Chapter 24 For My Good?
Olivia frowned, staring at Isabella with wide eyes, her expression almost dark. "Say that again?"
Isabella was fine when she first came back, so why had she become so disobedient now?
Losing her temper at the drop of a hat, hitting people, and even looking at her own mother like that—she looked at her as if she were looking at an enemy.
What kind of daughter acts like this?
Olivia was furious.
"I can say it as many times as you want. It's all the same." Isabella looked at her coldly. "Get a different tutor and I'll do the extra lessons. If not, forget it."
With that, she turned to close the door, wearing an expression that said "I can't be bothered to waste words on you."
"You..." Olivia's eyes immediately turned red with anger. "Stop right there!"
She grabbed Isabella's arm, trying to pull her back.
"Let go!" Isabella pried her hand off forcefully and pushed Olivia away.
Olivia stumbled back a few steps and steadied herself against the door frame. After a few seconds of shock that Isabella had actually laid hands on her, she became both anxious and angry. "Isabella, I'm doing this for your own good. If you weren't my own daughter, do you think I'd even bother with you?"
But Isabella didn't care about her as a mother at all.
Olivia was so angry her chest started to hurt.
Isabella sneered. "If you were really doing this for my own good, you wouldn't have made me kneel just because of Bianca's little injury."
It would have been better if Isabella hadn't brought this up—mentioning it only made Olivia angrier. "You have the nerve to bring that up? What were you thinking when you pushed Bianca?"
Just then, Yves suddenly ran upstairs, looking a bit anxious. "Mrs. Taylor, I just received a video out of nowhere. It seems to be surveillance footage from Mr. Tobias Taylor's hospital..."
Olivia glanced at her and immediately frowned. "What?"
Why would she receive something like that out of the blue?
Olivia held out her hand. "Give it here, let me see."
Yves quickly handed it over.
It was strange—the text message came very suddenly, just from a string of unknown numbers.
After she opened it and watched, thinking about how Isabella had been punished a few days ago, she immediately brought it upstairs.
Olivia opened the video and saw it really was footage from the hospital stairwell.
In the footage, Bianca and Isabella were going down the stairs one after the other, and a nurse also appeared in the frame.
Olivia was confused.
Why did Yves bring this up? What was there to see?
Just as she was thinking this, Olivia saw Bianca suddenly fall down on her own in the footage.
After watching the video, Olivia's face completely froze.
Just moments ago, she had been loudly questioning Isabella, accusing her of pushing Bianca.
But the truth was completely different from what she had thought.
Blood rushed to Olivia's face. Her emotions were complicated for a moment. She gripped the phone, lifted her eyes to look at Isabella, but didn't expect that Isabella was also staring intently at her own phone.
Olivia leaned over to look and saw that Isabella's phone also had this same video.
The truth was clear as day. After watching the video, Isabella glanced at Olivia and sneered. "For my own good?"
Isabella's cold, sarcastic remark was like a slap across Olivia's face.
Olivia's lips moved. "Isabella, if I had known..."
But Isabella directly closed the door, the cold draft hitting her face.
Olivia shivered. Looking at the door that shut her out, a trace of unease rose in her heart.
It felt like something had completely separated her from Isabella.
Olivia shook her head, laughing at herself for overthinking.
Isabella only had her as a mother—she couldn't possibly hold a grudge over such a small matter.
——
On the other side, Yves and Isabella weren't the only ones who received the same video—Hayden, Chase, Tobias, Gabriel, and Bianca also got it.
Hayden took time to watch the video, furrowed his brow, and a trace of worry appeared on his face.
Chase pressed his lips together, his expression darkening.
Tobias was completely surprised. He had just copied this video from the security office and hadn't had time to tell the rest of the Taylor family when he received this same video.
As for Gabriel, after watching the footage, his brows were also tightly furrowed...
Bianca's hand trembled as she held her phone.
Who sent this video? What was their purpose in sending it to her? Had Mom, Dad, and her brothers seen this footage?
The number that sent the message was a string of unknown digits. She called it, only to find it was disconnected.
Just as she was feeling anxious and irritated, in the family group chat, Hayden directly posted a video.
Bianca opened it and saw it was exactly the same as the one she had received.
Bianca's face immediately turned ugly.
Who was it?
Who exposed this footage?
Tobias?
She knew that if Tobias wanted to check the surveillance, it would be very easy.
But she never thought Tobias would actually do this.
Bianca completely lost her mood for shopping and said goodbye to Abigail and the others early, heading home.
——
When Bianca got home, she was told that everyone had returned.
She took several deep breaths at the door, building up her courage before going in.
"I told you all that you misunderstood Isabella." Bianca saw everyone in the living room at a glance. She quickly walked over to Olivia, pouting. "Mom, did you see the video? Isabella didn't push me. Now that the truth is out, do you finally believe it?"
Good thing she had been careful at the time.
After falling, she had always said it was the nurse who pushed her.
But Tobias himself was a medical professional and instinctively sided with medical staff. Plus, he didn't trust Isabella's character, so he immediately insisted it couldn't have been the hospital nurse—it could only be Isabella.
She had even tried to explain for Isabella.
But Olivia and Tobias wouldn't listen at all.
Later, when Olivia wanted to make Isabella kneel as punishment, she had even stood up saying she would kneel with Isabella, but Gabriel had forcibly held her back.
"Tobias." Hayden looked at him, his face serious. "What's going on with you?"
He really hadn't expected Tobias to make this kind of mistake.
At the time, Tobias hadn't even checked the evidence before insisting that Isabella pushed Bianca.
Hayden had thought that since it happened at Tobias's hospital, and Tobias was in his twenties with the ability to judge right from wrong, he couldn't possibly talk nonsense about something like this, so he had really believed him completely.
But it turned out to be a complete misunderstanding!
"Dad, this matter..." Tobias gripped his palm and admitted his mistake. "It's my fault. I didn't get the facts straight."
Just then, Isabella came in from outside.
Tobias immediately looked at Isabella instinctively.
But Isabella didn't even glance at him, nor at anyone else in the living room. She kept her head down and hurried toward the stairs.
