Delmar glanced at Saskia with some disapproval, but being polite, he couldn't bring himself to criticize her directly.
Brad spoke up instead, "Saskia, Isabella was just trying to solve the problem. You didn't need to talk to her like that."
Isolde also forced a smile, trying to smooth things over. "Isabella, don't take what Saskia said to heart. She stayed up all night working on these experiment steps and didn't sleep well, so she's a bit on edge."
Isabella looked at Saskia, her eyes darkening slightly, and said, "I don't care what she says. I just wanted to save everyone some trouble. But since she insists her experiment steps are correct and thinks I'm just trying to show off, I won't say anything more. You can all continue following the current procedure."
"In the end, if I'm not the only one whose data comes out wrong, you'll know the truth."
"Also, I've finished my part of the experiment. I've written my data on the blackboard. I'm leaving now."
Isabella snapped the chalk in her hand, tossed it on the table, and walked out of the lab.
Seeing Isabella leave just like that, Isolde felt uneasy. She tugged at Saskia's sleeve and said, "Saskia, maybe you should go apologize to Isabella. What you said just now really wasn't appropriate."
"Why should I apologize?" Saskia frowned. "I didn't do anything wrong."
She hadn't done anything wrong.
It was Isabella who was being presumptuous, claiming her experiment steps were wrong right off the bat.

Isolde felt awkward and said quietly, "But what if your experiment steps really are wrong..."
What Saskia had said earlier was really unreasonable.
"Impossible." Saskia pressed her lips together and clenched her fists. "Following these steps will be fine."
She would rather believe that Isabella made mistakes while doing the experiment than believe there was a problem with her own work.
After all, Isabella probably spent every day thinking about how to seduce Delmar, so how could she focus on the experiment? That meant Isabella was more likely to be wrong.
Isolde tried to persuade her some more, but seeing that Saskia still refused to apologize to Isabella, she couldn't force her and could only say, "Then let's continue with the experiment."

Kennedy asked when she saw Isabella return.
"Yes." Isabella walked in listlessly and said, "But today's data was a waste of time."
"A waste?" Kennedy looked at her puzzled. "What happened?"
Isabella handed over the printed experiment steps and materials. "Kennedy, can you check if the third part of these steps is wrong? I want to verify my thinking."
"Hold on, let me see."
Kennedy sat on the sofa, placed the materials on her lap, and looked through them.
A few minutes later, Kennedy said, "There is a problem."
She looked up at Isabella. "Where did you guys copy these steps from?"
"Copy?" Isabella was surprised and confused.
Kennedy didn't say anything. She went upstairs and came back down with a book, skillfully flipping to a page and handing it to Isabella.
"Your experiment is somewhat similar to the one described in this book, but not exactly the same. The approach and core theory are different, so you can't follow this method. But look—your experiment steps are not only exactly the same as in this book, even this base number is directly copied from this experiment. Isn't that copying?"
Isabella immediately looked at the two identical base numbers and frowned.
She really didn't expect that Saskia would copy even the base number directly. Did she really not understand, or was she pretending?

"Let me borrow this book for now."

"I already did." Isabella said flatly.
"And then?"
"They don't believe me."
Kennedy was surprised. "They don't believe you? Anyone can see at a glance that it's wrong. What's not to believe?"

Kennedy thought about it. "It doesn't matter if they don't believe you now. Once their data comes out, they'll naturally know you were right."

"My data is wrong too." Delmar said.
"This is strange. Why is everyone's data wrong?"
