancy gown but I wasn't happy, I thought that this night would be the best in my life but I was wrong, I could have stayed back in bed today
