Chapter 81 Stay Away from Him
After seeing Quincy sit down, I smiled at Serenity and said, "Serenity, you pick a design too and have them make you a set."
"Okay." Serenity obediently responded and sat down beside me.
My nail set had been made in advance, so now I just needed to try it on to see if it fit.
While the nail technician in front of me was helping me try on the nails, Quincy was still flirting with that male nail technician.
"You still haven't told me your name."
The man replied in a low voice, "Zachary Coleman."
When I heard that voice, I felt like all the blood in my body froze instantly, and my whole body stiffened.
My mind was filled with the scene from my past life of Quincy, covered in blood, lying on the ground.
In my past life, after I got married, Knox restricted my movements. To please Knox, I voluntarily distanced myself from my old friends, even seeing less of Quincy.
Later, when I saw her again, it was when terrible news came - Quincy had been beaten half to death, and the attacker was her boyfriend, a man named Zachary.
Could it be this person?
"Ms. Lockwood."
The nail technician's voice came to my ear, and I snapped back to reality, quickly asking, "What is it?"
The nail technician looked at me with a smile and said, "Ms. Lockwood, I've put the whole set on you. Are you satisfied with it?"
I had ordered a set of nails. Looking at the beautiful designs on them, I nodded and said, "Pack them up, they're fine."
"Alright, Ms. Lockwood."
As the nail technician began removing the nails from my hands, my eyes involuntarily drifted toward Zachary, who was serving Quincy.
I saw he was in his early twenties, with exactly the type of looks Quincy liked.
Watching him somewhat clumsily help Quincy try on the nail set, I asked, "You're not a regular employee here?"
Zachary nodded with a rather serious expression and said, "Yes, I'm the owner of this place. I used to serve customers regularly, but I've been busy with other business these past two years, so my nail skills have gotten rusty."
After hearing his words, I said directly, "Then let your employee help her instead. After all, this nail set we ordered isn't cheap, and it would be difficult to compensate if it gets damaged."
"Helena, what's wrong with you today? It's fine. If it breaks, I'll pay for it. I won't make Zachary compensate!"
As Quincy spoke, she rested her chin on her hand, looking at Zachary with admiration in her eyes. "Zachary, you're so good-looking. Even if you break these nails, I'd be okay with it."
Seeing Zachary's ears turn bright red, my heart sank.
A rich girl meeting a handsome man from a poor background - what a dramatic beginning.
Don't let Quincy's joking manner fool you. I knew that until now, she had never been in a relationship. Zachary's appearance was truly her downfall.
Just then, the nail technician beside me finished packing up my nails.
Quincy had also finished trying hers on. She deliberately showed off by extending her hand in front of Zachary and said, "Zachary, look, are my fingers pretty?"
Zachary said with a red face, "They're beautiful."
Seeing his blushing face, Quincy shouted as if she'd made a great discovery, "Helena, look! Zachary's blushing! I have to say, he's really good-looking, even when he blushes!"
Then she was about to take out her phone. I knew her personality - the next step would definitely be to exchange contact information.
Seeing this, I quickly acted first, grabbing her hand and dragging her outside. "I just remembered there's something urgent I need to do. Come with me quickly."
"What are you doing? I haven't gotten Zachary's contact information yet."
Quincy tried to resist, but I was determined not to give her the chance, forcefully dragging her outside.
"Helena, are you leaving?"
Serenity called out from inside the room. Hearing her voice, I realized I'd forgotten about Serenity.
"Yes, I just remembered something. Come out quickly. Have the driver pick up the custom nails tomorrow."
"Okay."
Serenity responded and got up to come outside.
After getting in the car, Quincy was still complaining, "Helena, what's going on? Why did you suddenly drag me away? I didn't get Zachary's contact information."
Hearing her words, I warned her with a serious expression, "I'm telling you, stay away from Zachary!"
"Why?"
Quincy protested unhappily, "Zachary is the owner of that shop. If I build a good relationship with him, won't you get priority when there are nails you like in the future?"
My face turned cold. "Do I care about that kind of priority?"
Seeing my expression, Quincy finally took it more seriously. "What's going on? Everything was fine just now. What's wrong with you now?"
I couldn't directly tell her about my past life. Even if I did, she wouldn't believe it.
I looked at her seriously and said, "I just think that as a rich young lady, it's not good for you to be involved with someone like that. Quincy, I'm begging you, please stay away from Zachary from now on, okay?"
Quincy put her hand on my forehead and said, "You don't have a fever, so why are you talking crazy? How could I possibly have any connection with him? Really."
I knew Quincy wouldn't believe what I said. If I hadn't experienced my past life, I wouldn't believe it either. But the facts were right in front of me.
Not only had Zachary appeared, but he had directly caught Quincy's attention. However, in this life, I wouldn't let Quincy repeat the same mistakes.
I suddenly thought of Quincy's stepmother's son. Thinking of this, I asked, "Kenneth, I haven't seen him in a long time. I heard he came back from abroad. How come you never mentioned him?"
Hearing me ask about Kenneth Blake, Quincy complained unhappily, "Why are you asking about him? What a mood killer."
"What happened? Did you two fight again?"
Quincy proudly turned her head away and snorted coldly, "Who wants to fight with him? What is he anyway?"
When Quincy was young, her mother died of an illness. Not long after, her father, Alan Blake, married his secretary. Quincy's stepmother also brought along a stepbrother who was a year older than Quincy, which made Quincy very resentful.
Since Alan remarried, there hadn't been a peaceful day at home. After growing up, Quincy moved out.
But every time I saw Kenneth, I could feel his care for Quincy.
Unfortunately, Quincy had never been friendly toward Kenneth. As for what was going on between them, outsiders couldn't really give advice.
