Chapter 421: The Taylor Group Changes Ownership
The Taylor Villa.
The atmosphere in the villa was oppressive.
"What?" Tobias and Kieran couldn't believe it. "Isabella actually wants to hold a shareholders' meeting to kick Dad out? Has she lost her mind?"
They were all family—was Isabella really going to take over the Taylor Group and force Hayden and Chase out?
"She's already sent notices to all the shareholders." Chase was beginning to doubt whether Isabella was even the same person he used to know.
To make sure all shareholders attended the meeting, Isabella had even said directly that anyone who dared not show up would be kicked out as a shareholder.
Hayden's face was dark with anger.
Right now, he and Chase together hold less than twenty-five percent of the shares, while Isabella alone owns seventy percent of the Taylor Group. So once she proposed changing leadership at the shareholders' meeting, based on shareholding percentages, it would be completely Isabella's call!
He had no way to stop it.
Olivia was also panicking. "Honey, what is Isabella trying to do? If she really kicks you out of the Taylor Group, will she take care of our family?"
Olivia was just a housewife. All her expenses came from the bank card Hayden gave her, and Hayden's money naturally came from the Taylor Group.
If Isabella took control of the Taylor Group and Hayden was drowning in debt, what would happen to her? Who would give her money?
Hearing this, Hayden's vicious gaze immediately fell on Olivia.
"You have the nerve to ask?"
"Don't you understand what Isabella wants to do?"
Hayden was furious. "She wants to kick me out of the Taylor Group! She won't care if we live or die, won't care about you, and won't care about me anymore!"
Olivia froze at his outburst.
She didn't know what to say.
"I asked you to raise our children properly—look what you've done!" Hayden grabbed Olivia by the collar, glaring at her viciously. "Why did you force Isabella to leave home? Why didn't you treat her well when she came back? Don't you know who your own child is?"
"Isabella becoming this cold and heartless is all your fault!"
Isabella didn't even care about family anymore—she only wanted the Taylor Group.
Was she like this when she first came back? No, it was because she was too disappointed.
Olivia looked at Hayden's fierce expression, her face pale with fear. "Honey, I—I was wrong. I didn't know, I didn't know Isabella would be so heartless, so ruthless. If I'd known earlier, I wouldn't have ignored her..."
"And you guys!"
Hayden turned to glare at his sons. "If even one of you had cared about Isabella a little more, would she disown you? You're all idiots, wasting your attention on that useless adopted daughter. Are your brains broken?"
With that, Hayden swept everything off the table onto the floor.
Everyone was shocked by his actions.
Bianca had just returned home and was startled by the scene. "Dad, you..."
A slap landed on her face.
"Get out!"
"You're not part of the Taylor family! It's because of you that this house is in chaos!"
"Get out right now!"
Bianca's mind went blank. She was completely stunned, looking at Hayden with hurt and confusion.
"Chase, what's wrong with Dad?" Bianca tugged at Chase's clothes.
"Don't touch me." Chase looked annoyed.
Hayden was right. Isabella didn't want to acknowledge them as family anymore, which was why she was being so ruthless. If he had treated Isabella the way he treated Bianca from the start, would Isabella be this heartless toward him?
And the reason he had been biased against Isabella was that Bianca kept playing the victim and stirring up trouble between him and Isabella.
Bianca looked at Olivia.
But Olivia didn't want to look at her either.
Neither did Tobias nor Kieran.
When facing a major crisis that threatened their survival, no one cared about Bianca. Human nature was like that—only after you're fed do you think about other needs.
And right now, they all felt threatened by Isabella. If Isabella were determined, she could leave them without even food to eat.
"Dad, the urgent matter is what to do about tomorrow's shareholders' meeting?" Chase asked, calming down.
Hayden gritted his teeth. "Go to the Taylor Group early tomorrow. Before the shareholders' meeting, you talk to Isabella properly. Say nice things and try to win her over."
Chase nodded. "Okay, I understand."
---
The next day.
News that the Taylor Group was holding a shareholders' meeting somehow leaked out and caused a huge stir online.
Chase and Hayden sat in the car heading to the Taylor Group. Chase was scrolling through his tablet, his expression grim.
He suspected William had leaked the information.
As for why he would spread the news, was he trying to quickly publicize the change in the Taylor Group's ownership?
The car soon stopped at the entrance of the Taylor Group.
Chase got out and had just entered the building when he heard employees talking.
"I heard Ms. Taylor acquired seventy percent of the Taylor Group's shares a while ago. Now Ms. Taylor is our biggest shareholder."
"Could this shareholders' meeting be about changing the chairman?"
"Very likely."
"So our future chairman will be Ms. Taylor?"
"Really? Ms. Taylor is so young, and she's already becoming chairman?"
"I heard Ms. Taylor has a good relationship with Mr. Brown from the Brown Group. He helped resolve the Crown District project crisis. If Ms. Taylor really becomes chairman, with the Brown Group connection, maybe the Taylor Group will develop even better."
"But isn't Chase the designated future chairman? What happens to Chase after Isabella takes over the Taylor Group?"
"Chase has no choice. Ms. Taylor holds the most shares now. Because Chase and Hayden mismanaged things, this is the result. The price for the Brown Group helping the Taylor Group was acquiring seventy percent of the shares, and those shares ended up in Ms. Taylor's hands."
"What do you think the relationship is between Ms. Taylor and Mr. Brown? Why is Mr. Brown so good to Ms. Taylor?"
"Maybe they're a couple?"
"Really? If Ms. Taylor and Mr. Brown are together, we've got a bright future!"
If the Taylor Group could connect with the Brown Group, why worry about not having good projects in the future?
Hearing these words, Chase's expression darkened.
He clenched his fists, regretting even more how he'd treated Isabella before.
Logically, he should be happy that Isabella had connected with William. As Isabella's older brother, he might get William's help in the future. But now their relationship was a mess, so the more powerful Isabella's connections were, the more uneasy and afraid he felt.
