Chapter 230 Let Those People Teach Her a Lesson

Chapter 230 Let Those People Teach Her a Lesson

Isabella said goodbye to Francis, and the group continued walking forward.

Their destination wasn't actually this street, but the several major rough stone trading markets beyond it.

There were three main rough stone markets in Veridian Imperial City: Veyla Market, Orionis Market, and Zalune Market.

Ninety percent of the world's jade came from these three markets, and jewelry business owners basically all sourced their supplies from these markets.

As Isabella walked, she played with the sapphire in her hand.

After that test, she could basically confirm that this was the principle behind how those Novaria people identified stones. When she touched the sapphire, the clarity she felt was different from ordinary rough stones.

Thinking of this, Isabella's lips curved into a slight smile.

If that was the case, wouldn't buying rough stones be a piece of cake for her?

The purchasing manager, seeing Isabella's smile, thought she was happy about getting the sapphire.

"Ms. Taylor, how did you know that stone would definitely yield something good?"

Casey raised her eyebrows dismissively. "What does she know about this stuff? She just got lucky!"

Randomly picking up a stone someone else didn't want and getting a sapphire from it - that was indeed lucky.

Although Isabella had gotten a sapphire, Casey didn't take it seriously at all. After all, this was just small-time stuff. At the rough stone wholesale market, dealing with transactions worth tens of millions or even hundreds of millions of dollars, you couldn't rely on luck alone.

—

The group walked forward about another hundred meters, and Casey walked straight into a restaurant.

This restaurant mainly served food from Lumaria.

"Let's eat lunch before we continue. There won't be any restaurants once we get to the market area."

Under the staff's guidance, everyone sat down.

Since the rough stone market closed at 6 PM, everyone ate quickly to save time. In less than thirty minutes, they got up and left the restaurant.

Cecil patted his full belly. "The fish at that place was pretty fresh."

"That restaurant has been here for over ten years. Basically all the Lumaria people who come here eat there," Kirk said, when suddenly he caught sight of a figure out of the corner of his eye.

But when he turned to look, the figure had disappeared.

Kirk's eyes sharpened, and he leaned close to Casey's ear, whispering, "We're being followed."

"It's probably that fat guy from earlier, coming for the sapphire."

He pulled out his phone to call for backup.

But Casey stopped him. "No need."

Kirk was stunned. "Why? They're definitely going to make a move. I'll call people to protect you guys."

Casey glanced at Isabella walking ahead and deliberately slowed down with the others. "What's the rush? They're after her, not us."

Kirk was confused. "Isn't she with you guys?"

Casey shook her head. "You don't need to worry about this. Let those people teach her a lesson."

—

Isabella got separated from the others.

She turned around and found that Casey, Kirk and the others were all gone, so she called Casey.

When Casey received Isabella's call, she pretended to be anxious. "Ms. Taylor, where did you go? I can't find you!"

"Where are you guys?" Isabella asked.

A sharp cold glint flashed in Casey's eyes as she deliberately described a bunch of irrelevant things, making the location unclear.

"Never mind, you don't need to explain. Let's just meet up at the rough stone market."

Isabella hung up and continued walking forward.

She knew the way to the rough stone market.

After walking about fifty meters, Isabella turned into a side road. After a few steps, she suddenly heard footsteps behind her. Isabella turned around and saw four or five strong Veridian men.

Isabella stopped and looked at them, smiling. "Coming for me?"

Just then, the fat guy from earlier also swaggered out from around the corner.

He glared at Isabella viciously.

"You bitch! Give me back my sapphire!"

Isabella looked him over. "So you're planning to be shameless to the end? Can't accept losing so you're just going to rob me?"

"What do you mean rob?" The fat guy was furious. "The sapphire is mine!"

Isabella looked at him mockingly. "Are all you people here this unreasonable?"

Isabella's words enraged the fat guy. "You dare to be so arrogant on my turf?"

"Damn woman! If you don't give me back the sapphire, you won't leave here alive!"

"Won't leave alive?" Isabella laughed coldly. "You really don't take me seriously, saying that."

Seeing Isabella's fearless attitude, the fat guy was furious and immediately ordered, "Teach her a lesson!"

As soon as the fat guy finished speaking, two young men swung their fists and rushed at Isabella.

Isabella narrowed her eyes, the indifference in them as if looking at two ants crawling toward her.

In an instant, a sharp and powerful aura exploded in the air.

Before the two men could even touch Isabella, they were thrown out by a strong force and crashed heavily at the fat guy's feet.

Isabella looked at the blood they spat out on the ground, her eyes wide with disbelief.

The fat guy met Isabella's gaze and just opened his mouth when suddenly an overwhelming coldness swept toward him. The air around him seemed to freeze. In the next second, before he could react, Isabella was already in front of him.

It felt as if what was gripping his neck wasn't a hand, but a cold clamp. The fat guy's entire body was lifted off the ground by Isabella.

The suffocating feeling made his whole face quickly turn purple.

Isabella looked at this person in her palm who couldn't even speak, and said with interest, "Do you know what it feels like to snap someone's neck in one go? Actually, for the person dying, it's pretty quick, because it only takes a second - no, for me, it might not even take a second..."

Hearing Isabella's sinister voice, all the hair on the fat guy's body stood up.

Isabella smiled at his reaction. "Sorry, seems I scared you."

"Actually, we don't have any life-or-death grudge between us, right? You just want to snatch that sapphire from me. It really doesn't warrant me sending you to your death, so I don't actually plan to snap your neck."

As she finished speaking, Isabella released her hand.

The fat guy dropped to the ground like a puppet, his whole body going limp.

Just as he breathed a sigh of relief, Isabella's foot came at him.

The fat guy was kicked straight into a nearby wall. The garbage and tiles stacked against the wall were shaken loose and fell to the ground.

Blood spilled from the fat guy's mouth. His head tilted to the side, and he passed out.

The remaining few people stood there as if frozen, staring blankly at Isabella with looks as if they were seeing some kind of monster.

Under everyone's extremely horrified gazes, Isabella calmly dusted off her hands and walked away.
