Author's pov.

Silas stood at the center of the meeting hall, he had been called for a trial. Sir Patrick sat far across the meeting hall as he nodded his head assuringly.

“We are discussing the defiance of Silas Deane” an old man jiggle the bell.

“Silas”. A man stood up as he approached forward. “You have been charged for opposition of power and defiance to the authorities”. He explained.

“Do you have defendant?” Another elder asked.

“That would be me”. Richard raised his hand as he stepped forward. “I am Silas defendant”.

“How could you be his defendant?” He scoffed. “You were the one who made a rule that he defied and you are supporting him”.

“I don't see any reason for what he is being charged for” Richard defended.

The man nodded his head in disbelief as he took in deep breaths. “I am elder Adrian” he bowed to the council.  “I would be the prosecutor of this case”.

The council nodded their head in affirmation as they whispered among themselves.

“First I would like to start with what happened that began this war” he paused. “Few months back we got a message from Richard that the black witches he was chasing in Africa had escaped and had come to this part of the region, we searched for them but couldn't find anything, then Richard suggested that we check the no man's territory and we agreed to it, we sent people… no… we sent fifty rogue hunters to the no man's territory but unfortunately none  of them return back home” he paused as he turned to Silas. “Are you aware of that story?”

Silas rolled his eyes as his face flickered to irritation.

“That wasn't a saying boy, it was a question” he snapped.

“Even a kid is aware of what happened” he scoffed.

“Since the one trial is aware of the story, we shall proceed”. He smiled. “The rogue pack killed all fifty of them and we asked Noah to check it out, unfortunately Noah met a cruel fate…” he paused as he turned back to Silas.

“I am aware of that too” he eyed as he shook his head.

“Okay, so we are going straight to the point, after we lost Noah, the council decided that it was best another figure head the pack for the time until we find a way to rescue Noah and Kristen, so we found the perfect person for the job, we asked Richard to come back here”. He gestured to him. “Richard came and saw everything, some of us declared war but Richard told us that there was no need for that, he told us s plan that could destroy the black witches coven and the rogue pack and all of us accepted the plan but one person went ahead to defy your authority and attacked the rogue pack”. He glared at Silas.

“Do you have anything to say  to that?” An old man asked.

“I do” Silas nodded his head in affirmation. “I did hear of the plan but do you really think I was going to seat down and watched the whole thing?” He scoffed. “The rogues would only come back for us because they would think that they have won, won't that be a problem in the future?”

“I am not against your intentions, I just have problem with your actions” another Elder revealed. “You might have endangered her and Noah in the rogue pack they are staying”.

“I wasn't bother about what would happen, all I wanted was to make sure they know their place and not try anything funny with Kristen” he added.

“What he meant was that his decision was something he had to make in a haste, he didn't stop to think about the precautions”. Richard chipped in as he shot him a hostile glare.

“I was thinking clearly” Silas muttered. “I don't regret my decision”.

“Can you see it?” Elder Adrian scoffed. “There is no sign of remorse, he doesn't feel regrets for what he did… a young hunter even died because of you”.

“That is the only thing I can be charged for”. Silas snapped. “You can not charge me for not being a coward like you all”.

“What kind of insolent attitude is this?” One of the elders jerked up. “This shouldn't be allowed in the courtroom”.

The elders muttered among themselves as they nodded in disappointment.

“What did I say wrong?” Silas scoffed.

“Richard, get this boy to control himself”. Elder Adrian hissed.

“Silas…” Richard called but he cut him off.

“It is my turn to speak” he eyed. “Among the fifty rogue hunters that died, is there anyone who lost someone dear to them…” the meeting hall went silent.

“No body” he chuckled. “None if you here lost a single person, none of you lost your father, mother, brother, sister, son or whatever, none of you lost anything”.

“So you did this for them?” Elder Adrian scoffed.

“No” Silas snapped. “I did it for me, I did it for the people that lost their lives and the council were not going to anything”.

“That doesn't justify what you have done Silas” Richard frowned. “Let me do the talking”.

Silas took a deep breath as he reluctantly agreed.

Richard stepped forward as he ran his hand through his hair. “Silas has committed a grave sin but we cannot hold that against him…” he paused as he glanced at each elder.

“He defy our laws and disobeyed an Alpha order”.

“Blasphemy” Silas shouted, glaring at Elder Adrian. “You should never compare yourself to the Alpha”.

“We are not comparing ourselves Silas” another elder corrected.

“What we are doing is wrong, we are not saying anything bad but your actions calls for it”. Another elder chipped in.

“Let us get to the point Silas, we all have important things to approve, so the court…” elder Adrian paused. “In the case of Silas you are hereby…” he stopped as the door flung open revealing Kristen.
